I really want my silent system back. Not happy at all with the fan speed stuck at 20% while GPU is idle...

*edit: wow, this is weird. I played some DOOM, and after that the settings were suddenly back to normal, meaning 0% fan speed when idle and max 112% power.... VERY WEIRD stuff if you ask me. Pffff not too happy about this

how are people getting over 112% Power target. On my 1070 ftw with samsung mem both bios max out at 112 PT. Is there something i am suppose to do to increase this? i have found myself hitting power limit with furmark and 4k benchmarks

Cards with dual bios; the secondary bios allows +10% power

Does this address the random black screens aka 'vrm problem'?

Hello zafer600, and welcome to the forums! Your problem appears to be a little different; I'll be sending you an e-mail with instructions and a different BIOS version.

Evga SC w/ hybrid cooler and w/ micron memory here . I can now add +500 MHz on memory without any crashes . Just tested it with Gears of war 4 for like 3+ hours.... I'm happy. Awesome update thanks guys

08G-P4-6173-KR - 1070 SC User here.

I added +500mhz to memory first day i got the card 3 months past since then and it works just fine.

My problem is i can only add +50mhz to the core even with +55 card crashes and it always hits power and voltage limit no matter overclocked or default.I set %112/92 , +100 volt nothing changes.Eg. Valley starts at GPU boost 2050mhz in 30secs it drops to 1960/1940 territory.

If you're telling me that i got the most dumb silicon then fine but if this is a BIOS problem i hope we can get more juice out of my card.

I'm not entirely comfortable doing this, but my friend said this might fix the screen flicker that I have sometimes on my monitor. Is there a step by step tutorial on how to properly flash or can a customer service assist me with this process?

Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 BIOS Update v86.04.50.00.70 2016/10/24 11:30:16 (permalink)
I have two monitors. I've run the bios update as administrator, the update window was on my second monitor (not the main one), everything else was closed. Both monitors flickered and now my second monitor appears to be dead. The update window was gone after this. It's actually the HDMI port that it is connected to, that's not sending any signal to the monitor. GPU-Z is not showing any information about the card's memory. My card is a Micron card.

I was only upgrading my EVGA 1070 SC because I could not overclock the memory past 200Mhz without the screen freezing and having flickering all over the screens. I also had flickering without overclocking. I've bought the card on September 30th.

Is my card bricked? What should I do? ):

Instead of capping at 1.093, my card is capped at 1.081... But a while ago it was 1.093, same temperatures, same power limit. It was like that before flashing as well.
But at least i can OC mu memory up to +530..

There is no way anyone could say for sure one way or the other. Many have had much success, others not as much.
You could save your existing bios to flash back to if you aren't satisfied, neh?

Some have done it without problems. I wouldn't suggest doing it though.

Boot your PC with de gpu bios of your choice, then install that particular version. If you want to install the other version, well, boot your PC with the other gpu bios active.
You should see a very tiny switch on your GPU, turn off your PC and flick it in the position you want...

Is there even a reason to flash a bios If I don't have any issues? My 1070 SC was delivered by UPS an hour ago and I don't know If I should even flash it right off the bat. Is flashing a bios straight away advisable? Note that I don't plan to overclock my card, my intention is to run it at stock settings.

Not being a smarty pants, but it look as though your master bios updated correctly. Notice the 3rd set of numbers changed from 26 to 50. You have successfully flashed the master bios (xx.xx.xx.00.xx). If you want to flash your slave bios (xx.xx.xx.01.xx), change the switch physically on the side of your video card from master to slave and repeat what you did above. This time you will be using the other zip file (should have 2 files, one for master and one for slave).

Hope that helps.
