Dumb Question: Is there any way to utilize my sc 17 as a regular monitor for a game console at times? I suspect that the display and hdmi ports are just one way out like most laptop. right?

    I don't think that possibly some rare laptop you can do that , my old ( sold it before buying this laptop ) alienware 17 had HDMI input .

    EVGA SC17 - 1070 No/GSYNC
    If only the 4K display didn't ghost that much :'(

    You would need to purchase a video capture device to input into the laptop. There are USB products available.
