Looks like an error, it will be available in Europe also. We are fixing now.

Sir,

I am impressed...This program looks to be better then I thought it would be.

I'll be sending a board in to try the new dark...Not getting my hopes up but, it just got a little brighter in this office.

It is treated much like the EVGA Step-Up Program, once we receive the board it will take about 1-2 business days and we will send out the new one.

Jacob,
I called EVGA Support this week because my Classified went partly belly-up, which I posted about right here, and talked to Dave B.

This line from your announcement:
"If the board is not in working condition or has physical damage, the upgrade will be rejected or additional fees may apply"

gives me pause, because Dave said in his confirmation email to me:
"We understand that your board is malfunctioning and in need of RMA.  Per our discussion, you are waiting for the Dark, and whatever promo Jacob mentioned in the forums.  I see no reason that the failed DIMM slots you mentioned will exclude you from this promotion when it is finalized, as these types of issues will not exclude you from a normal Stepup."

So...... do I REALLY have to do an RMA on this partly bad board, to get a fully working board, and THEN have to use the new one for the Step-up so I'm not caught by that last bit about being  "rejected or have additional fees may apply" ?

Color me concerned.......

Awesome. I have a few questions though.

1. I know on the X79 Classified it takes more voltage than other boards to get the same clocks, generally about .1V extra. does the Dark fix this?
2. Is USB stable on the Dark?
3. Is overclock potential better?

I assume yes to all of these but I'd like confirmation. Thanks.

I'm happy for all you X79 users that had all the issue's and now finally looks like a good solution here.  Also happy to finally get some more news and info about this new board.  It's the last piece I need for my new build...

Dear TheSidewinder,

I can confirm that you may participate in this promotion, but if the board is found to have physical damage causing this problem then you will be contacted once received.

Dear Ultracidio,

I am very sorry as I am a little confused by your question. I can confirm that after the board becomes available you will be in a queue and once approved and paid you will need to send your product into your local EVGA office at your own expense and then once received we will ship the new X79 Dark upgrade product with the shipping option that you selected and paid for on the next phase of this promotion.

I can confirm that we will return the product once received with the shipping option that you choose on the upgrade process, but you will need to ship the product into us however you prefer once the process asks you to send in the product for this promotion.

I don't have a prior X79 board to replace, but I did activate the "Auto Notify" so I can get in line at launch time.  I will admit to being a bit nervous about jumping in right away before reviewers post back after all the previous issue's with the X79 line...
But I'll be posting up my thoughts of the board after I get one up & running here...

Now that the Dark is finished, any plans to revisit existing X79 products for fixes? I really don't want to shell out $200 when I don't need any new features; all I need is for my current motherboard to work reliably.
