I would think you'd really "need to" go ahead and pay the $99 difference and get the ICX version because you will lose $$'s almost immediately IF you keep the older version once the ICX gpu's start selling online....in fact they've already dropped $40.  Besides, IF you can ever actually Step Up to a better ICX model later that's just another plus.  I wanted to buy the 1080 instead of the 1070 but didnt have the extra $$'s then.

I have a 3 month old 1070 FTW Gaming ACX so I went ahead and put in for the switch to the ICX one when the notice came out on Feb 10th.  I would definately also Step Up to a 1080 ICX model too whenever that is allowed.

I took the time to read al the reviews/tests about this new design. In one of them they said that a powerlink adapter was supplied with this new series. Is this so? Doe the cards with iCX come with the adapater?

Which review was that?  Powerlinks do not come standard with iCX graphics cards.

It is in dutch though, but on the first page it states that evga supplies a powerlink with this new series. Right above the picture with the powerlink on it. Is that incorrect then? Maybe just for reviewers only? Did they provide misinformation?
Thanks for your reply!

Did you also upgrade/improve thermal paste application in new ICX cards? I'm sending both my cards - GTX1080 FTW and GTX1070SC for an upgrade but I would like to know. I did the thermal pads mod with the kits you sent me but once I took both cards apart the thermal paste was dry and sparsely applied. Once I applied the new paste the idle temps dropped by 5 degrees Celsius.

I got an adapter when they first came out and unless you have a really big case, (I have a Thermaltake P3), it doesn't help but in fact hinders using it for better power cable management.  Had the design allowed the main power cables to be plugged in at the bottom end of the adapter instead of the side then this adapter would have worked much better.  As it is, the power cables plug in directly into the side.  Also in many instances, the gpu's are too long already to allow the adapter to be used at all.  Again, mine is now of no use at all with the case I have.

Based on that information, I was able to find the review.  I'll have our EU side look into it.  Although we've had a Powerlink promotion in the past, the iCX cards do not have a Powerlink bundled with the card.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

I've changed idea. I've also spent 560 euros on my 1070 SC and 20 for a sostitution back in October, the upgrade seems good but not at this price.

Thank you anyway for give us the chance.

I submitted for an upgrade but it is stuck on pending.

I was trying to time the upgrade so that my card can go through the shipping process while on a vacation.

So a new cooling solution to fix the thermal issues that wasn't a thermal issue on the ACX 3.0 FTW cards.

If our initial card had a 90 day warranty (due to coming in a pre-built), does the upgrade ICX card still get the full 3 year warranty?

Someone in the thread mentioned sending their regular FTW edition that hit 2120mhz in and getting back one that can barely keep above 2000

Hi all, I signed up but am wondering if anyone has a guestimate as to how long before we're pulling our old cards and resultant turnaround time?

Yes, it shows me as eligible.  Still getting occasionally crashes when gaming for a while (even after RMA my first card), so I'm considering it.  The 3 year warranty might be worth it by itself.

Just noticed that i forgot to paste the url... Sorry for that :-) be.hardware.info/reviews/7215/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-sc2-review-peace-of-mind-gaming ( I'm glad that you found it anyway!
I'm expecting my icx card today. If i had known that the info wasn't correct i would have ordered a powerlink right away. Now i have to pay shipping costs again to get one :-s
I'm sure that i'm not the only one in this situation. I was thinking that if i would order an acx model and a powerlink the price was roughly the same as the icx card (with the powerlink supplied anyway, i thought). Bummer i guess as it turns out that the opposite is true :-)
What could be the turnout for the reviewing website? Hopefully they have to, at least, adjust their review with the correct information.
And as for me, a free powerlink isn't happening for bringing this to your attention i guess :-p? (can't blame me for trying ;-) )

I think, and could be wrong, that the only people that have received their cards are the ones that bought them direct from newegg or other stores. I think evga is working on approvals as they can.

Poliacido
a 100€ upgrade for a card that will be the same, only more fancy and a bit cooler...
also is it guaranteed that the new card will boost like or better than my previous ACX ? it will be a big fail if the card overclocks worst

It's WELL WORTH the extra $100 for the upgraded ICX card considering your ACX card will quickly drop in price and not be as valued a reseller later.
The ICX is made to the same specs as the ACX so it should not overclock worse.  Except for the additional thermal sensors and capability of the cooling fans to independently speed up or slow down as needed temp wise plus the additional led indicators it "should" be much more efficient and capable in overclocking.

I can imagine EVGA will take care of all the direct buyers first as that's their main profit line.  Those waiting on exchanging ACX to ICX would be filled once stock is in ample supply.

Is the 1080 ICX FTW the same size as the original 1080FTW? I'm thinking about doing the upgrade, but want to make sure it will fit in my case - the Corsair 250d.

Awesome - thank you! I saw that it was listed as the same on the site, but just wanted to double check - I've seen some competitors mislabel the height of their 10-series cards.

Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 10 Series Cards with iCX Technology! 2017/02/16 14:00:51 (permalink)
I see people stating the status of their iCX replacement is "Pending".  I requested a replacement for my 1080 FTW and got the confirmation email that it was received on Feb 11th.  But I don't see where the status of the request is...

Where can you find this?

I'm really hoping I can get approved and send my card out before going on vacation in a couple weeks so I have next to no down time :)
