Kolich, take it easy. Is really border lining on rude how much you are harassing nateman_doo to get these blocks done.
They will be done when they are done.

As for second batch or nb/Sb I'd like to eye the set completed before you start on the second batch, especially as shipping for me is much better as a once off rather then once each being over seas. But I'm happy for you to do it however you like mate, just glad to be getting one.

Cheers

nateman_doo has made no promises on when the first batch will be completed let alone the second batch. So demanding he work faster is completely inappropriate. Especially as he hasn't even taken orders for the second batch yet.

These waterblocks are 90% aesthetic, your project does not rely on these blocks anymore then anyone else's does.

Just put your project together now without it and pull it down and finish the job when they arrive. This is what I've done and I'm enjoying my build everyday.

Show a little patience and respect that nateman_doo is doing then at all.

Sadly, we had a casualty last night.

Nice crack in the "impact resistant" window.  Thankfully I wasn't standing there.

The victim was the top right block.  Thankfully the others seems unscathed.

The block was hurled through the impact resistant polycarbonate, and landed about 15 feet from the machine:

(don't hate, I KNOW my shop is a MESS.  no time to clean)

I was looking all over the machine for the block at first because usually they just fall off the table, but this one was thrown with tremendous force.  Enough to go THROUGH (not just bounce off) the polycarbonate, and land 15 feet away with the end mill still buried inside:

Sadly, this will set me back a little while.  I have to figure out how to drill out, and re-tap the holes where the bolts sheered out of the plate, not to mention purchase a new end mill and more copper.

Not really a congratulations type of thing.  its a setback.  its not the end of the world, but not something I wanted to deal with at the moment.

Sorry to see that Nate, But Glad No one was injured.
Kind of ironic in a way, But seems like if it's not pushing PC Systems limits, It's pushing Production quota limits.

I wasn't even there.  I left the machine to run while I went to bed.  My guess, is that the fluid wasn't running on the bit, so it got super heated and very gummy, caught the copper right, and sheered it apart.

I hate leaving my machine to run by itself, but I have to get some kind of sleep these days.  I would have caught it in time had I been there, and only lost the piece.  The easy part is replacing the copper, the hard part will be trying to get tapped holes back in the same spot that the old ones were.

Drilled out the old screw holes, and bored out the steel screws.  Going to try something new today.  Tapping the hole with a 1/4-20 blind tap, then turn a threaded rod of aluminum, thread it in as hard as humanly possible & use some loctite, then cut the remainder out and flatten it out.  That should bring me back to a new surface to re-drill holes in the same spot.

Should have that done today, and then just waiting on the new copper piece and end mill in the mail.

So where were we...

Turning the threaded aluminum:

This is the "plug"

A close up:

Thread locker applied to keep it in place.

Repaired:

A fresh new aluminum to drill and tap.  I wish I had thought of this YEARS AGO to deal with stripped screw holes.

Maybe I missed it, but how tall are these blocks?  I'm afraid my current case and rad will not support the standard vrm heatsink and I'd rather not replace either.  So, I'm very interested in this.  EDIT:  Found some pics.  And my current rad and case will not support the stock VRM heatsink, however with this and fittings it would probably be about the same height anyway.  So it is time for some case mods.  I might sitll get one of these for aesthetic reasons, though Keep up the good work Nate!

After reading  a bit of this thread @nateman, I'm glad you are getting a much deserved break! I understand the stress you are under juggling everything in life and sometimes it is good just to get away.

The bottom copper section is 0.5" tall, and the plastic top is 0.25, making it 0.75" tall all together.

So, I'm new here, and couldn't help but notice your waterblocks. I'm curious, though. Do you do runs by request, and if so, how much would a block cost, on average. I have a Rampage IV Gene, and would love a block for the chipset and VRM. Unfortunately, the only ones I could find have been discontinued.

I don't really do single blocks, unless its an offer I can't refuse.  LOTS of time and effort go into a single block, so its more economical to make batches.  If I get enough requests, then I happily make them.  I tend to make blocks that manufacturers don't simply because I can't compete with them.

Pic as promised:

8 completely cut copper bottoms!

This isn't the end of it.  They have to be sandblasted, coated with the gun coating, tapped, O-ring installed, and then I have to make the Delrin tops.

Drilling more holes on the tool plate at the moment.

An empty tool plate all drilled out:

All 40 some blind holes have to be tapped now... Just like these:

That is going to take a WHILE.  I won't be able to finish it today, and if I even THINK to set foot in my basement for Christmas, my wife would have my head.  So I set some time thursday and friday aside to finish this.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
