Opinions? smaller, and works with fittings. You guys stare at that for a while. Heading to bed.
you can simulate natural look and show it to us?

I guess between the graphics card is not enough space for the fittings.

For those running single or dual GPU's I am sure it would work OK but 3 or more may be a bit cramped. TBH Nate, I am interested in the Chipset block but I would be much happier with the original design. If you are not happy with the shape, just make the delrin top over sized and more square shaped (don't match the shape of the copper base). I think I mentioned this before. :-) Something like EK have done with their RIVE block?:

the reason I am not happy with the shape, is because of how tight the 2 fittings are against each other. they practically touch, which does not allow any room for hose clamps. I don't know what CPU blocks people are using, so I want to move the inlets where there is lots of room. This current design can accommodate all forms of SLI, as long as the first card is water cooled. A full sized air card will not work. I have had success with this approach in the past, but shoe-horning inlets by the cpu block might not work.

Will Compression fittings work with the first design? I thought you tested that and it was fine? Also, you can use extenders to raise one fitting above the other to allow for more room. Same can be done if using a CPU water-block (that may get in the way) to clear it.

This is a 4 way sli system and is the slimmest fitting for 1/2 inch tubing.

no. neither will traditional fittings. Looking at these 2 pictures, the circles your looking at are 0.5" (which is the threads). A traditional bitspower fitting is 0.71" at the base. Then the hose sliding over it is thicker then that. Then a hose clamp over that. Even if you use automotive style thin metal hose clamps, they are too close together. If i end up moving other things around, it won't have as good a seal. not to mention we are well into the CPU footprint. As for the EVGA Hydro copper blocks, They would be incompatible with this design. Their blocks are just too thick then every other waterblock manufacturer. If someone can show me their CPU cooler installed, that would be helpful.

Here you go nateman. I'm also in the HydroCopper block boat, so if the fittings can't be next to the CPU block, then I'll have to pass on the Chipset Block.

That pic is very helpful. it seems that your block doesnt take up any part of the "cpu square" as i call it (the white outline on the board). It seems that I can take the block damn near to the CPU bracket itself. I will work on another drawing. Any other CPU block pictures?

If you make it a 'through' hole, can just use a longer screw and still use it as a block and MB mount. Also nate, still waiting for you to send me the paypal info, check my last PM ;-)

I guess I could do that as well. a 6/32 hole fits in that location, but do people want a hole going through the waterblock? if the motherboard is horizontal it doesn't matter since gravity is holding the motherboard in place, but vertical mounts with multiple video cards need the extra support of the through hole.

This might just be my personal but could you square off the rounded corner in that block? I think it would match the other block and suit the board a bit better...

Nate, I would give input but I am leaving it up to you. I will be using three cards with water blocks but I a fortunate that they do not cover the entire card. I am using Koolance blocks. My Cpu cooler is a Swiftech Apogee Drive II and my hose connections are on the top of the board. I use 1/2" fittings and I am really glad you are concidering this.

I do try to appease everyone. acesi, the corner that is not rounded is going over the only other chip that the factory heatsink makes contact with. i will put a small round on it, but it don't want it to not make good contact. oh, speaking of boatswain. he brought up a good point about power connectors a little while back. The power connectors that I have don't really interfere, but some folks with bulky power connectors might have a small issue. There are amazing things that can happen with an razor knife, but can I see pictures of your 8 pin CPU plugs?

Sorry nateman_doo, I actually meant the other way around. As in, can you make the block more square on the large section. I just think it will suit the rest of the board a little better. Does that make more sense? I can try to show you what I mean in paint if you like (I have to photoshop skills what-so ever!. )

go for it with paint. This was the power connecter I was talking about: I have no problems with the power connector. Does anyone foresee their power connector being a problem?
