Profile hotkeys not working.

I have to open the settings menu and click ok to apply hotkey settings already showing present for them to work. Occurs every time I restart the software.

Create your profile/s..Assign your hotkey/s..Click OK..Close Precision (without restarting your PC) so the config gets updated..Then open Precision again and they should work..If you want overclock settings to remain, enable "Apply previous settings on load" and close Precision..Closing Precision after making changes is they key to getting most changes to be saved in the configs..See if that works for you.

Some hotkeys/combinations may be system reserved like in MSI Afterburner and won't work..I use Shift + 1 for Profile 1 (Hotkey 1), Shift + 2 for Profile 2 (Hotkey 2), and so on.

Thank you. I didn't think I had either one assigned, but I did. I'll see if this works.

Nope. Every time the program loads the hotkeys don't work. I open the setting menu and the profile hotkeys are displayed in the settings. If I want to use hotkeys I have to open the settings and press ok even though they are listed there each and every time I open it. Amazing!

This software seems to be causing Destiny 2 to crash.

Just a suggestion, not sure if this will solve it, can you quit Precision XOC and rename the following files:

PrecisionXServer.exe
PrecisionXServer_x64.exe

Start Precision XOC after this.
Note that OSD will not function without these files having the proper name, but it appears they automatically wan't to hook into applications even though OSD is not active.
Maybe there is a conflict with Destiny 2 and this might solve it.

I have tried to install Precision XOC for my EVGA 1070 several times. I finally deleted all files related to Precision XOC including the registry. I reinstalled once again and everything went as expected until I launched Precision XOC. I get this ERROR: "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx11_43.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

For the longest time now, probably 3 or 4 versions, Precision will just close from the taskbar after hovering over it with the mouse...I'll go to right click over it to activate a Profile and before I can even do anything it just drops from the taskbar and I have to relaunch it.  Yes, I've reinstalled.  I've cleaned out old versions.  Nothing fixes this and it's been going on for a while now.

I'm currently using Precision version 6.27.

My specs are:

Enermax Triathlor ECO 1000W PSU
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Mobo
AMD FX-8350 Eight Core Processor @ 4.22 Ghz

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING ACX 3.0 (6gb)
Samsung EVO 500Gig SSD

Yep..Same bug here..See posts #9 and #28.

Assigning 2D/3D profiles can cause that..Set them to "Not assigned", then close and open Precision again (w/o restarting your PC) and see if it matters and post back with your results.

Looks like a Windows 10 specific bug, I'm not seeing this on Windows 7.
I think we're talking about the system tray. (mine is expanded however)

Yes, both the System Tray icon disappears and the program closes.

It happens in both Win7 and Win10 here, and I can make it happen all the time..The solution for me for that specific problem is to not assign any 2D and/or 3D profiles, or just to simply open and then close the Settings after Precision starts, or go back to using version 6.2.3 or earlier.

Ok that's confusing, even wiped my settings and only set a profile and assigned 2d/3d profiles and it doesn't close, neither after restarting it.
I really wonder where this goes wrong for some.

Yeah, I hear ya, me too..But here's how I can make PXOC crash all day, every day, and on demand with versions 6.2.6, 6.2.7 and also with the Beta versions in between in both Win7 and Win10..Older versions work fine.

1. Create a profile/profiles and save it/them
2. Assign a 2D and/or 3D profile in the Profile tab
3. Close Precision and then open again so the profiles/settings stick
4. Run the GPU-Z Render Test or a 3D app or even open Edge or Internet Explorer or Windows Photos

Doesn't matter if PXOC starts with Windows or I start it from the desktop shortcut..Doesn't matter if PXOC is minimized to the System Tray or not..Doesn't matter if PXOC is set to Start Minimized or not..Sometimes the crash takes like 15 seconds or so and sometimes it happens immediately.

The problem is somehow related to the 2D/3D profiles and/or the Settings being activated or not..The problem goes away when no profiles are assigned, or when opening/closing the Settings (gear button) if 2D/3D profiles are assigned.

In Win7 I get the error popup shown in the attachment below and no solution from Win7 is offered.

I hope these findings can prove useful to the development team.

Thanks for the directions, I could reproduce this using GPU-Z atleast, crashed nearly immediately on PrecisionX_x64.exe.
I only wiped my settings and then created 3 profiles with the same info.
Assigned different profiles to 2d and 3d profile, but also happens using same profile.
I currently have renamed the OSD server executables so they can't be doing anything.

This is what the Windows logs had to say about it:

Faulting application name: PrecisionX_x64.exe, version: 6.2.7.0, time stamp: 0x5af10c52
Faulting module name: PrecisionX_x64.exe, version: 6.2.7.0, time stamp: 0x5af10c52
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000067ab9
Faulting process id: 0x1da0
Faulting application start time: 0x01d3eeff65eee7cf
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\PrecisionX_x64.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\PrecisionX_x64.exe
Report id: ad2f9590-5af2-11e8-ac93-08606e8026d3

My guts are telling me that this has to do with how Precision XOC is loading its settings currently.
As we've seen before the first time you open the settings menu, there's a delay before it opens.
If settings is left unopened, things like Thermal LEDs currently do not update.

Now, we have 2d and 3d profiles which the program has defined profiles for, but without opening settings first, it is unable to change from profile state in the main Precision XOC window.
When the program detects the other 3d profile kicks in due to load from opening certain applications, it hangs.

You can see the same delay occur in Precision XOC like settings if you start it and directly click on one of the profile buttons.
Something is definitely messed up with how settings are currently loaded at program start-up and its breaking all sorts of things.

Maybe its done to lessen the initial start-up time of the application, but it seems its not the right way as of now.

Either way good find.

PS: GPU-Z could use a bugfix too, pausing the rendertest keeps using processor power for no reason.

I don't think it was done intentionally, but since EVGA has their own keyboard now they might have made specific changes which breaks the old keyboards support.

Currently there is a bug that doesn't let Thermal LED update if Precision XOC settings is not opened once.
If Precision XOC is closed it doesn't seem to update either.

Unfortunately I don't pay too much attention to the LEDs behaviour so I don't know if Thermal LEDs actually updated previously without software running.

I haven't assigned any 2D or 3D Profiles.  I found the 2d/3d profiles buggy, as it would activate at odd times (watching videos would set off the overclock, for instance).
When I used the term profile, I meant basically for overclocked/not overclocked:
I have a default profile in slot 0 for non-overclocked, default settings; I have my overclocked profile in slot 1.  I merely right click the Precision icon on the taskbar to activate these.  It's when I hover over the icon it does this disappearing.

I think I'll try using the 6.2.3 version again.  Thanks for the input.

Not one to come and complain about much but here lately this software has been pretty awful. Randomly closes without warning and is pretty much useless for me. Noticed nasty DPC latency spikes while the program is running also.

Hope there is a fix soon.
