After configuring my options on PXOC example > ( In game OSD, Temp on Tray, GPU LED Color and Start PXOC with Windows ) - supposedly you have to right click on either 0-9 to save your profile right? well I do all that, but when I restart my PC it's only showing the Temp on the Tray, but not showing (OSD Temp and Framerate) when playing BF4?

- So when I click on the task bar ^ arrow to show hidden icons and hover over the PXOC it disappears and then the Temp on the Tray also disappears??
- I have to reopen PXOC to get the Software to stay on and to show Temp on Tray again, but I have to hit my ( Saved Config Profile # 0) so the OSD can show on the top right corner while I'm in game.

You understand now?

Another thing...Do I need this extra EVGA "LED SYNC" which is a new separated added feature.

You apply your clockspeed/fanspeed/power and temp targets and then right-click 0-9 to save (or delete) them to a profile..Profiles only save clockspeed/fanspeed/power and temp targets.

Make changes in the Settings tabs only one tab at a time and click OK to close the Settings and then open the Settings again and make changes in another tab, repeat..Changes made in multiple tabs at once won't stick, only the last change made will stick.

PXOC unexpectedly closing and going missing from the Task Bar can be caused by assigning a 2D Profile and/or 3D Profile in the Profile tab of the Settings..Set to 'Not assigned' if they are not.

After making any changes in PXOC or HWM, it's best to close PXOC and open it again and make sure the changes remain..Many changes made will not get written/saved to the .cfg files unless PXOC is closed after making them.

You can uninstall LED Sync if you don't need/want it..It's for controlling LEDs on cards that have them.

There's still many issues/bugs in PXOC so it's not neccessarily that you're doing anything wrong, it's that PXOC just doesn't work the way it 'should' many times..The most common fixes/workarounds I just listed above..Hope that helps some.

As LED Sync is not working with the latest version, neither is my G P M RGB temperature identifiers on the face of the card. They do not change colour with changing temperature as they used to. Is this a common issue? and do we have an ETA on an update because this has gone on for some time now.. (newbie to this forum, sorry if it's posted in the wrong place)

Version 6.2.7
Release: 5/8/2018

  • Fixed Power and Memory fan increased fanspeeds when starting Precision XOC or switching skins.
  • Fixed GPU fan not allowing software fan curve when starting Precision XOC or switching skins.
  • Improvements to EVGA Z10 keyboard compatibility.
  • Fan curve improvements.
  • Various bug fixes and GUI improvements.

Its been a while since I used XOC, I recently got a EVGA GTX1080Ti FW3 (beautiful card BTW) I have always used MSI AB with Rivatuner but with the RGB and ICX features on this card I want to take full advantage of all the extra features on XOC with my 1080ti FTW3
NOW, though the usage of the XOC app is ok, I honestly am a little disapointed, as I said its been a while since I last used it and honestly I feel like its lost so many in depth features and I think its all down to the fact you no longer use Rivatuner. It has to be said the UI on settings on XOC looks very outdated and the actual settings and options even more so now you use your own system for OSD.
I truly hope you guys update this to much more like Rivatuner and MSI OSD settings option. I love the SKIN and all the options on the skin the main UI are good, just when you get into the OSD, the settings UI and the Graph its I'm sorry don't hate me but its terrible to use and look at. It looks so old and as for basic things and options just aren't there and what is there is cumberson and hard to use... Also  Precision X Server this really needs a name change and the option to hide the icon in tray should be implemented into settings in the main XOC, and as for the "server settings" its just a default list where you can add programs so OSD doesn't show up, which is great but when you look at Rivatuner settings and the options you have and customizability and since you used to use Rivatuner, I dont know why you ever got rid of it, its a shame tbh.
I know MSI backed and paid for rights to 64bit version but that was only a short term exclusivity 6-9 months I've read and after that would be free to use...

So please update the UI settings and give more options along with if possible just bring back Rivatuner, because your OSD and uses need it..

Oh also FYI there are many games the for some reason XOC OSD doesn't even work on I have no idea why, for one NO MAN'S SKY NEXT, the OSD does not work on it at all, I had thought it was just the game itself, but after re installing MSI and Rivatuner today just to test, found that it works fine and OSD shows on NMS Next but XOC OSD doesn't... I'm guessing as NMS is OpenGL 4.5, your OSD doesn't work on that..

Anyway not hate I love EVGA and every product I've ever bought, used and tested has been truly a great experience along with customer service, BUT the software it seriously holding you guys pulling you down, scrap it start again like Corsair did with Link and now has iCUE which is amazing (has its faults but is great) same with NZXT CAM, it has so many features and options and looks damn good too, much like MSI AB and iCUE and honestly a lot of them now have all done great work updating adding options and making it not only work well but look like its from 2018 and not 1999. Oh and allowing other products to work with software integration would be nice too...

Try opening settings after opening the program, currently it does not appear to load some functionality until the settings menu is opened once causing some things not to work.
I personally think it was done to decrease loading times, but this isn't exactly handy either.

Any likelihood that keyboard display on Logitech G510s will be restored?

OK I am having a weird issue with Destiny 2 locking up when traveling to Orbit or during some fade to black scenes. If I don't run Precision 6.2.7 I have none of these issues. This is on a 1080Ti FTW3 in stock config. Anyone else seeing this?

My best guess would be that the OSD hooking (even if turned off) may cause some trouble.
Try adding the game to the exclusions regardless if the OSD is on or OFF.

If that doesn't work try renaming the following executables and start Precision XOC afterwards and check again:
  • PrecisionXServer.exe
  • PrecisionXServer_x64.exe
Note that OSD will not function with these files renamed.

Thanks for the tip. For some reason I totally forgot about that. After adding D2 and the D2 Launcher to the list the problems have stopped.

I just did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (x64).  While doing so, I decided to install the latest Precision XOC (version 6.2.7) instead of my old 6.2.3.  I guess I'll have to go back to 6.2.3.  This new version keeps crashing.  I've got it set to start with Windows startup, which it does.  But, shortly thereafter, it crashes (I've got no overclocking going on, I'm using it primarily for the custom fan curve -- plus, the system is basically idle).  Here's the crash report for today's:

EDIT:  I saw a post on the forum that having a profile attached to the 2d and 3d profiles can cause bad things.  So, I removed the profile I'd put there.  It hasn't been all that long.  But, Precision hasn't crashed since then.

Re: EVGA Precision XOC 6.2.7 Released 2018/08/03 08:01:54 (permalink)
I think I have found another odd issue.

My system now has been running exactly 3 days (3:00:00:00 according to taskmanager) without restarting the machine.
Before the active time reached this threshold earlier today, EVGA Precision XOC was still running in the background.
I just had a strange freeze ingame when this threshold was reached, I alt-tab back to Windows and notice EVGA Precision XOC is no longer in the system tray or running actively.

I think Precision XOC is somehow crashing and closing itself after 3 days?
Or is Windows (Windows 7) doing some weird scheduling work causing EVGA Precision XOC to close itself.

By default, Task Scheduler will stop the task (Precision and other programs) after a certain number of days the task has been running, and that is normal..You can open Task Scheduler in various ways such as by pressing the Windows and R keys to open the Run dialog and type in taskschd.msc and click OK..Then click on Task Scheduler Library in the left pane..Then right-click on EVGA Precision XOC in the right pane and open the Properties..Then in the Settings tab you can change "Stop the task if it runs longer than:" to increase (or decrease) the number of days (which is  set to 3 days, except for Windows Pro versions which sets it to 1 day, I think) or just uncheck that setting to disable stopping the task altogether.

Awesome, thank you for your reply. If I could give a blue ribbon...

So this is should be the problem, it is indeed set by default to 3 days (Ultimate) so I'll tick this off and see what happens.
I thought it had to do with scheduling because Precision uses this to start itself, but I didn't know this was a default setting.

But I don't know if this is something you would want to have with a program like this.
I normally don't run the PC for days in a row, but many people out there do this.
They'd normally expect the program to stay alive all the time and handle their fan profile etc.

Another PC is still running PrecisionX 4.2.1 and that one doesn't seem to shut off as far as I know while it runs regularly for days.

Which game was crashing ? and if you need parts of XoC at least try version 6.1.16

Some of my systems use XoC and a few use AB depending  on which dual boot.

Slave position on GTX card is ok but I really do not like to ever go over 70 C.

I have removed Precison X 6.2.7 from my computer and down graded to precision X 6.2.6 . I keep getting a blue screen restart when it is running intermittently . I have contacted support already, part of my dump file is below. I am trying 6.2.6 as a remedy to see if my system is stable.

Versions 6.2.3 or 6.1.16 are your best bets, or whatever works for you..Those two older versions seem to be the least problematic.

Unfortunately, it happened again.

Turns out, every time Precision XOC is restarted and the settings menu is opened (so some extra functionality gets loaded/written or whatever), the task itself is adjusted to the default values and enables the setting to shutdown after 3 days again.

This is not really handy and user friendly I suppose and I'd see it as a problem.
Atleast we now know where this odd behaviour comes from.

thanks @bob16314 for that tip, I didn't even know that option/setting existed till now.
This issue has been bugging me since I first got an Evga card 5-6 years ago. I just assumed it was a bug in the software that never got fixed.

@CriticalHit_NL , did the program stay open at least for more than 3 days before you noticed whole "opening the settings menu adjusts the values back to default" issue?
I guess I'll find out in the next few days since I don't really change the settings too often.

Basically I didn't reboot for another 3 days and didn't restart Precision XOC and yes the 6th day the program was still running for me.

Dear EVGA, please never automatically restart my computer at the end of installation without user prompt ever again. Fix this. That is seriously not cool and I lost a lot of open and unsaved work based on the assumption that reasonable application installations actually ask for user permission first before rebooting.

great to hear. it's been 3 days for me and it also hasn't closed. I'm really glad @bob16314 mentioned this setting.
the only thing about this situation that still confuses me is why is it just this program is the one that has this "feature/setting"?

Also, I don't know if that happens to you, but for me it only closes after my mouse hovers over the taskbar icon?
It's like the app is set to close after a certain amount of time, but it doesn't actually trigger until my mouse passes over the icon.
I can actually hear the fans running normally, and then shutting off right when the app closes after I pass the icon.

anyways, hopefully this really is a fix that sticks cause this has been bugging me for years.

I was also going to comment quite a while ago about why we haven't seen any updates addressing the issues we've been having with release 6.2.7
but i guess all their time has been spent on developing "EVGA Precision X1".
I'm guessing the original build just had too many flaws that warranted developing a whole new app.
i really hope they get it right this time.

I don't know.
It is just odd that Precision seems to be affected by it in such a way it doesn't keep running, while other programs with the same setting enabled just keep running.
Maybe I'm overlooking something.

But the task itself is normally used to start the program automatically.

That's a bit of a Windows-wonky thing.
It doesn't seem to update the system tray properly when programs get a force shutdown for example via a process quit via taskmanager.
Same as when you shutdown Windows (I have the system tray expanded) and you still see many icons staying there for a while but if you keep hovering over the system tray most of them quickly disappear. (and it even seems to speed-up the shutdown lmao )

But it's odd the fans stick to their fan curve in that situation, I guess it behaves slightly different there for whatever reason.

Yeah that happens more often when EVGA has a bigger update for Precision in the making.
I honestly still think it's PrecisionXOC in it's core with a re-skin with some bugs fixed, but above all additional functionality for the new videocards with iCX2.

You see more often in software land that new functionality gets prioritised over bug fixing even if the bugs are pretty annoying for the end-users.
Even today if you open PrecisionX_x64.exe you'll still find dialog boxes and setting menu's from PrecisionX which released before PrecisionX16, that version was still very similar to MSI Afterburner.
That just shows that a lot of things are just getting copy-pasted into the newer applications.

yeah sadly that's usually the case. I'm just really hoping when they say "...completely new codebase..." on the promo page, we'll finally get some fixes for some of the long term bugs we've been dealing with.
But as usual with programming, fix one bug, create another ten

This Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING, 08G-P4-6286-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, ACX 3.0 & RGB LED
PXOC is really the only Software, EVGA LED SYNC is part of PXOC and you can run this File without running PXOC.
