Ran some tests.

Have 3 KPs here. Two of them I own myself and the third belongs to my business partner.

Both of my cards remained on water with original config/cooler and my friend was able to ghetto rig his into a custom loop with a chiller (he will be posting pics here, is definitely only a very temporary solution).

Max clocks for my cards were: 2185 and 2190 (at around 40c-45c)
Max for his: 2205 (max at 23c, idle at 12c, fluid temp 4c)

His temps would have been even better if he had a real waterblock, there was definitely some areas left uncovered.

The only real rival to this card is the HOF. which I own 3 of (one being OC LABS WC). I haven't tested the two non Labs HOFs yet (they arrived today) however, I'm able to hit a steady 2435 on the OC LABS (purchased end of last year). This difference is immense and is of course largely due to HOFs 2000w bios. However, in comparison, my REFERENCE PCB (2 plug) MSI Oc Duke on the 2000w bios is able to hit 2285 (512 watts)!

I called EVGA to inquire about the XOC bios and was hung up on (or the line just really conveniently cut). My humble conclusion is, without a XOC bios this card is not worth it at all.

Any Links to your benchmarks?
Sill would like to know what the XOC bios is.

We are filming a video about this whole thing including live video of said clocks. Will link here when done.

The xoc im referencing is the 2000watt hof bios sent out for GOC.

This is essentially correct and shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone who has been into GPU OC'ing for a while. The same goes for the Lightning Z and HOF cards. KPE users will most likely have access to an XOC vBios from Vince as has been the case in the past. Also there are many vBios' that people can already choose from to raise the power limit on any card, the Asus 1000W bios comes to mind...

This is true indeed. I had to prove I owned the HOF OC labs to get that 2000w bios. It wasnt an issue at all however. The fact that it is “unsure” wether the kingpin xoc bios will be released is not worth the $4.3k risk imo, especially if there’s a chance only “the chosen ones” will get it.

The 1000w asus bios diminishes nvlink speed and typically produces lower results than the 460/380. I even tried it on my HOF (for the people’s) and got terrible results.

I can also confirm the 2000w bios can cause cards to remain in safe mode (until reflashed), so not all gpus take well to different bios’s.

Man, all that about the other bios is like a kick in the you know what! Bummer.. :/

Kingpin will come threw as always as he stated in that video listed earlier in the thread. I just need to wait long after that for a possible ftw3 ultra bios to up the power.. hopefully. Come on Vince! Ya did it for the 1080ti ftw3!

Got it, it is confusing because we use EVGA Precision XOC on some of our cards and I still use it on my 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Cards.
Thanks for the update.

Yes it would certainly be a shame if the XOC bios was withheld from KPE owners. I would be quite disappointed myself but as of right now I have no reason to believe that will be the case. That wouldn't bode well for sales numbers of the next KPE cards as I think many would remember they withheld the bios for the 2080Ti so why bother with the new one.

This is good info, thanks for that. I hadn't tried the Asus bios yet.

No doubt, always a "do at your own risk" type of deal when it comes to bios'.

Tweaking and benching my KPE for the last 2 hours. I believe its finally dialed in.

My impressions:

Look and feel - Very solid card. Radiator/Fan also. EVGA went all out on this card.
OLED is a great addition. All the measurements can be displayed or you can select which measurement you want to display. You can customize it also. I have KINGPIN displayed at all times.

As confirmed earlier, the GPU is cherry picked. I have tested many 2080Ti's and this is the best overclocker's I've owned. The 144% power limit is very helpful as the core freq. is rock solid during extended 4K stress test runs.
Of course, water cooling keeps those core freq up and minimizes down clocking due to heat. My radiator is a top mount pulling air from inside the case. I may have to reposition the radiator for improved cooling.
A very quick review of my overclocking results. Hope this helps out

I only bench at 4K resolutions for higher levels of stress and heat generation. Fans at 85%

Open Case Overclock:

GPUz Base Clock: 1510Mhz (+160 on the core)
GPUz core boost: 1930Mhz
GPUz indicated: Memory Clock 2060 (16480 Effective) (+1240 on the Samsung memory)
Max Boost: 2175Mhz
Max sustained boost @ 48-50C:  2160Mhz (Solid 2160)

Closed Case Overclock: (increased temps of around 4 degrees C)

Still messing with mine, but I've managed to get it to 2205mhz core and it seems to be capped about there. Only +1075 so far on memory.   Good enough to crack the top 100 Time Spy Extreme HoF for GPU only score.  www.3dmark.com/3dm/35273976?

Man, lame.  Order next day air, and then UPS said it was delayed until Thursday.  Now, they are saying they'll get it to me tomorrow, but that's UPS's bad. Impressive shipping time on the Kingpins EVGA. Well executed launch. I expected bugs with the associate codes as is the roll out of anything new for anyone, but you guys did it all well.

Same here. UPS Next Day... initially all good showing 4/9/2019 delivery date but then there was a flight delay in Louisville, KY and they added an addendum saying delivery will be delayed by 1-day. It was saying Thursday this afternoon but now it's back to saying Wednesday. Not eligible for refund because it is an event "out of their control". Did you place your order from Canada?

I'm beginning think UPS bakes these shipping "exceptions" into their system in order to get away with providing people sub-par service, LOL. I can't remember a UPS shipment where it's made it from A-to-B without some sort of exception.

I will say that I was only charged $11.40 for customs brokerage which is very nice, so credit where credit is due there.

I've got a serious case of GPU blue-balls right now -- I need this card!!

Initial showing delivery 4/9, then "A mechanical failure has caused a delay. We will update the delivery date as soon as possible. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day." Long Beach, CA delayed it to 4/10.

Then after leaving Cali to Kentucky mid flight "A late flight has caused a delay. We will update the delivery date as soon as possible. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day. " delaying it to 4/11.

Sent an e-mail to them, and they said I can request a refund by talking to shipper once I received the product.
I know it's an addiction, but if I'm hitting f5 from midnight eastern time until they release, the shipping cost is secondary... I just want the card :-P lol

Hahaha wow, that is crazy, literally identical to my experience. I also had the "Mechanical Failure" exception.... I'm telling you man, they bake this crap into the process!

Mine is now back to saying 4/10 delivery and is currently in Ohio... fingers crossed there are no more "exceptions". Yes you can "request" the refund but they will more than likely decline it due to "reasons beyond our control".

Glad to see cards shipping out and getting benched finally! This new KP rtx card certainly has the most emphasis on daily performance of any KP card to date. We really had a focus not only the XOC this time but also the MAXIMUM SUSTAINABLE normal ambient cooling overclocking out of the box(49-54c) to make it one of the best, if not the best and well rounded performing KP card to be released.  Really hope you guys enjoy this one! We worked hard on it. Really cool thing about this gen KP card is that it can scale on hybrid cooler with voltage now on both mem and core so most of you guys should be able to squeeze a few more delta clocks out of it with a small V bump for ambient benching runs. The samsung memory rips too when you give it some more juice.
I always take care of you guys with proper XOC stuff, this gen is no different ofc ;). Wait for it.

Glad to see cards shipping out and getting benched finally! This new KP rtx card certainly has the most emphasis on daily performance of any KP card to date. What's up Vince! Interesting to hear about the slightly different approach this time 'round.

Great to see both of the masterminds posting here, big congrats on another successful KPE launch!

Was expecting nothing less of course, you set the precedent years ago. Looking forward to it. Cheers!

Very nice that you have also focused on the performance on ambient temperature!

You guys have already finished designing the Kingpin hydro block and we are currently waiting for the production?

I have question, why it takes so 'long' time to release KINGPIN gpu:s?
It's been 5-6 month since NVIDIA begin to ship their 2080TI:s.

Is it because binning takes long or it takes long time to design/manufacture?

Don't get me wrong. I like kingpin card, but I'm not probably only one who doesn't pick up this GPU because of 'late' launch date (It's one of last 2080ti:s that gets released on market).

It takes this long to perfect the card for the uses they want to make it for.

There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into these and they change a lot between the time they are introduced and released.

...My humble conclusion is, without a XOC bios this card is not worth it at all.

Here is where a little tact is needed.  You seem to be new to the scene.   You are going about this in the worst way and a perfect reason why these things arent meant for the masses.

Got a question for everyone...
You guys ready to pay almost 3k for the next kingpin?

Winter Storm here in Colorado Tomorrow may cause delay for mine as well.

Man, that sucks. I'm in Parker, CO myself and dreading this storm rolling in. I thought we were done with it for the year. Hoping it doesn't delay your delivery.

Now that people are receiving their KPE's, I wanna see more pics of setups with them installed for the rest of us to drool over. Maybe even in a new stand-alone thread?

Thank you man. Ironically some card owners are not actually extreme benchers ;), so we also stepped up and made a more streetable track car of a card, instead of just a trailer queen if that makes any sense hah. Also when I saw how hot the rtx gpus can get when overclocking an ambient, Air cooled KP card didn't make sense.

This generation took a bit longer than normal because we were spending heavy rd time on developing our Z390 DARK and another upcoming mobo.
In the past, we just focused on VGA's so easier to keep pace than on this one. Developing the final KP card takes a lot of time spent with trial and error on reference cards, going through multiple pcb revisions, etc etc.
When people ask me why the card takes longer to make, I'll say we just try our hardest to spend the time that it takes to get it right internally no matter how many internal revisions it requires or cost involved to give you the BEST version final KP card(hopefully!) ;) once. No need to rush it and then be forced later on to make multiple retail revisions to improve it. Than the early adopters get screwed. That's no good. Also Samsung memory was not readily available at the start of this gen, but I knew it was coming later so we also held off a bit for that as there were some concerns with micron and XOC.

Now I am disappointed in myself for not waiting for the KPE 2080 Ti, the card looks so nice and the performance is better than my ftw3. In terms of performance from what I gather here, its a ten. Design + look of the pcb to me is another ten. If next gen KPE is going to be made again for both ambient and XOC then I defo need to get it. Also now I see why it took so long to make the card, wish I waited for it haha.
