hehe i actually looked into it myself before busting in OCT, the FTW does not qualify for step up, sadly... which is why i waited for the TI to drop

You will be able to step up to the reference pcb 1080ti once it is added to the list. That will be the 1080ti founders, 1080ti evga blower, or 1080ti acx/icx (not sure which variant will be utilized yet). Hopefully we will have more details in a few days, once NVidia lifts the embargo.

Pandavoc Hey I have a few questions. So I just built a brand new PC about a week ago with the 1080 FTW. Tomorrow is pretty much the last day I can return it and I am highly leaning on doing that and just waiting on the Ti. The reason for this is and not sure exactly why, it said I could do a step-up with the FTW but now it has disappeared and it now says it is not eligible. Also, then I can choose which aftermarket card I want instead of having to step-up top the basic one and we have no idea when the step-up will be available. What do you guys think? Also, any news on the dimensions of this one/release date? Trying to figure out which aftermarket one to get and if this is early may then I may have to look at MSI or Asus. Also trying to find one that will fit my in my stand. I have about 294mm with the HDD slots in and over 400 with them out I believe. What is your guess on pricing of these as well?
All preference I returned mine only cuz I didn't wanna worry about selling etc. picked up a cheap 1060 to hold me over. Been waiting for these since end of December. Hoping I can get my hands on two next week. Or atleast get more info on other versions if there are any. I will patiently wait a little longer.

With a complete PR disaster and death of 1080 FTW resale value due to their own manufacturing failure, EVGA should make ICX a free upgrade (NOT +$100) or offer owners to step-up to 1080Ti FTW. Hopefully they understand that.

Well if rumors are true that FTW3 won't appear before May then I definately go for SC edition as they tend to use reference PCBs (thus don't need to wait it so long). But FTW3 itself looks very nice, finally 3 fan option.

Man, I hope you're right or else I got entirely screwed when I bought this card. It's nice, I really like it, but I got it because I had a card fail last week. it showed up on Tuesday. When I installed it, I saw the evga announcement for the 1080Ti and then there was about a $100.00 price drop and then today i see the 1080Ti FTW3 ICX. I have very, very poor timing, apparently if I cannot step up.

Any chance this will be available for step up? I currently have a 1080 FTW Hybrid and I'm a little wary of going to a 1080ti reference due to the loss of clock speed.

Clock speed isnt something that is going to affect you. This is a lot different gpu core, with lots more power. The clock speed means very little in this transition. Think ofnit like this. The 1080 has a v6 engine while the 1080ti has a V8. The rev limits are lower, but the power increase and performance is substantially higher. The ftw hybrid will not be part of the step up.

Lol, love the automotive analogy. And do you ever sleep ??? Can't wait for these to be officially announced instead of just teased with a pic. Love the look and hopefully I'll be able to dump these lack luster 960's for a shinny new 1080Ti. Also looking forward to seeing the classified version of these cards. I wonder if they will keep the 3 fan configuration on them? And if so 3 equal fans or possibly 2 larger fans surrounding one smaller fan? All things that will be answered in due time I suppose.

XrayMan I have been waiting for a 3 fan version. Many years ago I put a 3 fan attachment over a card. Can't remember the brand at that time. My card stayed cooler, and I did like the looks of it too. I'M all for it. They don't have to make every card with 3 fans. So those that still want the 2 fan cards can be happy too.
XrayMan, did you just hijack another GPU card again lol. Oh btw, I remember a Gigabyte a believe or an Asus that has the 3 fan configuration just like this. It's about time, in my opinion it's overdue. :)

We are on a rotating shift, so it is constantly rolling over the month.. it makes it very hard to sleep. Anyway, back on topic. I am going to be upgrading to a reference pcb for the first time since looking at enthusiast boards.

So are we agreed that EVGA will probably be coming out with a 1080 Ti reference card? And that would hopefully be available on the step on program? I've got until 11th May to step up. While I like my FTW card, the 1080 Ti would help me max games at 3440x1440.

I bought the 1070 back in Dec 15th, thinking the 1080TI was going to be released mid-Jan in order to be able to use the Step-up option. Now, I wonder if I will still be able to make the 90 day cut deadline... I wouldn't have any problems paying for it in advance, but I'm sure I'm not the only one with this dilemma... EVGA Customer Service FTW?
