Recently EVGA has seized all production for their Hydro Copper series graphics cards and waterblocks. For us watercoolers this is a big deal. Watercooling offers a slew of advantages (For those who don't know):

-Much quieter operation
-Less heat to overclock or in other words make your GPU run faster
-Less volume (Half as thin!)
-Increased component longevity

Plus it just looks awesome. So please, please sign by clicking I do. We need everyone to pitch together to start up production again. I know I'm not the only one who wants this fantastic product, for the true enthusiast, to be made once again. Thanks!

I'd like to know the [real] reasoning behind them pulling production. I'm guessing it has something to do with Swifttech...

That said, this really only affects classified 680 users. There are plenty of third party blocks for the reference/ftw 680, as well as 690's.

This was said from Jacob an hour ago:

Right now there are no waterblocks in production.

Whether or not a new production kicks off depends on demand, and as there is a minimum order QTY, this has not been done yet... That is not to say we will never kick off another production run, but as of right now there is nothing in production.

A internet poll to start up production again? Like that is going to help.

It may, demand drives production, if there is enough demand, there can be another production run :)

Somebody's gotta be trollin the poll.

Thats what I was thinking, I should have just put a Yes option but they required to have 2. I might redo it.

Redid the poll with different website. All that matters is the amount of people who want to buy it not the trolls who don't.

I meant to call it a petition I'll change the title. I know it sounds stupid, but truly someone had to be trolling the poll using a proxy or something.

EVGA isn't going to restart production based off a single internet poll that can be influenced via proxy.

You could actually start a petition (not poll, that requires a bit of info filled out) if you really wanted to get numbers. I'm just not sure why they would stop production of waterblocks. Ever since the original 680 hydrocopper released there were always people asking when it was going to be back in stock, and the same can be said for the individual blocks for the 680 classy and 690. Again, I think there's something going on here that we aren't hearing. It just doesn't add up.

Thats why I didn't want to start a petition, it requires too much information from people, causing people not to sign.

1. Jacob responded that its a good way to start, even if it doesn't work, at least I tried.
2. This new website can't be influenced using a proxy, I checked.

A internet poll to start up production again? Like that is going to help.

More like you need to do a group buy with people paying in ahead of time.

Think they said they need to order a batch so probably 20 peeps before they actually call in for an order.

How is that mentality not good for any kind of business?  Its gone out of production and they've told us it has.  The end of life has come to the 600 series and it was sounded off when the 650>640 and lesser models rolled out.  I'm sure EVGA did a count of how much they could actually sell without having overstock just sitting around.

If you really needed a plate for the 680 Classy ForzenCPU last time still had them.

As for the 690 waterblock its a reference card and you have a pick of other manufactures who has blocks for sale.

So once again how is a group buy a bad thing?  You see it all the time on car forums with out of production rims.  Guy wants said rims, finds out others want said rims, guy contacts manufacture, manufacture says they need a order XX to make them, Guy makes group buy thread, people put your money where your mouth is, group buy falls through and said people gets rims.

Then everyone won't get to vote because not everyone will have 20 posts and will need to get those 20 before voting.

I need the 680 Classified block; I bought the card a few months ago and now I'm putting together the cooling system. I already bought a res and rads and a custom case then discovered the gpu block is no more :(

I feel your pain! I purchased my 4 680 classifieds a week ago planning to water cool them. I honestly would have never foreseen an issue with the availability of these. After a couple hours of searching I finally found my last block.

This is a little bit of a different situation.

  1. You know they are making a huge markup on the waterblocks. $169 for a block that was just so-so, and priced 30+% higher than competition
  2. A lot of people clearly still want them.
  3. Make more blocks. ???. Profit.
