I don't think EVGA made this board for the cash they will be raking in. Socket 2011 is on its way out. They will probably take a pretty good loss. I believe they made it just for their loyal customers and to reclaim top spot.

You guys, X79 and socket 2011 is not going to be on its way out for a very long time. I think A lot of people will skip Haswel-E considering small advancement they're making..weeewhoooo 2 more cores!!! I think most E users will hold off until new techs come into play before abandoning their X79 platforms.

"Close" is a subjective term in this case. That's why "close" really doesn't matter. Something specific like a date or timeframe with specific dates. I'm shocked people still fall for the carrot leading the horse each week. That's how it's been and nothing so far concrete has been shown otherwise.
Best case scenario is this was a complete blunder with handling in regards to reaching out and explaining the situation to the customers. Product ships sometime to customers this week.
Worst case scenario lying to your customers simply to buy time. Lying to your customers and knowingly selling faulty products. This would mean your buisness model has changed and I for one would run as far away from EVGA as possible.
I personally have assured 1 of 2 possibilities for myself. Either I end up getting a fully working product that I paid for or I'll see EVGA in court to fight for my money back. Now I just sit and see which happens first.

I suspect the boards are in Los Angeles waiting for the longshoreman to offload them off the ship. That takes time. Folks, just relax! Container ships hit the ports here in Seattle at a phenomenal rate and I suspect Los Angeles and San Francisco are even more so busy.

I should add that once the boards are unloaded they have to reach the EVGA warehouse, be counted... in some cases tested before being released etc. For those that think a business works magic by snapping their fingers, I suspect you live in a dream world. Meanwhile, head to the local Taco joints, snap you fingers and get your product. Might take ya a bit but heck... ya know it's instant gratification.

Actually I'm a truck driver and I do a lot of work at the ports. Los Angeles ports specifically. It doesn't take nearly as long as you think. You can unload a whole ship filled with containers within hours and all those containers on a truck heading to their destination that same day. No magic or snapping of fingers needed. The port and rail systems are quite efficiant. This is normal operation, not as if its fast if you're lucky.
From Port (if Los Angeles) 12 hours to 1 day tops. The rest is all EVGA's hold up. The suspected testing, hours of operation and such. So until they have a solid date ( which they don't have so neither will we) it will be nothing but stall tactics which I called long ago in earlier posts.

End cap mentality is what I call it. We now know EVGA will also be flashing the BIOS to the latest version. That will take a bit of time. I don't see how this is stalling. I shall call it what it is and not what you wish to define it as. This is getting it right and making sure the customer gets the product they expect. You don't brew a beer in a day. That much I know as a home brewer.

I'm not difining anything. The facts do that for me. All you have to do is read and it's obvious. You can call it whatever you like. Lipstick on a pig...
As a home brewer I'm sure you have a reasonable estimate of when your product will be ready. Regardless if it takes you months or years to get the balance you need for the taste you desire. You wouldn't keep saying next week every week. No, you wouldn't because you aren't incompetent and you know your craft. Im not a home brewer. This is what ive found out going to microbreweries and asking some friends that do this. Delays are normal, it's the way the delays were handled that is shady.

Actually I have one batch (a La Fin du Monde) in the fermenter that should have been racked 6 days after brew day. It's not ready yet and at the rate it's going it's hard to say when it will be. Maybe a week, maybe two weeks. It depends on the conditions. Perhaps after that I might actually be able to say it only needs two weeks in the secondary then bottle it and I'm good. My point is... I don't see EVGA being shady any more than I see the combination of yeasts and sugars being deceptive in their time to complete the fermentation process. It takes patience and time and careful crafting to make things.

You're comparing yeast and sugars chemical reaction to people making decisions. One is for the most part natural although somewhat manipulated. The other is thought out and planned ( or at least it should be.) You don't see it that way, that's good for EVGA. I tend to go with where the evidence leads instead of what I want to believe is all I'm saying.

No what I'm saying is... even the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. I understand your thoughts and your thought process. However to call a company shady because the product time line slipped is a bit of a stretch I think. However, believe as you will. I hear that Kingpin says things might happen today. I'm also hoping this will put the final nail in the coffin and close the door completely on an event that favored neither the owner or the manufacturer.

When EVGA stated week after week the MB would be released. I called them out with a post in this very thread that they had no MB's other than a prototype or two and what they gave Kingpin. Now they say they are on a boat. Seems I was right and they out right lied. That's proof regardless of how you see it. You can verify this yourself if you wish. And yes I do hope this all ends soon.

You know only one thing has a set release date in the US, and that's movies and...................... Call of duty... Pretty much when they announce it'll be out on this day, it will be out that day. As for EVGA they should have known that the rabid fan base and if they couldn't meet projected target, laid off on what day (next week next week) and just updated with "We will update you guys on the ETA as soon as we can" or something like that. Heck take a look at how George from Corsair handled the 900D thread on OCN when the product had to get pushed back. And in the end they ended up shipping the 1st batch from China to Corsair by plane because it was taking so long but his answers where always honest and told us why it was delayed from that point and never gave OCN community the "next week guys" response, till he was absolutely sure it was gonna be that week.

People need to chill out and understand delays happen. A lot of you act as if you want another x79 disaster where things don't work properly. So what if they delayed the motherboards multiple times and for 8 months? If it really affected you that much you would have already purchased a different brand.

Everyone's situation is different. You can't speak on everyone's situation.
Everyone knows delays happen and that's frustrating enough and I believe most people can deal with that.
The issue is the lying, not giving refunds etc. How are you supposed to trust a company that sells a faulty product, lies to you about it, finally admits it, won't give a refund but will exchange for another faulty product. Still wont give you a refund, you keep paying for shipping to them for RMA's, lead you on purposely lying to you that the new improved product is coming out (is that a lie too?).
I don't see any over reacting when dealing with these facts. As I said before, it's not so much the delay. Take the delay aspect out of it and as a paying customer you have plenty to be upset about. Need I even bring up the "Step-Up" program?
