After I installed the RTX 2080TI XC Ultra and Precision X1 the Memory tab shows 7000 MHZ, I then ran the Scan tool, updated the VBIOS and my Memory still shows at 7000 MHZ. I have not touched the setting but it seems awful high compared to what I see others running in Time Spy. Since Tim Spy is reporting 7000 MHZ Memory and Precision X1 is reporting 7000 MHZ can someone tell me what their cards are running at or what the display shows on Precision X1.

I think you need to add a multiplier of 2 to that so the total would be 14000 so it should be correct.

Hello,

I've a RTX 2080 XC ULTRA, I updated the bios yesterday. I put the power to 130% and after few minutes I've a black screen in game and the fans are at the maximum.
I'm forced to turn off my PC by pressing the 0/I button of my PSU. Is it normal ?

Not normal. Try powering your card with two pci-e power cables. Power the 6-pin with pci-e 1 from your psu, and power the 8-pin with pci-e 3.

Well of course it’s not normal. If you leave the power at 100%, does the problem still occur? What about 110%? 120%?

When the crash happens, does your card feel really hot? What kind of power supply do you have?

Also, your motherboard or computer case should have a restart switch. It is not a good idea to be powering off the PSU when this happens.

after this firmware update, my previous OC crashed at +150 on the core clock. Now I have to tone it down to +125 :(

But are you actually experiencing lower sustained/peak clocks? The reality is that offsets do not always directly translate to higher/lower clocks.

@yapchagi

The Numbers in my post #74 above, show that the new BIOS increases the Factory clocks .... so of course your past OC is Now too High

Sorry to repeat this but I'm hoping you'll see this and give us an answer. :)

Could we please get a 366W BIOS for the XC/XC Ultra 2080Ti? Gigabyte have released one for the Gaming OC without issues. Considering the XC and Gaming OC are both reference designs with 300A chips I would assume there would be no issue lifting the power limit to the same level.

Sure we could flash the Gigabyte BIOS onto our EVGA reference cards but I would assume that would void the warranty, so an official 366W BIOS would be greatly appreciated! 366W is still lower than the FTW3's power limit so it shouldn't hurt your FTW3 sales.

Looking forward to a response!

Considering the galax card is using a ref pcb a 380W bios would be nice

Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti / 2080 XC/XC Ultra BIOS Update 2018/10/17 04:01:19 (permalink)
I would be very happy with that too haha. I just thought since the FTW3 has a 373W limit that having 380W BIOS on the XC cards might be eating into FTW3 territory. Either way though, something more than 338W as an option would be cool so we don't need to worry about flashing the BIOS from other cards.

This could be completely false for all I know as I'm no expert but over on OCN some people were mentioning in the 2080Ti thread that 380W slightly exceeds the theoretical maximum capacity of the reference design due to the 8-pins being able to pull 150W each as well as 75W through the PCIE slot. It's only 5W over though so maybe it's a complete non-issue. But if that is what is keeping manufacturers other than Galax from raising the power limits then 366W or so would be better than nothing.

Gigabyte seem to have no issue raising the limit to 366W so I don't see why EVGA can't.

Use gpu-z to check both your vbioses. One should read a maximum of 373w.
