I’m torn between getting one or just getting a Ftw card. Money’s not the issue. Just that I’ve seen Ftw cards overclock almost as good as the kingpin

Money not an issue.. you'll be more happy with the kingpin in the long run.. neither will make you cry really.. kingpin will have better resale as always to boot.

Intel i9 9900K @ 5.2Ghz Dual Custom Water Loops.
Asus Z390 ROG Extreme XI MB
G.Skill Trident Z 32GB (4x8GB) 4266MHz DDR4

34" Dell Alienware AW3418DW 1440 Ultra Wide GSync Monitor
Thermaltake Tower 900 w/ 2x EK D5 pump/Res combo, 2 EK XE 480 rads.

Ordered mine this morning.
I understand each card will vary.
Through all the testing EVGA did, what were the overclocks you were seeing? Core and Memory?
Thank you!

I was seeing 2200/8000 with some tweaking.

Possible to hit 2300/8000 in a custom loop or no? I to understand it will vary

Fantastic card!
It's great that it's available to EU as expected. Goes in line with quality deliveries of FTW3 too for the EU market. The stock is always plentiful.

I think the plus of getting a Kingpin is you have a better idea what you're getting at a minimum for overhead on your clocks.  FTW cards are great, but it can be a crapshoot on how well binned the GPU is.  So the overclock will vary more.  And effectively no power limit on the Kingpin!

There are some expected OC settings in the OC guide jacob posted:

Interesting...

So essentially, for those of us who already have a 2080 ti FTW3 Hybrid that can achieve stable 8000MHz memory and stable core clocks of 2050 to 2100MHz, the Kingpin won't really be worth the upgrade. Unless you decide to go full custom loop to achieve 2100MHz+ stable core clocks, I suppose.

Good info, if accurate.

That is true. I did buy a 9700k binned at 5.4Ghz, instead of trying to play the silicon lottery

My friends Ftw on air hits over 2100/8000. It is a silicon lottery though

Any chance you guys will sell the 240 mm cooler so that we can remove the 120 mm from the FTW3 Hybrid cards and replace with the 240 mm?

I would think if they did that it would be the whole cooler with a 240mm.

Yeah, since installing the hybrid kit to decrease temps, I've been able to reach 2115/8000 (dropping to 2050/8000 after about 60 minutes in benchmarks or games) without any issues.

I suppose if I was starting from scratch I'd splurge on the Kingpin. But at this point I'll just hang tight with what I've got.

I think these things being limited production helps keep it's value and eventually have a nice collectible value for years to come imo.  (Think American Pickers LOL)

I think it's quite possible but really pushing it.  Having a overkill custom loop could help.

Looks like it's just gonna be an add on. It doesn't appear there is going to be a second Kingpin SKU.

Yea a shame. That’s another strike against it. If there was an option to pick what cooler ya wanted it would better imo. Buy one to just take off the cooler and replace it with the hydro copper for probably another $200 on top

I think in Gamer's Nexus interview - Vince mentioned that the hydrocooper version will be:
1. extremely limited
2. extremely binned :D

My current card - should I even stress to buy this one ?
Core clock 2,100 MHz
Memory bus clock 2,025 MHz

Same here. Really hoping that EVGA or a 3rd party gets one on the market in a decent time frame. I really don't want to break open my loop to put this card in until I can do it all at once. In hindsight, it seems that the water block could (should) have been available at launch.

With a 9900k and this card... is an 850 watt power supply enough, should I upgrade to 1000w?

850w is more than enough unless you're running some unrealistic benchmark like Furmark which I wouldn't since it could damage ones GPU.
