According to Vince they are hand-selected but I don't believe I have heard or seen anyone from EVGA management officially confirm/deny. I would lean toward yes but I know you're probably looking for a firm answer so my apologies in advance ;)

Is it every a bad thing to have too much power in a system? SLI gaming still is around.

No, it's not. I'm sure it's similar to my "need" to have a 500hp car, even though I almost never go past 50% throttle and 4k RPMs. It's just nice to know you've got it for those few occasions you need it. I definitely understand that mentality and see how it would apply here. 

I was just curious if it was for a particular reason, in this case. Like shooting for a specific benchmark or wanting to game with 2-3 ultrawide 4k monitors or something. Genuine curiosity.

Yeah he kinda measuredly responded they were in the Gamer's Nexus vid, but haven't seen anything about it since. If they were I imagine they'd be advertising it like they did with ASIC quality and one of the previous KPE cards.

To end the speculation on GPU binning - yes, the chips that go into these KPE are cherry picked. Every single one of them. 
 
We wanted to make all KPE cards behave very nice, especially with OC. We don't advertise specific XXXX MHz clock, because there are multiple performance criteria on RTX TU102 GPUs and it's not all black and white like on 1080Ti or previous generation chips. As somebody mentioned earlier - keep an eye on performance results, not just raw frequency. 
  
Combined with hybrid cooler, better VRM w/o bogged power limiting and Samsung memory, these should easily give out of the box results that otherwise on other cards may require HC blocks, hours if not days of fiddling with settings and big GPU lottery luck.
 
I'll post technical guide this week with bit more detail on this topic, as well as KPE corks and features.

i'm planning on using a custom loop with 2 kingpins would a 1600 watt titanium EVGA power supply be enough for both including a watercooled cpu like the new ryzen 12 core 24 thread processor coming out soon? Or, should I buy an extra power supply?

why would you sli 2 kingpins and use a Ryzen cpu? Lol. Like having a corvette with a lawn mower motor in it.

Man, lame.  Order next day air, and then UPS said it was delayed until Thursday.  Now, they are saying they'll get it to me tomorrow, but that's UPS's bad. Impressive shipping time on the Kingpins EVGA. Well executed launch. I expected bugs with the associate codes as is the roll out of anything new for anyone, but you guys did it all well.
