that's honestly one of the worst looking cards I've seen in a while, asus, msi and gigabytes are terrible as well. Why does everything have to look like a space ship designed to captivate hyper active 8 year olds?

comrade Ok..., so I've got 13 days left to initiate a 'step-up' on my two Classifieds. Nothing has been announced about upgrading them to the ICX model. So, even if the 'step-up' time runs out on my cards, if and when they do the ICX upgrade and I finally receive them, I then have another 90 days to do a 'step-up' to the 1080Ti?
Curious about the same question, I bought my GTX 1080 Classified in last August after tax is like $800. The price already dropped for like $100 on Microcenter, and not seeing the iCX upgrade.
Hi, I actually had the same question and took the liberty of contacting EVGA by phone. To answer your question, once your ICX upgrade has been approved and shipped, you will receive 90 days step-up from the moment that your product has been shipped. Now whilest that sounds great that does not mean you can immediatly step-up to the 1080Ti. I was told that it will be approximatly two weeks from now on before shipments of the ICX products start to get on track, at this moment only 25 upgrades a day are shipped out where in two weeks that number should be quadrippled to 100 a day. The issue with the 1080Ti's will be the supplyline from Nvidia to EVGA. Before EVGA will add the 1080Ti's to the step-up programm there has to be more than enough stock to supply sales first. (Yes, as nice as the step-up sounds, sales goes before existing customers.) So keep this in mind, refference models will be sold first ofcourse, than the aftermarket models will be shipped to the supplyers and retailers and finally when there is enough stock they will look into adding the 1080Ti's to the step-up. Chances are big that if, and when the 1080ti will be added to the step-up your only possebillity will be the refference model, that until there is sufficient stock off aftermarket coolers (Or if they decide to not add those to the upgrade.) Hope this helps!

So I just purchased the FTW2. As in 9 days ago. Its been in my machine for about 6. And they are possibly NOT going to let me use step up? With shipping I paid about $720 for my FTW2. The base price on the TI is $699. You can understand my feelings on this I hope...

Hi, I fear that I may have worded it wrongly. During the conversation I was told repeatingly that at this moment of time EVGA can not make any guarantees at this moment of time because the decissions have not yet been made, or atleast not have been made official. In theorie it could be possible that aftermarket coolers will be added to the step-up, that said I do not know if any FTW models with higher clockspeeds will be added (I don't expect them to). Once more, don't expect the 1080Ti to be on the step-up anytime soon. I secretly hope that the 90 days step-up from the ICX upgrade programm were intended to give everyone the possebillity to step up to a 1080Ti, but time will have to show us.

From its history, only reference GPUs were given in return. If they gave the custom models, that'd be the first, dependent if there's lots of stock left, which never happens for the custom line, they might add it but that's all smoke and mirrors me thinks. Once they get the step up program which I'm sure some will miss the deadline by the time it happens, they'll allow the switch only to a reference 1080 Ti like they've always have in the past. Don't forget for those that might feel like bashing EVGA for missing their deadlines, EVGA doesn't have to do this as this is just a promotion by them and can stop it at any moments notice. It's just a bonus coming from them that we'll happily take.

Okay, thanks for taking the time to contact them and share the information. Have about a month left of time on the step-up for my FTW. Definitely would be interested in a step-up to the FTW3, but iffy about the reference.

Finally 3 fan cooling systems @Evga. I am a real evga Fanboy - but my first card from Gainward GTX 980TI GLH has a 3 fan cooling System too. And its really the best cooling solution - it boost all time @max boost. Anf if you want too you can set the fans higher and the card never reaches 55 degress (thats a great potential for cooling).

Arsenic13 Ooph, love the (honeycomb?) design. I wonder what the length dimensions are. Really anxious to see how much this will cost in step up from the FTW2
sadly I doubt the three fan version will be in step up. Most times it's there baisc 2 fan stock Nvidia board versions like acx and maybe icx now? But I am doubtful it will,if it does I would step up to this one though

I have slightly over a month to step up here and hopefully they show up in step up.even if I have to wait in a big que. I would be happy to at least see an acx cooler model in step up but would be fine with reference model

Mappi75 Finally 3 fan cooling systems @Evga.
My issue with the three fan design is that darn 2(.5) bay requirement doesn't work with my case with fans in the bottom... But looking at my Mods Rigs, I suppose I could take out the bottom fans and it would suck just as much air, or more! I have my fingers crossed the Titan AIO they have been working on will be ready for release as a TI Hybrid!

cloiselle1 that's honestly one of the worst looking cards I've seen in a while, asus, msi and gigabytes are terrible as well. Why does everything have to look like a space ship designed to captivated hyper active 8 year olds? I understand why you were hiding it now.
looks like u're the only one who thinks it looks bad.
Everyone also thought the last iteration of icx / acx cards didn't look as great as some of EVGA's classics, A Majority of people in fact... evga is still better off then the other mfg's as far as aesthetics go. I hope they introduce a FTW 2 or SC2 1080 Ti as well, offering the older cooler design for people looking for a different " Look. " I really hope they do. I'd buy 2 Classic iCX styled cards, if they only offered the 3 fan style design I'd look elsewhere...
