Worse case you could cover up the dragon logos with plastidip I suppose.

Wrote to EK and Heatkiller after all because I was curious, both said there are no plans because the card is limited and not in high demand. Oh well, maybe at least bitspower will eventually make one. Especially after receiving my WB today and having a chipped block (screw not long enough etc) in the OLED mount, can be fixed with a longer screw. Sigh, I hoped it wouldn't happen.

Has anyone upgraded from the FTW3 to the Kingpin? Is it worth the extra charge - even if you continue to use the AIO?

The stock AIO cooler on the Kingpin works very well, they went to a newer pump and also to the 240mm radiator. If your using the FTW3 stock fan cooler or the ftw3 hybrid the newer setup on the kingpin is better for sure. Depending on what you want higher clocks and the ability to change your voltages for the clock and memory the kingpin is what you want. The tweeks and tools available for the kingpin are really fun to mess with for sure. https://xdevs.com/guide/2080ti_kpe/    plus you can play with XOC bios for the kingpin if you really want to try some heavier overclocking as well. For normal everyday stuff and gaming its kind of up to you whether the money difference is worth it to you for the extra ability of the kingpin.

Thanks for your feedback. Interesting is the performance gain over the FTW3 with stock fan cooler. But I'm a gamer (I do not do benchmarks) and in-game fps are important. How much MHZ does the kingpin reach approximately with the aio cooling and how many fps would it be - across from 1950/2000 Mhz? At 5-10 fps, the surcharge does not make sense.

Not sure you would see More FPS Just Gaming - unless just because of the larger radiator keeping temps lower

I thought it started adjusting lower than that.

It seemed to me most people were getting around +120 to +130 in PX1 software 2160 to 2175mhz with the stock cooler and the memory you could get to around +1100 in PX1 software with the stock cooler. A lot depended on the ambient room temps.

I think you will get the same results with the FTW3 (with stock air cooler) too - but only for some seconds . The temps will go up to 68/70 degrees - with around 1950/2000 MHz. So I have to check how many fps will be the difference between 1950 and 2175.

@Udo_G

My RTX KPE starts stepping down the clocks with core temps +40c and higher not +50c... As dwexpress stated ~2150-2175 is likely with the stock 240 CLC under gaming conditions. Performance is going to vary depending on many variables such as the CPU, the game engine, the ambient case temperature, the resolution of the render ect... I would not expect more than 5% real world gaming perf improvement.

As for the "surcharge does not make sense."

The sense argument with regards to economics and NVIDIA RTX cards is impossible. With the RTX KPE value can be found in the power delivery, PCB design and hardware features that are lacking on other RTX 2080 ti's. Primarily relating to Power limitations. RTX Competitors cards require physical mods, and firmware mods to "unlock" overclocking potential. This is not relevant for gaming performance but is relevant to XOC...

Additional value is found with the direct support from EVGA, its engineers, and XOC world record holders who had a hand or two in designing the card and also in the documentation regarding overclocking and operation of the card on XDEV's by said engineer.

IMO for those who XOC the documentation on XDEVs and access to support from the people who actually designed the RTX 2080ti KPE is priceless...

Thanks for your feedback. In the meantime I checked some tests of the FTW3 with air cooler - and the difference between 1950/1975 and 2145 (OC) ist about 3-5 fps (in 4K). So it makes no sense to spend the additional money (in my case)...

Agreed and I think you will be very happy with the FTW3. A great 2080ti!!!

Pretty sure my card ending up being a dud...OLED is stuck at 300mhz and it can barely run any benchmark above stock settings.... OLED on both AIO and Hydro block say 300mhz...checked GPU-Z, CPU-Z, Nvidia Inspector and all say P0 state so idk what’s going on...reinstalled PX1, drivers, reseated, & just about everything I can think of at this point...submitted a ticket on Sunday and still haven’t heard squat from EVGA about it...frustrating stuff..

I would try another bios or reflash the stock bios. Also would try testing your KPE in another build if possible. Sorry to hear about your issues and I am sure we can help you get back to ops. If not evga support can!

What’s the max temps for RTX king pin for all the temp sensors the core, the power on all the marks, memory power 1 etc, wanna make sure I stay below the max allowable, I know the core is like 91c max this is no means I’m anywhere close to these temps just wanna know the allowed specs of max temps

Post an image of your PX1 Settings like the ones below. There is a 3rd GPU Temp that is shown only on the OLED.

Max for GDDR6 is 95c. Max junction temp for the VRM is around 125c. You likely will never be anything close to these numbers.

Monitor the temps while you are using it and you will get an idea as to what is normal, so you'll be able to spot a potential problem.
