Honestly it didnt change anything as far as overclocking no new voltages or settings were added aside from the ROM update.

Hey guys,

We are still working on this. We have tried several ways to implement this, but still no solution at the moment.

We are working directly with Award on a solution.

-Jacob

What about the other issues except the VT you mentioned before? Also what's the status with charging iPads? Other motherboard manufacturers provided update to be able to charge iPads through it's motherboard USBs.

Thanks,

Luis

P.S. I'm sure Award will be a lot of help to you guys so I'm glad to hear you guys reached out to them. Also like someone said look into Gigabyte board because it seems like they fixed it.

you see it's just that I've flashed most previous bioses and found they weren't good for 920 d0 oc.

4. Speedstep : downclock CPU Mhz is OK but CPU vCore doesn't change. Looking into this.

Example

EVGA Classified 3 (EVGA E770)

BCLK 133 - CPU vCore Standard (Core i7 920)
Speedstep :
downclock CPU Mhz --- OK
CPU vCore -   0.9x--- OK

BCLK 200 - CPU vCore 1.35 (Core i7 920) - (and all other BCLK overclocking via standard BCLK 133)
Speedstep :
downclock CPU Mhz --- OK
CPU vCore - doesn't work (1.35v to 0.9x)
(with my SLi Micro and FTW3  it worked, the CPU vCore down clocks (1.35v to 0.9x)  with SPEEDSTEP)

Geez, why waste you time and effort to bash EVGA. If you find something better simply go buy it and begone. Coming here and rubbing it in the room's face is just bad taste.  For EVGA to still support a 2 yr old motherboards with bios update is unheard of. You "Bashers" need to remember that fact.

1. X58 will not be EOL at least till the end of this year.
2. E770 is not even 6 months old.
3. Some Core 2 boards have already got some of the updates we are waiting for.
4. The RAID ROM we use is 2 years old, not 2 months old.

Over a week has passed from the infamous EVGA reply to our questions with all questions being answered "We are looking into this" and still no updates

Im going to give EVGA another week for some updates and then im off.

Im getting fed up with this. Its coming upto 4 months since the last bios update (not including the last update which was useless) and we still have issues with this board.

The Marvell Sata 3 controller in raid is a joke.
The Intel firmware is soo soo out of date
And all the other problems to add

Jacob said he would update us on the progress so judging by the lack of updates i can only assume that there are no updates to be shared on the progress of the next bios.

I sent my last message to most of the EVGA people that matter (Marketing, sales, tech support) and only got 1 reply from Jacob saying "we are working on it" AND "we will keep you all updated"

Well keep us updated please

1 more week and im out of here and will make the very very poor first time EVGA experience known on the internet and will never recommend EVGA again

Im off to get drunk

Rant over and good night

That's simply a band-aid for his claims of 'updates' not a TRUE update. the fact that you are throwing that one back at us as a round in the chamber for Evga's guns is simply and utterly hilarious. Evga has always been my first choice and if a product I need is made by them I will always get it. But in recent months I'm coming to learn that maybe they aren't always right for the job. I got 2 PNY 570's from my job for cheap and they work well...not as good some of Evga's I'm sure...but they work fine in SLi.

If Evga doesn't clean up their act I will look elsewhere in the future as I'm sick of having to wait for this hot mess of a prom date to show up after I've already graduated.

Please don't take this as an insult or me being hostile Heavy, you're a stand up member here who I really respect, but EVGA seems to be asleep at the wheel here and not doing all they can for their loyal customer base. And I too find it ridiculous that only Jacob had and has had the stones to stick around and keep up 'up to date' where are the other tech's and EVA support staff?

I DEMAND to have my product's issues addressed! We paid for EVGA's product.... Now make it work as it should have from the start or you can kiss my customer loyalty good bye.

OK i sent yet another message to Jacob asking for some concise, informative updates NOT just a post that says "we are working on it".

Lets see what happens HOWEVER i just came across this from Xtremesystems forums.

Just look how the competition update their bios - This makes EVGA look like a joke.

And before anyone starts to flame me about how the BCLK on the Rampage is flawed - The point I am making in this post is how hard Asus are working at fixing issues NOT what issues the board has.

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0601 beta

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0602 Official
Notes
1. FIX SATA 6G device may experience S3 resume failure when using Intel i7 965 CPU

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0702 beta

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0704 beta
Notes
1. Added additional memory options (tRFC settings) to improve overclocking
2. Enable support for "Subzero Booster" for improved LN2 overclocking capabilities
3. Enabled additional CPU support for CPU Level Up functionality
4. Improved 3D performance at stock settings

Note - New microcode and the third party applications are not reading VCore correctly at this point, either use ProbeIt, ROG Connect, or a DMM for actual voltages. Asus are working with the third party vendors to correct this.

Note - Uncore setting will now scale with BCLK settings when set to Auto. Manual settings will be required when running BCLKs over 220 to ensure stability and improved BCLK rates.

Note - LN2 Modes might need to be adjusted to improve cold clocking capabilities. Auto = LN2 mode 2, setting to LN2 Mode 1 will result in potentially better overclocking below -140C. This is dependent upon CPU quality and cooling.

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0704 Official
Notes
1. Improve system stability

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0802 (Not beta, Formal, going official in a near future)

Note - LN2 Modes might need to be adjusted to improve cold clocking capabilities. Auto = LN2 mode 2, setting to LN2 Mode 1 will result in potentially better overclocking below -140C. This is dependent upon CPU quality and cooling.

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 9124 beta
Notes
1. Added 2D SpeedBooster option for GulfTown owners
2. Enable proper memory table reporting in 3rd party applications
3. Improved 3D performance
4. Tweaked LN2 Mode settings

Note - 2D SpeedBooster option is for non-3D applications like SuperPI, WPrime, and other programs that benefit from enabling CPUMicroCode ignore flags in the BIOS. Enabling this option will improve 2D application scores but will decrease 3D performance. Asus highly suggest disabling this feature for any 3D applications or benchmarking.

Note - This BIOS is still in Beta state and is released for those needing additional performance in 2D applications. Asus will have a final qualified version with improved memory and 3D performance shortly.

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0802 Official
Notes
1. Improve system stability

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0860 beta
Notes
1. Added additional memory enhancements
2. Enable official support for ROG Expander Board
3. Improved 3D performance at stock settings

Rampage III Extreme Bios Ver 0901 Official
