The DG-7 already has EVGA on the power supply cover, why put DG-7 in HUGE font behind the tempered glass and place another logo on the front. I don't see other case mfg like Corsair Lian-Li or Coolermaster turning your system into a billboard for them.

If one mfg doesn't have a case we like or the features we want, we have like six others to choose from.

This is true.

Re: EVGA wants feedback on DG-7 Case 2017/01/16 10:27:21 (permalink)
My issue would be the USB 3.0 header. On the Z170 MB, the header is straight down. I'm trying to find a case that this would not be an issue. I would have to cut a slot for it. Unless I'm missing something, this is what I would change.
FYI-PIC From above. I'm talking about where the bottom of the motherboard meets the Power Supply cover at the back. I need slots for USB headers. I see a slot to the right but I'm not sure that matches up with the USB header.

Thanks, Bret

First of all, sorry for bad english.
i love thischasis, i'll change my air 540 with this but it needs some minor changes (for my taste of course).
i wrote a feedback on facebook but nobody gives a heck so i'm writing here also.
1-Please use magnetic dust filters (i saw bottom side dust filters and they looks terrible.)
2-Please put top I/O panel at right instead of left, so we don't see those cables anymore.
3-Please keep it front panel design like this (do not add a 5.25bay, i can use external optical drives if i need to) and add some grills on right side of the front panel for extra ventilation (as like corsair 400)
4-Font size of the "DG-7" text is huge, it could be more elegant if it's size as "EVGA" font like.
5-Tempered glass screws look very cheap, i think nobody would use a screwdriver on it, could be nickel-chrome kind or greenish as like chasis.

Re: EVGA wants feedback on DG-7 Case 2017/01/19 00:24:41 (permalink)
I mostly agree with "Fatti"

The I/O panel on the top should be located on the right side (when standing in front of it) on the top, that way the cables from the I/O panel will be directly behind the motherboard tray and easy for managing the cables on the backside
 from this

to this

i'm not quite sure that is the best option, maybe just go for the mid mounted option if possible

as for the tempered glass panel, I think that the screws should be removed all together and be replaced with a hinge type mount

the majority of people in 2017 don't use optical drives, and if so, they can use it externally.
magnetic dust filter? YES! easy maintenance
please don't use the case as a EVGA Billboard for advertising, perhaps the EVGA logo is fine on the PSU shroud but that is more than enough, perhaps only "DG-7" on the shroud instead of EVGA? the front should be aesthetic, clean and minimalistic
and please no tint on the side panel and no glass on the backside/front

3cm + would be nice for the backside for easy cable management with options for mounted HDD/SSD's on the back.

The front panel should be removable with ONE hand, maybe a easy "pull-back" system or magnetic latch or something for easy access to the front dust filter
(edit: I have no sense of direction!

I spent a small amount of time in photoshop to make this, what do you guys thing about that?

I removed the Logo on the front, aswell as the side (DG-7) added a side vent and moved the I/O panel to the front

I would be nice to have some better pictures to modify, that would be easier for the community to show want they wanted... pls EVGA upload pics

you can't stick an usb flash or a headphone jack at this position to those I/O's, also you don't need to put these grills to the left side, using some grills on the right side of front panel should work i thought, as i said before.

Fatti, I guess you are right allthough more vents equals to less air restriction which would mean that you could run your fans at a lower rpm but, I agree that one on the other side should be enough and not visible if placed up against a wall or something

It is possible to make a modular case to attract more customers. CoolerMaster makes a modular cases, where you can add optional (means it's a choice) 5.25 bay if you wish. The more options you give customers the better chance you have to make a sell.  Is your mom or your cat going to look down on you, if your case has a modular spot that gives you the choice to use a 5.25 bay if you ever wanted to.

Magnetic dust filters are nice, the case i have for my next build has them.

Dear MSim, we get it, you want 5.25bay(s?), you declared your opinion, so do i. Did i made a mistake?
People sharing their opinions&wishes in here like i did, are you asking me or want to discuss with me to "why you don't want a 5.25bay?" honestly i didn't get it, as i said my english not good.
If you asking "why" i just can say "i don't like it". There won't be a 5.25 bay on my next chasis. Do i have to fight about it in here? I don't think so. Because people does not visit this topic for discuss or fight about their ideas, they are just sharing it. And it is EVGA's decision to take my opinion (or yours) serious or not. If they won't add a 5.25bay, some people won't buy this, same goes for the exact opposite. They are aware about this situation. Please stop pushing about it.

I didn't bash your opinion, i just pointed out to you that it's possible to design a case that is modular, that gives customers more reasons to purchase it. Do you refuse to buy a new vehicle because the mfg gives you a list of optional features you can purchase for the vehicle. I find it strange that you join a message boards but don't want to have a discussion.

If the case was design as a modular case and 5.25 bay was sold separately (means you have to pay extra if you want that option), it would attract more customers. Anyone who doesn't like the 5.25 bay or never has a use for one, they don't have to buy the optional upgrade. The horrors, giving customers more reason to purchase your product.

Looks great but could use maybe some air vents, maybe make it more modular i wouldnt mind seeing more new cases with vertical pcie slots like the upcoming enthoo elite. I deff like cases with pwm fan hubs and psu covers

Yes, That's true, Thanks, But I would still like to see more room under the MB not tucked against the bottom edge like that. If I get one, I'll probably make a cutout.

btw from what I can see from the videos of the DG-7 case at CES 2017 it seems that it uses some really cheap metal, please don't make a cheap case with lousy build quality (Coolermaster Elite 430), I would love to see the same type of metal used on the inside as corsair has for their obsidian cases e.g. 350D and 750D

other things could could keep the cost down is, no built-in fan controller and no fan hub

Also please do NOT add a tempered glass panel to the backside, I'm not even sure why people would want to see that mess of cables back there. Same goes for front panel, not everyone uses LED fans.
It is very important to keep the case clean and minimalistic looking from every angle and the same goes for the power and reset button aswell as usb, keep them where they are and don't add more

Agreed on no tempered glass on the back, pointless, that money could be spent on better metals. That being said, I'm sure they're trying to maintain a feasible price point that most could consider, rather than top tier, hence using slightly cheaper materials.

When it comes down to it, it's not a car chassis.. This thing will sit there static most of it's life. As long as it's not producing rattles, cutting corners on material is ok by me. Provided the finish is good. And my hands don't get destroyed while building.

When EVGA shows something, it can be a month, to over a year. I never pay much attention to what EVGA does at CES. Sometimes it never even appears.

Over 3 years for a keyboard? it's already out of date then. I had "high expectations" about Evga. I thought after CLC, the next "thing" of Evga going to be releasing will be DG-7. But instead of DG-7, ICX released. And now you guys saying "don't wait". So, it's better to look an another chasis then, thank you for saving my time.

Look People
This is the 21st century
(Blue Ray? ...... What's that?)
( Front I/O's ??? ...... For what?)

This could be my My Dream case IF.........

#1
2X 140mm Fans Front Top & one in the back
I use my fans for LED effects as well as cooling
so a 140 in the back helps and is a bit quieter also

#2 Smoked Tempered glass Front and side
Get rid of the LOGO

#3
No hard drive bays or DVD bays (Whats a Blue Ray.......some kind of marine animal?)
With M.2 NVME and Thunderbolt
There's no need to have any internal 3.5mm or 5.25  bays anymore

#4
Windowed Shroud to show off my expensive PSU

#5
mounts for D5 pump and holes for res mounts

#6
No front or top I/O's
How many things do you plug into your case
And How many of you use the front Headphone jack..................Seriously ??????
If You want top or front I/O's ???
go to work in the morning and tell me how many times a day you use them

To Me..............IMO
These are the essentials for most High end Gamers
that want a smaller form factor but still have the ability to cool appropriately

The only reason Other companies are still putting 5.25 Front bays and I/O ports
is because that's what they have been doing since the 1980's

No one I know uses Front I/O' Ports
And for sure No one I know uses a DVD anymore
And if they need to .....they use a USB Blue Ray DVD on Thunderbolt

Put me down for at least One of these cases when you come the the 21st century

Regards, Rick

Less of a darker tint on the glass, and use less plastic than the dg-8 series. Also, more airflow on the ventilation portions, and dust filration is a must.

HI EVGA!

I cant stop drooling over this case! Any chance you can tell us what the dimensions are? Also, Optical Drives are so  1998. We don't need them. Also any chance of adding HDMI Pass through to the front of the case like the NZXT S340 Elite?? This makes things more convenient if your'e using VR.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing updates  on this case!

Re: EVGA wants feedback on DG-7 Case 2017/03/16 21:06:27 (permalink)
Ever since I pre-ordered my Ryzen build and got the parts, I have been looking for the perfect case.  From what I can find googling around is that this case is the one I've been looking for, for 5 months now.  I went crazy when I saw the CES live coverage that Gamers Nexus did on YouTube.

Do these brackets on the left support 3.5? ( the image says yes!!!) If they are, please leave them! or make it modular where people can slide the panel there back and forth depending on if they fill it with 2.5's  or 3.5's.  Modular cases is the way to go!

(The image was captured from Gamers Nexus's live coverage of CES 2017, I hope they don't mind!)

I have 4 2TB WD blacks that I can't go without, and I will need the front area for a Radiator and the Top as well, I havn't been able to find the right case because I couldn't mount my 4 3.5's!

I didn't want to go with a full tower as I'm space limited, and treating the side as the front is perfect for me ( my current pc is parallel with the wall with the front facing away from me ( the DG-8 didn't look right for me ;( )

I've been looking for a case with:
  • Mid-tower case with water cooling support and awesome airflow
  • Windowed ( with captive screws, or some good quality hinge ) or Tempered Glass side-panel ( with proper rubberized mounts with captive screws ) No tempered glass,  or window on the other side.
  • Both Front and Top radiator support with multiple 3.5 HDD's installed ( hidden )
  • No visible 3.5" drive caddies from the windowed side (enough room for longer video cards (13"), but not too much room between the motherboard and front intake area)
  • Hidden or modular 5.25" bays, or removed
  • Support for more than 2 3.5" HDD's ( will there be 2 caddies in the bottom for shorter radiators? )
  • PSU Shroud with SSD mounts
  • Cable management holes everywhere with grommets. And good cable management in general.
  • Top or side IO that can be hidden ( not front ) ( or modular ) ( i agree with a previous post about adding hdmi passthrough for VR)
  • Easy to remove(magnetic)/clean dust filters on ALL intakes, including the top no matter if its an intake or exhaust! ( except the rear fan of course as who uses that for an intake these days? ;) )

So really the DG-7 Matches all of these from the current information I can find!

Is there any more information than what's here on the Forums, Websites or on YouTube?

When can I pre-order! Thanks EVGA for finally showing me the case I've been looking for!

Please release this case, I don't care what you put in it, if it's a 5 1/4 Please make it modular, or have an option to not have it.

I own your DG-87 and I love It! But I think I'm going to turn it into a server. So I would like a new home for my 1080 Ti's. You have my pre order!

One 5.24 bay is good. I still use an optical drive.

^^This (well, +0.01)

I like the looks of this case; it looks better than the DG8 series but I need a 5.25 bay (or two).  I don't mind the EVGA logo on it and don't need the model number in big text.

Prefer the I/O in front as well.

Is it steel or brushed aluminum?
