I never bothered to ask, I know with most cpu blocks and the like, there are specified inlet and outlet ports for each hole. Are your Vreg and Chipset blocks machined differently under each port? Or does it matter?

eventually, the water in every loop stabilizes at a specific temp.  My blocks go either direction, you can install the hoses as you wish.

This will be my first chipset/vreg water cool. What are people using to connect chipset to cpu to vreg? I'm thinkin just a couple 90 deg connecters and PVC tubing. Any better ideas or experiences for this board and these blocks?

A part of me feels 90's would be good along with rigid acrylic tubing given the short distance it's traveling. The thing is with a large amount of 90 degree angles I feel like it must have an effect on flow. I kind of picture the loop running into a flat wall and changing direction everytime there is a 90 degree angle.

Rigid tubing can lessen the effect of 90 deg angles as usually the radius on bends are not too sharp and you have control
over how you bend the tube anyway.

So you are saying use normal connector then bend rigid tubing in a gradual arc to lesson the flow disruption? That would probably be best. Though I would have to get a proper tube bending kit.

Well you would have to use the Rigid tube compression fittings of course but yes, rigid tube bends are not as
severe a direction change as regular 90 deg fittings. There is a lot more effort involved in Rigid tubing
but it is pretty cost effective, the bending kits are pretty cheap and you can use a Hair Drier if you do not have
a heat gun.

Everyone who took care of the invoice will get a tracking number today.  I am pretty sure that the blocks going to NYC & NJ will arrive tomorrow.

OMG so excited to finally get this block. I realized I better wait until I have it installed before buying the fittings and hoses. I didn't want to be guessing on hose lengths and appropriate fitting angles. It looks fantastic from here. I will post an installed pic ASAP

Mine arrived today. Thanks so much Nate, I really appreciate the work!

Sadly, I won't have any temp info for a while since I'm waiting till I get my 4960x before I install these. Build is already done and complete without them and with a 4820k in it. So I want to only tear it down once and do both changes.

Re:EVGA X79 DARK WATERBLOCK 2014/06/13 03:29:01 (permalink)
hey nate I have not read the entire thread, but have gone through about 25 pages :P has anyone asked for a 680 classy block? ive been debating this forever. I used to have 2 680 classy's with hydrocoppers, had to sell one, and now want to buy another one again to make a set butttttttt.... waterblocks are nowhere to be found of course ;P i have been debating on selling it and going with a different card, or finding out if i could get a block made. was wondering if you could make a near replica of the hydrocopper (obviously with a slight variance since its more than likely patented). obviously could care less about stickers and the nickel plating on the bottom, just a bare copper bottom and black copper top would be fine by me. If you can do it, I might just sell the waterblock i have, and get 2 that you can make :) thanks in advance, keep up the good work man, followed you in the get it colder 1 and 2 threads, your a god ;P

I also know of some people looking for blocks for 680 classy's as well. I can point them in the right direction if you have the ability for the work load :)

I literally just got my Vreg block from Nate today, looks amazing cant wait to get it in and running. Then I saw your post and thought, "damnit, I want one too". Ive been searching for a 680 classy block for a while as well and havent found anything but universal blocks (boooooo). If your up to the challenge nate I'd strongly consider getting one as well. Especially since the 800 series is now projected to "2015 sometime"

I met Deathstroke44 because he was selling in classy. I must say I would also like to see waterblocks for them. I would definitely take 2 of them if you were up to the task. I must say your work is very impressive. I just joined here not long ago. I'm not one for forums usually but I see how much I miss out on now lol.

There seems to be a demand for the 680's, so I will happily take care of your needs. Remember I can't exactly "mass produce" them, just small batches.
