avimeso im abit stumped with this bios. my highest score i can get in 3dmark timespy is 18419 to work is 1115 memory and 115 core with the 3080 ultra ftw3 oc bios. i was trying to get a 19k score but doesnt seem possible with x1 software. any suggestions?
18419 isn't bad +136 clk +1180 mem best i can do in timespy 18989, its DX 12 and part of the score is CPU and an I9 9900k @5ghz is what drops my score . I had thought I got a 19k with my air card but I might be dreaming, maybe Graphics part was 19k...idk.

Has anyone had an issue with going back to the normal BIOS with the switch and it still showing a 118% power target max with the slider? I even flashed the normal bios back and I still see 118% max.

well its not pulling over 120w from 1200w power supply even when set in evga x1 to go higher.... might try to run each pcie connector off its own connector. i doubt it be the problem though because its like commercial grade brick ****house...

I don't know why you would want to, It is just a slider, if it goes to 105 or 118 the card is going to do what you set it, if the slider is at 100 , it will run @ default, I have this Bios and have created 2 settings that are power conservation modes that I can run @ 330W and 318w for games that stay pinned at 144hz and do not need any extra power so my room doesn't heat up so much in long gaming ordeals.

I know what the slider does. I was troubleshooting some funky clock issues with the OC BIOS and noticed that the power target was still able to be set to 118% after putting the switch back to normal bios and reflashing the normal BIOS. I was thinking my switch might have been bad since it did not change anything when I went back into Precision after going to normal BIOS. It is not a problem for me as I have another 3080 here I can test with while I wait for my 3090 Step Up for this card even if it does have an issue.

3080 ftw3 on air with 5950x on water. All ambient, no chillers, rig inside the house. Looking forward to a water block arriving! Thank you EVGA!
I got 19600 pt GPU score with 9900K, no watercooling. All air cooled. Cannot understand those that can't get 450W on the GPU, mine reaches that easily, it would go over, have seen 464W momentarily. TS Extreme GPU score about 9800 pt. GPU EVGA 3080FTW3 Ultra.

So some more info would be much appreciated. Which game or benchmark is is pulling these watts, what is the sustained clockspeed at that time and did you only flash the bios or also have an overclock? If OC, just +mhz offset, or specific clock/mV curve philosophy. I can manage 19400 TimeSpy graphic score, but thats not stable in half of the games (when it tries to boost over 2100mhz). Its pulling around 400w then.

For instance in Port Royal its around 1.002 up to 1.037 mV when running just below or up to 2100 mhz @ just under 400w. When it goes over 2100 there it crashes. Temps 68-70°C. Perhaps the chip just cant do more, but I would think if it pushes a little more volts it might be stable at 2115/2130 etc. There is another 50w and it can go up to 1093mV right.

Drwaffles Need still some assistance guys with my 3080FTW3, I'm still being power limited at 412-420w It's pretty inconsistent even with the power sliders set to 118% and GPU usage at 100% in the new MC RTX full release (Most games this happens) Power draws are hovering around as follows PCIE:40w Pins 1-3: 125w 145w 110w
I am getting something similar and I am using an AIO Hybrid Mod. Using 3dmark Time Spy and Port Royal. Custom Voltage vs Freq Curve. It is the 450W XOC Bios. There are no connected fans so there should be most if not all spare wattage for the GPU. The GPU Memory Junction Temperature was around 80C it also has active cooling via the back plate and 2x 80mm blowing on it. Not sure how the power is supposed to be allocated, 50W is reserved just for fans/RGB? Anyone else getting similar results with XOC? I am getting the following power usage:

In your instance it's not Power limited, the program you're using just isn't using that much. My issue would say "pwr" under "PerfCap Reason"
Either way I fixed mine.

Oh it is power limited this is just the sensor data I did not screenshot it during the testing this is just after. But indeed it was due to power limit. How did you fix yours?

I'm reluctant to tell people yet, I just got the Timespy global number 1 spot for a 3080 with a 9900KF lol.. And my card only just does 2100-2115 mhz sustained. Don't really want it wiped out in less than 24 hours :P Either way, it's almost entirley fixed the pwr cap during a timespy run.. Hits it once in the second test. Give me a few days of feeling good about myself and i'll post the rectification. https://www.3dmark.com/se...lock=&maxCpuClock=

It's not the absolute perfect solution (EVGA fixing their bios would be that..) But I can now hold a fixed voltage and frequency in cyberpunk (And so far every other game) without throttling back at 415w.. I'm just happy that I didn't have to shunt mod the thing to get it to run as expected. I'll do some more testing (Hopefully tonight) and post m sy solution once i've confirmed something. nosde Here is my results on PortRoyal default OC Bios. PowerDraw by PCI-E Slot 78.2w MAX and 74.2 AVG. Do you think xoc bios is worth trying? https://gyazo.com/b4b5e9414faefe519151691281adf76a
Wouldn't necessarily recomend the XOC on air (Nor my solution) 420w+ is hard to keep cool. Even with 85% fan duty and an open case I'd see 65-72c.. It can help if you're trying to get up the leaderboards on timespy, but I'd only do one bios and keep the other standard, at least you've got the option. I've got an EK block now and it's 46-52c under heavy load depending on my water temperature.

Ok seems to work fairly well, far from perfect but it's an improvment and I'm happy enough. Obviously your own risk, results may vary, if problems persist please see your healthcare professional etc. I tried to use my amp clamp to measure the PCIE connectors, but it sadly didn't work that well.. It was designed for checking parastic currents draw, polling rate was far too slow. So I tried the Strix OC bios, but that didn't seem to improve anything, and along with loosing a display port functionality it reported 0 watts on the third PCIE pin..Tried quite a few more and had no success either. Ended up try the bios for the MSI suprim X even though they were only rated at 430w, success. This one is the one I specifcally used https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/228139/msi-rtx3080-10240-201123 If you're not familiar with bios flashing, google is your friend.. With a dual bios switch, it's pretty difficult to screw up. Happy to do a guide, but there are plenty out there. Un-tested: - HDMI port
- Fan control (I've got a Ek block, somebody else will need to see how it goes)
- RGB (see above)
Pros: - Got all 3 display ports (Haven't tried HDMI but they're the same layout so I'm assuming it'll work)
- No more early power throttling! It still will throttle, it's not like a double shunt mod where it'll just go wild, but it seems to be able to draw quite a bit more (Or at the very least not be as scared of approaching the 410w mark)
- Profit!
Cons: - Loose ICX sensor readout
- Reported power usage is under-reported
Test conducted: Loaded a save in CP2077 with the settings cranked up at the cherry blossom market. Logged for a few minutes, some values averages - Screencap Bios change back to the XOC switch position checked msi clock curve exactly the same Repeated.. Can see the reported power draw is significantly less.. Most interestingly is the pins that are reporting 9.9v are the ones that are being under-reported, makes sense... But the PCIE slot appears to be reporting correctly, and drawing more current.. XOC on mine almost never drew above 45w, something funky going on with the load balancing. Results: You can see the GPU on XOC is power limited, even when only at 108% TDP.. It happened to scren cap at 2100mhz, but voltage and was dropping regularly down well below the locked 1100mv. SO WHY EVGA ON A XOC 450w APPARENT VBIOS DOES IT THROTTLE AGRESSIVLY ON AVERAGE AROUND 108% TDP, YOU CAN SEE THE LIMITER SOLID GREEN AND IT WAS AVERAGING 410W BOARD DRAW!It's done this since day one, and pi55ed me off to no end.. Not sure what the issue with the XOC bios is, but I won't be using it anymore..Since this vbios flash, my games have stopped crashing too.. Presumable due to the more steady frequency/voltage. https://i.imgur.com/RbnggRg.jpg

Dunno what to tell y'all, if I pushed my card more I could maintain a power draw of around 430w with spikes up to 445w-450w during the more intensive parts of time spy. I purchased my 3080 FTW3 Ultra earlier in January from Amazon, so it could be a hardware bug that they fixed for the later runs.

Since this vbios flash, my games have stopped crashing too.. Presumable due to the more steady frequency/voltage.
You sir are a genius, I agree it is very weird power throttling behavior with the bios. They need to fix it. Did you try the Aorus Xtreme bios, I was just looking at other 3xPIN boards and that has 450W Bios as well.

samueloa84 THIS IS GREAT!!!! THANK U SO SO MUCH!! AT LAST I CAN KEEP MY CARD ON 2040 MHZ WITH THE HYBRID KIT (I'M IN COLOMBIA THE WEATHER IS HOT!) NEVER GOES UP 65° AND STABLE 2040MHZ!!!! AND LESS POWER COMSUPTION!!! AGAIN THANK U SO MUCH NOW I FEEL LIKE A HAVE A GREAT RTX 3080, EVGA IS A SHAME, BUT NOW THIS BIOS MAKES ME LOVE MSI LOL!
Remember.. It's not actually less power consumption, the card just thinks it is which is probably why it's not as aggressive on the limiter.. My tests the limiter starts kicking in around 350w reported total draw. If I had to guess, I suspect it's somewhere around the 440 actual draw. I'll still look for a way to measure the current more accurately. Either way, it's improved my gaming enjoyment and stability.. Glad it's working well for you too :) I'm not sure what the issue is with the XOC bios and/or some cards, but I just figured they'd never bother fixing it.. Until they let me actually approach the power limit at full voltage, I'll stick with the MSI one. MarlowX1m You sir are a genius, I agree it is very weird power throttling behavior with the bios. Nahh, just persistent when there's an issue I can't figure out a reason for. Yeah, tried it and the PC immediately crashed and wouldn't boot.. So far this is the only one that's let me maintain 1.1v where it would normally throttle. Hopefully one day the unlocked one GN got leaks/gets released. @machie Look at your voltage though when you're approaching that power limiter. I could hit 430-440w in things like Furmark and some games when cranking up the MSAA, but the voltage and clocks would always start dropping as I got to 415w. That was my issue that I wanted addressed.

I gave mine a closer look, the pwr limiter only triggers when it gets very close to 440+W board power draw, which usually happens during time spy graphics test 2 when I push the voltage a little higher. My board draw still averages around 430+W during time spy graphics test 2, with peaks to 450W.

Still odd you're running <1.08v with +100 core..Do you ever see It in the 1.09's or 1100mv? That's typically an issue with your frequency curve.. I'm guessing your 2070mhz point is flat (or similar) If your curve doesn't keep rising 15 MHz per voltage point, it'll only run the lowest voltage for that particular frequency point.. If that is unstable in your card, lower the whole curve a little and still do the step up. Try that and see how it responds.

My card really doesn't like 2100MHz, even with 1.1V to the GPU core, so I had my card locked at 2085MHz with 1.075V. When pinned at 1.1V GPU core voltage, the card hits the pwr limitter so often that the board power draw, core voltage and core clock fluctuates so much that I don't think you'll get good benchmark off of it anyway. All I'm trying to do here is draw as much power as I can, not set the best frequency/voltage curve for a benchmark run. I did managed 19.2k graphics score in time spy at with the card locked at 2070MHz with 1.05V to the GPU core, and that's pretty the best my card can do.
