So back in January of this year when they said coming soon they meant 6-8 months later? It'll be funny to see August turn into September like previous said release months rolling over to the next, and don't act like anyone here in the forums will be surprised. The "boat" probably has the very late to the party Z87 motherboards too. I wonder if that has anything to do with the X79 Dark delay. You look at the responses from EVGA about the Z87 release and there very similar to what is being told in here about the X79 Dark.

Won't be surprised at all. I could see this happening earlier this year so I held on. I should have bought a RIVE then and been up and running. Unfortunately I spent the money on other rigs, which I am equally happy with, but now means I might skip the x79 platform altogether. Like others here.

Well the Z87 boards (some not all) have issues since its the USB 3.0, so we're getting C2 Stepping and EVGA is working through that. So that's understandable. The X79 Dark however... Doubt we'll see that till September when the Ivy E ships.

If this is true then I will drop the X79 Dark! I guess I now will start looking for a new board now, this is a real, real bummer sorry EVGA.

Z87 is a different story as we made the decision to ship with a new chipset stepping. X79 Dark actually is already on the way, but we are putting some final BIOS touches on it while we wait for it to arrive.

WUHS09 News on the X79 Dark- Date Sent 11 mins. ago From EVGA_JacobF To WUHS09 "WUHS09 Hello Jacob, I have been waiting for the X79 DARK for sometime now and have the money set aside for the upgrade program that has been set up since the beginning of this month and would like to finally get that going but each day that goes by, there is no word on when it will happen on the forums. It is the end of the month and you said it would be Mid July, well that has come and past, so curious when it will be. I am going to be moving out of my parents soon for college and would for this to be done before then or before mid August really when college starts. That is when I may not have the money anymore for this board to get upgraded. So is there a date for this yet or no? "
For X79 Dark, yes the original date did slip unfortunately, but I can say now that the boards have already shipped and are on the way to our warehouse now (via boat) so this takes a few weeks. Right now the best estimate I have is first week of August. They are being shipped finally to the warehouse so it should be soon!! :) First let me preface this by noting that I've worked in inventory scheduling for a manufacturing plant before. Unless EVGA is air shipping these from wherever Foxcon is (I'm assuming they're still using them for the Dark and air freight is ridiculously expensive) *Edit: I see it is by boat, you can estimate 8 weeks on the water for a container boat. This means either they shipped weeks ago (to make the August date) or we've all got a good long while left before they get here.

The lack of communication on EVGA's part is honestly pitiful. I've gone thru 3 RMA's myself and the only way I could get the board to work with USB3 was to DISABLE it and buy a usb3 card to get some of the usb ports back for some of my other devices. It was cheaper than having to send $$ on shipping charges time and again to hopefully get a working board. I like others are completely fed up with how EVGA has handled this. Why do we have to pay you another $150.00 when you had already said their is a flaw in the X-79 boards. Guess what that's an error on EVGA's part not ours. If you want me to cough up another 150.00 to "upgrade" my board then you better cross-ship the dark on your dime not mine. The way I see it is I bought your FAULTY product which you admitted to (if I had known this before hand I would have bought a RIVE but I bought this in the first 1 to 2 months it was out). I don't owe you anything, but you owe me a 100% working board. Carl

The disparity in my estimate is due to non-stop shipments and indirect shipments. The ships can make several stops on the way to the East coast, and that adds several days per stop to the trip. I have never made the trip myself, but my brother owns a company that regularly imports containers from China.

I've done all the patches you guys have posted and more, reloaded my system from scratch several times to no avail. Sorry if i seem skeptical but I've lost faith in EVGA. Well we really have to wait now till September before we can upgrade our current X79 MB. Would we have to pay full price to get one today and then get a refund for an upgrade? I received my 2nd GTX TITAN Hydro Copper Signature today from Amazon and now only need this new great X79 Dark motherboard to make this real. Bill

EVGA_JacobF Halo_003 EVGA_JacobF Z87 is a different story as we made the decision to ship with a new chipset stepping. X79 Dark actually is already on the way, but we are putting some final BIOS touches on it while we wait for it to arrive. Can I send my X79 Classified board right now? That way when the Dark gets to you you can ship it out to me first thing. Not joking, I really need that board before August 3rd at latest. Edit: Hell, I'll even pay right now if you'll let me. Edit2: F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5 Sorry not at this moment, but will look into it as we get closer. Please let me/us know at least a week in advance so we have time to ship. Thanks.

You'd be surprised how many people would be willing to put down a preorder. Obviously they can't charge you till it ships but its still almost a presale with someone saying they have the money, right?

I've been waiting for this board. By the looks of it might as well stick with z77 until x99 comes out.
