This is Haswell-E, Nereus... late 2014 or mid 2015 I'm talking about Ivy Bridge-E, 6 cores, that will come out on september 4th 2013 (or 11th) Unfortuntely for some of you guys, my link is in french: http://www.tomshardware.fr/articles/ivy-bridge,1-38005.html The original (french): Les processeurs utiliseront toujours le connecteur LGA2011 et son antique chipset X79, qui ne prend en charge que l'USB 2.0 et seulement deux connecteurs SATA 6 Translated: Processors always use the LGA2011 connector and its ancient X79 chipset, which supports only USB 2.0 and two SATA 6 connectors

Basically motherboard makers add the USB 3.0 controller to enable USB 3.0 compatibility. I am no expert so not sure how that 'mates' with the CPU.. probably through the SouthBridge. Here's some good basic info on PC architecture.. interesting stuff. [ link]

You appear on the forums of a motherboard vendor to ask a question that many would say comes off as trolling. You source one and only once source for your question for which a simple search could provide an answer for. If anything you could've have simply asked yourself why would EVGA not have USB 3.0 compatibility on the X79 Dark when their entire Z87, X79, Z77, and Z68 line of motherboards have it?

Just a guess here but, they usually add new items to the Available Products listing (Above) a few weeks before the product is available for sale. The X87 series has been up for weeks (and is still not available) and there is not even a listing for X79 Dark yet. Looks like we still have a few weeks to go, if they are sticking with their usual pattern.

Yeah, but it's not just x79. All new boards are being advertised with no prices. There are some decent Asus boards where RMA is not an issue. So why not. Continued silence from EVGA isn't a sign of quality. It doesn't inspire confidence
