nateman_doo Block installation: The Vreg just gets installed with 1 plastic washer on the outside insulating the board from the screw with 1mm thermal tape, and light pressure on the screws. You want light even pressure. Too much pressure will warp the board and make for more contact on the outer vregs and none on the middle ones. Thermal tape on both the vregs, and the chokes:
The chipset will be more time consuming, but by no means difficult. First clear out the area you are working with and dont work in the dark. The washers are black, so if you drop them they will be hard to see. The same as above where 1 washer insulates the screw from the board, but 2 washers together will act as a spacer on the top side of the board:
Then some thermal paste will work well on the chipset. I would recommend flipping the board upside down, and putting in the 3 screws (keep in mind 2 of them are 3-48, and 1 in the mobo hole is 4-40) and washer in the board, holding them with 3 fingers, and slipping the board back on a table to keep each screw in place. Place the block on top of the screws, and slide the board off the table so you can access 1 screw at a time and begin to rotate the screw until it catches and move on to the next. Remember light pressure.
Here is most of the batch:
Here is a set installed:
Thus the completed X99 Classified waterblocks are ready to go! (pending each individual leak test)
Completely different board. Now is nicest on market without doubt. I can't explain how I like this type of SATA Connectors.

Off to the vinegar bath for mine :) EDIT: OK deoxidized and sitting in a bath of Mayhem X1 until I can install them. 2 things I noticed: one of the VRM screws that attaches the delrin to the copper was shorter than the rest. Also, there was some reside in the corners of the interior cavity of the VRM block that looked like jeweler's rouge. q-tip took care of it. Other than that they look good.

Running at 26C on the VRM with 1.950 vin Edit: I went with 1.5mm Fujipoly padding, worked great. Glad I got these blocks, one of the VRM's was only 1/3 covered by padding with the stock setup. Keeping track of those washers on a matte black and red table was like taking a direct punch to the bean bag, but I founded upon them eventually! haha

send a PM to nateman, see if he has any slots open. After that you will need to wait for the FTW blocks to be done, and he will begin on the Micro's.

Putting together a build tomorrow with the x99 micro in a enthoo evolv case... Pretty excited. I think these would make a nice addition.

Good timing. making FTW and micro's next. Just shoot me an email, the link is in the bottom of the signature block here. I will probably bang out a prototype in the next few days for the Micro to send to someone to test fit it. Sadly I didn' get a donor board so this will add much time to the process for the Micro. The chipsets for the micro also fit the FTW board so I may send them out to a FTW owner to verify as well.

The screws I normally use are 4-40 5/16th, but a 1/4" might have slipped into the bunch (just a 16th of an inch shorter) I can usually spot it with the naked eye but It happens sometimes when you work till 3 am. It really doesn't make a difference since some blocks I use 1/4" length screws.

I see lot of single slot GTX980 graphic cards here...GeForce series 9 with chipset X99... Now this motherboard with blocks is nicest X99 motherboard, really. Before... SATA Connectors, angled 24pin, angled internal USB 3.0 are very nice details and only help to mobo look crazy good. Titan based GPU, GTX7xx Classified, new style GTX980 reference, GTX980 K|NGP|N ...color scheme fit fantastic with motherboard I would like to every processor OC as mine 3770K on Z77 FTW. That's nothing special for extreme overclockers but for me so good improvement.

At 1.950v vin and 1.390v core I'm at 26C now from the bios at 22C ambient. I'm sure the load temp isn't much higher since a fan quickly cooled the sink beforehand. The vrm initially was 38C in the bios
