I'm sorry XrayMan but neither of those two posts you deleted were 'personal' attacks. We are simply defending our right to voice our opinions on being sold a lemon of a motherboard and EVGA's poor offerings as a result. When someone comes onto this thread (or others relating to it) and defends a product that they DO NOT own and have no experience with it, do we not have a right to speak out? A bit of 'over-moderation' has gone on here. I'll say it again, those who have no experience with EVGA's X79 MB's or the issues relating to them shouldn't be posting comments in order to irritate those who do, they are the ones who should be moderated.

Calling another member a "Troll" is not a personal attack? Wow! Personal Attacks - Personal attacks often lead to the trading of insults, and can throw the discussion of a legitimate topic off-track. Personal attacks can be defined as issuing a single or repeated personal attack or attacks aimed at another member, rather than at their opinions or ideas. Criticizing a member's post is not considered a personal attack, but using terms such as "child," "idiot," "fanboy," for example, or any other derogatory term designed to discredit a member, is not permitted. Furthermore, comments of a racist or sexist nature, as well as derogatory comments about national origin or sexual orientation, will be dealt with harshly as in a ban from the forums.

No, calling someone a troll, when clearly that is what they are doing is not a personal attack, it is a statement of their actions. Do you guys condone trolling?

What part of the Moderator's warning did you not get? Just because someone does not fully support your ranting and bashing of everything EVGA does not make them a troll. Ironically, the post you chose to quote and attack me personally on was a post where I was actually sympathizing with someone being stuck with water blocks for their x79 board! Be careful you don't become exactly what you are throwing accusations at others of being...

There you go again. And it was the last part of your post which wasn't necessary yet you did it to get a rise, along with many of your other posts in this thread and the other x79 DARK thread. If you don't have anything constructive to post apart from annoying people that have problems with the MB they bought, go elsewhere.

No worries, everyone here knows what he is doing. There is having an opinion and then there is "trolling". You don't want me to refer to him as that? very well he isn't a troll, he's just committing the act of trolling is that better? When you purposely come into a thread about a product that has absolutely nothing to do with you and try to downplay or even mock the "crap" others have to put up with in order to get a rise out of people, that is exactly what trolling is. I don't pretend to tell you how to moderate, I am not even asking you to do something about the trolling but it just seems silly that you moderate one but not the other. In any case the trolling wins and I give up. No point in trying to warn others, or ask for amends when this is the end result. I'll stick to the market place the only remaining area that still serves it's function. Seeing as we can't discuss anything without being trolled and "moderated". Good day sir

@lordshinro, I completely agree. chememan iamSneaky If you don't have anything DESTRUCTIVE to post apart from annoying people that have problems with the MB they bought, go elsewhere. I fixed that for you, and you're welcome. Thanks .. for sure, could have come up with something more original than that, it's been done a million times before chememan However, there are still a few of us that believe that the forums are here for purposes besides bashing EVGA 24/7. Correction, no one is 'bashing' EVGA, just stating our displeasure at how we have been treated and the poor option we have to get a 'working' MB. EVGA have some great products, no one has said ALL of their products are crap. How about you go out and buy a X79 DARK only you are forced to pay $600+ for it, then you may have some idea of what we have to do to get a working MB. chememan Did you really just tell Nereus to go elsewhere if he was not here to bash EVGA? Seriously? Now now, you know I said nothing of the sort, this could be considered trolling as well. chememan I actually thought this thread was about the Dark, not problem that you are having with your (non-dark) board. Another correction, Well in fact, because of the problems with our X79 MB, we are forced to 'Step-Up' to the X79 DARK, so it is related. Same could be said to you, nothing you have said relates to the X79 DARK, seems you only posted to stir up more trouble. Congratz for that. Any more updates on when the DARK will be released? I'm still betting it will be early to mid August like the EVGA Taiwan CS rep told me.

Nothing to do with me??? I am a long-term EVGA product user, and am waiting for the Dark, as I have said many times, and that is what this thread is about! Everyone is allowed an opinion, as long as it agrees with yours, right? That is all you have said here. Guess what that makes you? Yup, it starts with T and ends with roll.

Thanks Chememan for the rationality. :) Sorry you were also accused of being a troll and only posting to stir up trouble, just because your opinion does not agree 100% with the accuser's, when all you wanted to know about was the new mobo. No surprise there though. Ditto X-Ray, appreciated. Sorry if I'm starting to lose my cool a bit the last 2 posts.

From reddit link: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1ifcss/hello_from_evga_the_1_nvidia_partner_in_north/ [–]DasWax 1 point 56 minutes ago I gotta ask, when will the EVGA Dark be released? I have seen constant delays since April? I need a working EVGA x79 board ASAP since my EVGA x79 FTW still doesn't work 100% and RMAing is useless since all of them use bad hardware (according to all the EVGA forum posts). reply [–]EVGA_Jacobf 1 point 29 minutes ago Yes, X79 Dark unfortunately missed its original target window. I can say that it is REALLY close right now, the hardware is done. What is being worked on right now is the BIOS side, we are still making sure it is absolutely perfect. The BIOS side (hardware too) is a HUGE upgrade from previous X79 and even Z77, I would say night and day difference.

LOL ..so now you're basically hoping that EVGA mess up the x79 Dark, just out of spite? Nice one. Yeah ok whatever bud, you sit tight there with your FTW, the waaahmbulance will be along soon to fix you up. I'm fairly confident EVGA are going to put out a great mobo in the x79 Dark ...they kind of have to really, after what has gone on with the EVGA x79 lineup to date. I'm looking forward to it. Barring disastrous experiences within the first week or two of release, I will grab one, and either give the RIVF to my wife or sell it.. still not sure what to do with that.. since I also have an i7-980 and E770 mobo she can use (she currently has an i7-930 & 759 mobo). Both those EVGA x58 boards have run perfectly from day one.

OMG why do people keep bringing up the cargument? It is not the same thing. LOL.
awalleyeguy I'm just looking forward to getting rid of the paperweight on my table. Since I could never sell it in good conscience. Not sure what to do with the never used water blocks. Probably couldn't give board and blocks away. Have pay to throw them out LOL.
Oh yeah now that really does suck.. do those waterblocks fit any other board? Probably not. There are obviously some boards out there functioning perfectly well though, so I hope you can find a buyer amongst them.
I wonder how many of these boards EVGA actually sold? Clearly there are quite a lot of people here with issues, but I wonder what percentage of all the boards out there are experiencing problems? I am guessing thousands have been sold, but certainly there are not thousands having issues, or these forums would be far more flooded with complaints than they are at present. ..or maybe it's just that a lot of people don't use USB 3.0, which seems to be one of the bigger issues with these boards.
Nereus,
I don't know what these guys are talking about my EVGA x79 FTW is the best board in the world hell Kingpin himself broke world records with the x79 series! The only board that I would consider better is the x79 Dark! So I've decided to be generous to you!
Send me your ASUS Rampage IV Formula and I'll send you my X79 FTW with Invoice. The board works great except the occasional USB ports not turning on every other boot, and the PCI-E slots won't run in anything other than PCI-E 2.0 x8, but hey Kingpin set records with this thing..also on occasion your overclocks will always fail. However EVGA has proven how awesome they are as a company by offering you this once in a life time upgrade! After our swap just Step up the board for $150 + shipping and you'll have the amazing x79 Dark.
I know this seems too good to be true, but as a EVGA advocate I figure you of all people would appreciate having this amazing board and amazing opportunity to upgrade to a Dark x79, It's just too much board for me. Don't worry you don't have to pay the difference between our boards!
Shoot me a PM!
I might take you up on that, if the Dark turns out good. To buy Dark new would cost me $400. I could then sell the RIVF for what.. $250 if I'm lucky? .. net cost to get rid of RIVF and have a Dark would be about $150 to me. Or I could get your board and pay $150 to upgrade to Dark. Same cost. But why should I give you a board that retails at $375 when the FTW retails at $100 less? No, you'd have to give me your board plus $100 before I'd consider it, and I would be winning there.
Gee, I guess you're better off with your X79 FTW than you realized! See what I did there?
A hundred bucks to buy my way out of this mistake today, as opposed to two hundred... who knows when, still sounds like a good deal right about now.

iamSneaky Nereus LOL ..so now you're basically hoping that EVGA mess up the x79 Dark, just out of spite? Nice one. Yeah ok whatever bud, you sit tight there with your FTW, the waaahmbulance will be along soon to fix you up. No no no no, just the board you get and the RMA after that and the next one lol and to quote myself: Some of the rhetoric is akin to what might be heard in a school yard. Nereus I'm fairly confident EVGA are going to put out a great mobo in the x79 Dark ...they kind of have to really, after what has gone on with the EVGA x79 lineup to date. I'm looking forward to it. OH ... the contradiction in that comment is hilarious I will be selling my X79 DARK I get for step up, only way I can get back 'some' of my lost money, I just hope it works for the poor bugger I sell it to. If all else fails though, it is a great looking board. Mate, if you had bothered reading my posts throughout this thread, I have not denied that there are issues with some of the existing x79 boards, so please explain why you are so intent on making repeated personal attacks on me, and explain where this contradiction is? hmm? Please show me, and make sure you put any quotes in their context too. At present it appears you are attacking me because I am not all-out bashing EVGA now & forever for this issue like you are... As far as the school-yard rhetoric goes, yes I agree, calling people trolls because they don't adhere 100% to your view, and then making statements such as above that you hope my mobo fails on me.. yeah.. definitely school-yard stuff. The waaaahmbulance comment from me was along the same lines too, I admit, but at least I recognize that.

☄ Helpful
How about staying back on topic of the DARK and not go around saying stuff to different people whether one board is better than another. I normally read all the posts but today, 90% of them where off topic. Just skimmed by them today. I am signed up to receive a DARK board because I want to give it a chance and take the risk that it will be better then my current FTW right now. To me, if you don't take a risk, you won't know the reward and you could miss out on a great opportunity. Just waiting for it to come out now, patience is key and hope they work out all the problems.

I totally agree with this. This going back and forth at each other has to stop. Stay on topic!

*looks around* If I see a legit review from a trusted reviewer saying the Dark works and the bios is good, I may consider shelling out $150.00 more for an EVGA x79 board that works. Only because even after all, I still have some misguided sense of loyalty to the company. It won't withstand months of waiting for my step up to come around after the board finally launches though, so I hope at least that is handled well. If that isn't on topic enough, tough. *exits thread grumbling*

If that isn't on topic enough, tough. *exits thread grumbling* Won't matter what a reviewer says, look at the reviews for the EVGA Z77 and X79 line. They are all good, the issue is long term reliability with day to day use. Most reviewers for the X79 test bed us a Asus Rampage IV Extreme because that's the benchmark X79 board that's proven to be reliable. So till the X79 Dark gets to around that status just wait it. I've made up my mind and willing to jump into the infested waters and get a X79 Dark and it will be in my main rig so I will know if something goes to ssshhhhh...

It's called x79 Dark because that's exactly what we are...in the dark.
