This is honestly one of the most ridiculous takes people have.  Oh, EVGA grandfathered prices until April 16.  So they aren't going to unleash production until after that.  This is silly on two points.  EVGA never had to grandfather in prices, and the other AIBs went plaid on it so much earlier, at much higher price increases.  Do you see MSI, Asus, and others more consistently in stock to the point you can just go buy a card of theirs any old day?  Would it cost more to store parts for four months than sell it if EVGA had a magical stash no other AIB had?  Maybe not, but it's pretty close.  They would have made more by producing and selling everything they have, then buying more parts.  That's just not how this is working out.  I'd rather save a bit of money too, but some of ya'll are like this is going to cost me my kidney with the price increases.  It's just not that.  Tariff politics are at play here, not EVGA being in on skullduggery.

The dangerous part about tariff politics, or commodity price increases in general, is they aren't going to go back to old prices immediately (or ever) once tariffs change or commodity prices go down.  New home construction now is crazy pricey due to the tripling of the price of lumber. Some AIBs took the lead on yea, we're gonna use this as an excuse to get closer to the scalper market.  If the tariffs go away, or if lumber prices reduce, it's not like sellers are going to immediately snap back to old prices.  They will likely wait until competition drives prices back down.  That isn't going to happen right away.  If you want to lament that, go ahead.  However, let's squash evga is hoarding product until April 16.  It just doesn't make sense.

I wish if EVGA at least inform everybody about their queue number, this might ease things up. Every queue system should follow queue numbering.

I agree.  I wish this was a thing.  I think it might be something like, imagine you're dating a few people.  That was never my life, but imagine if you are.  It's cool with everyone, nothing is said to be exclusive.  Still, you may not share all the details with each person (retailers, queue position holders to be explicit in this example) you are dating, because they might get upset.  I think that is what this is.

evga would never release queue numbers because it would start a riot on themselves. Think about it everyone on here wants a card or several of them and even if the numbers were released it is only part of the issue with out knowing the number of cards being released. If you found out that you were #2500 on release day of the card you would expect or demand that you shouldn't have to wait more then a week to order. You would expect that 500 cards a day is a small amount you need to take into account there is what over 24 sku's of cards from evga and there are more cards still coming more cards also keeps slowing things down the more you spread out things the less you are able to get out. As bad as it sounds think of it like putting butter on toast if you have a small amount of butter on the knife it thins out the more you try to spread it. enewt does us a favor with his list he does but even then not everyone posts after they order a card i would say 75% reporting back is high so he doesn't know more then what information he has access too. We all should remember that we all want the cards and they will come maybe not when we want but they will. And Evga did not have to postpone increasing their prices but they did which shows that the made an effort for their customers that other companies did not. They could have on the 1st of this year been like this is now costing us more as a company so the customers need to absorb the extra cost. Just like they didn't need to do the queue system. They made an effort for their customers that other companies did not. And if you really do not like it don't use it or complain about it.

It is ridiculous! What is the point to claim honoring prices three month and then stop production for those months? Better strategy to not to honor old prices at all. You did not count that EVGA sells graphics cards to retailers with discount and sells it to customers on their website for full price. By honoring old prices they probably sell graphics cards to customers with similar discount as to retailers. The only way how they can loose profit this case it is associates program - you can't use associate code outside EVGA.com.

For EVGA to release a flood of cards from April16 to April 30 would make them like really nasty.
I simply do not think EVGA is really nasty. So I think the trickledown of very few cards is going to continue the entire year.

Some stats on eth mining below:
https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

Highest Avg Hash Rate of 493,933.1209 GH/s was recorded on Saturday, April 3, 2021

that would be 4,939,331 evga 3080 3885 gpus.

and it would be earning $.111 per mh or

4,939,331,209 x .111 = 548,265,764 usd a day
prior to power cost which would be about 32,599,584.600 kwatts or at 20 cent power 6,519,916

net daily profit of 542 million.  or 197,830,000,000. yeah 197 billion

So. the cards are simply under priced due to ETH mining.

It

at the moment 200 billion in earnings if there is no crash.

seems too high I think it is more like 19.7 billion still a crazy high number.

I am not that awake this morning need more coffee.

My point is that eth mining pays 11.1 cents an mh or $11.11 a 3080 which makes the 3080 gear for earning money first and gaming gear second.
The GPU companies are able to sell out instantly and since governments are doing nothing about scalpers we will continue to see 1500-2200 dollar 3080's on ebay.

At 2000 usd for a 3080 if it mines at $11.11 a day and costs 1.11 in power you clear 300 a month. So it 7 months the card cost -100
So the card price of 2000 makes sense even if you game. Since you only game about 6-8 hours a day. So in a year a 2000 dollar card would be free. It is a sad state of affairs that the scalpers slipped into t as they do push price upwards out of the reach of the  I game  and mining is evil people.

I can only say if you never mine keep waiting for the crash. BTW the crash will hurt all the gpu companies since there will be a glut of cheap usd gpus on ebay if not this year then next year.

The worst case is that mining keeps whaling for 2 or 3 years (it has never done this) If it does I am not sure what happens to gaming purists.

Even if you have to pay EVGA's small price increase and you get a card you will one of the lucky ones. They could have raised prices much more.

A 9:30 timestamp is the US queue. There is a nasty bottleneck on the EU queue for that SKU that keeps it stalled before the first minute.

I have resigned myself to signing up for the KP HC 3090 just to get a frigging card lol, gonna have to mine with it to pay for itself though :/
I tried NiceHash with my 3060 with those accidental release drivers for a bit, is using coinbase between Nicehash and my bank for record keeping best way to figure out taxes each year?

At least open it. it is possible to remove factory seal, steal the card, place piece of brick for weight and reseal box.
Also good idea to check that serial number on the box and on the card matched.

All legit concerns and things i've considered.
Just had a nice long talk with the seller. He's legit. He is a scalper, but flips them for 300 over retail only as he realized he can sell more, and more quickly that way than over charging.
Has receipts for purchase for all cards.
Was telling me he's fighting ebay over someone trying to say he never mailed the gpu when he has verification by ups it was signed for at the address be buyer even.
Be meeting in the middle of the day 1-3 pm tomorrow, should i go through with it.

Just woke up from my after Easter dinner nap. How goes the queue?

Doh, it’s Sunday

The queue doesn't "go", it sits, pointing a finger at us laughing...

Sounds scammy. Meet some place safe, test the card before you buy if possible.

Be meeting in the middle of the day 1-3 pm tomorrow, should i go through with it.

dont see why not everyone was screaming dont buy dont buy i bought a 3080 about 3weeks in used it till i goy my 3090
here 2 weeks ago and sold the 3080 for 1200 exactly what i paid.im sure alot of those screaming dont buy would now
gladly pay the extra 300.
