That works, but will give errors on the bus (may be visible by performance drop or occasional driver errors).

Interesting and good to know. I was considering a vertical mount with one of those when I build out the KPE open-loop but maybe now I'll reconsider. I had always wondered if there was a performance impact when using those extensions but never really bothered to look into it.

Thank you, that is what I want to make sure of, and why I asked.
I have 5 from other brands and none of them work at x16.

@bcavnaugh
do you have this? https://eu.coolermaster.c...phics-card-holder-kit/
?

No, I was thinking about but other have had issues with it and one is the card cannot run at x16 all the time.
The Core W100 comes with a holder or bracket that I was going to use. Looking now to re-review.
Thanks
Looking at some other ones as well Link

Its been my experience that a short quality riser works without issue but I have never really tested intensively. Definitely heard and seen a lot of horror stories...

Just did a quick google search and it seems the difference is only about 1% on "good" cables. Benchers might care but gamers probably not.

I will test the CM Riser vs z390 Dark PCIE slot tonight and see what happens.

You could still test for others here to let them know if it works well with the KP or not

Thanks Good Info, it would be nice if they updated for newer cables.
Some Scores https://videocardz.com/review/pci-express-riser-extender-test/3
Both Thermaltake and Lian-Li cables are very high quality. During hours of testing and countless reinstallations, performance was not affected in any way.
Premium risers are durable and should serve you for many years.
These cables are very flexible and should be the perfect choice for DIY wall-mounted PCs or systems from Thermaltake or Lian-LI designed specifically for those cables.
At most, we are looking at 1% lower performance compared to PCIe slot.

I know none of the below work

The shorter the run the better, I would think. According to the article I linked, those Thermaltake ones are examples of "good" PCIE riser/extension cables. If going for world records I would say avoid it as every last percentage point matters. If only casually benching and gaming the 1% would be negligible but I don't think you're a casual bencher if your intention is to go with a chiller. I think I can live with that 1%, it would be a crime to have that beautiful KPE Hydro Copper block hidden away from view!

That would be alot of work and I'd have to hang the kingpin card in mid air to test in the current rig. I dont have the new case even planned yet. Just sitting on the carpet somewhat together planning on where to mount the extra rads as I'll have to cut the case up to do.

Besides.. it would be tuff to see that 1% there talking about.

If not getting moisture on the mb is that important then just use the cable and forgetaboutit.

Could do the same with a vertical mount mb turned with the i/o panel up as well. Though your prob looking for ease of mount?

Anyways many use this so I'm sure someone out their already has info.

Things went downhill after that.  LL was at 0. I tried to fine tune the card. Added 3 LL and it crashed. Then LL10 and it crashed,  back to 0 and it crashed. After that the setting would appear correct on PX1 but would perform like some value was stuck either on CT or PX1. Default LL kept changing from 10 to 0and back to 10.  I lowered the voltage and also my PX1 values. Now those values were now too high to run without crashing. I restarted, restarted in diag mode, ran disk cleaner, disabled almost everything, changing voltages, gains, etc, uninstalled , reinstalled PX1, CT, and NVDIA. Now 1.9375v from +115 up to +135 PX1 LL 10, the card runs 2175 on all runs except the last at 2190 with graphics scores from 39, 721 to 40,037 loosing 4frs.

Going to clean install everything.

I can get 2175 at almost any voltage. I can not get 41,4-3xxx Graphics at just any voltage.

#3 for 9900k

Not bad but considering I'm using an air cooled founders in this benchmark vs yours can't help but think you don't have a true stable 2190mhz/memory clock on your card.

I ordered one of those from Amazon or Newegg...Turned out to be a Chinese knock off.
edit: Thermaltake

Do you have a Link so I can compare?

From the invoice...says Newegg ships but it came from China after 6 weeks. I was not able to return it, IDT. I was not the only one.
