werty316 Fresh new warranty. Complimentary return shipping. You get a nice spiffy shirt. You only pay to ship your card to EVGA (if you use EVGA Bucks to cover the $99 that is) Whats not there to like?
The only issue for me would be paying duty and taxes.
Dont care I have 10 years... You have your shipping to pay... Dont care of a tshirt So its 120 dollars... 120 dollars, the same level of performance for a total of a little less than 600 dollars for a 1070... yes yes yes this is a very nice deal ;)

Www.evga.com/icxupgrade. Change www. To match the region in which you reside. For example, europe would be eu.evga.com/icxupgrade

wbonami I took the time to read al the reviews/tests about this new design. In one of them they said that a powerlink adapter was supplied with this new series. Is this so? Doe the cards with iCX come with the adapater?
Which review was that? Powerlinks do not come standard with iCX graphics cards.

Scarlet-Tech One thing folks need to keep in mind, we all have our own opinions. If someone is upset that evga did exactly what the end users have been asking for over the years, then let them air their greivance as long as tbey stay in the terms of service.
I agree with you, but I'd prefer grievances to be thought-through before they are posted. Some on this thread are not, and serve no constructive purpose. For example, threats of a class action lawsuit and claims of an unsafe product are juvenile and need to be countered with a little reason IMO. Just my $0.02. :)
Exactly...

ramma Is there any reason to think the iCX changes may reduce the chance of whine since they've been designed with the thermal issue and trial fix in mind? Also, is the asynchronous fan feature handled purely on the GPU or is it reliant on the XOC software? I've now had 3 post-thermal updates 1070 SC's with whine that makes them unusable because it triggers migraines within a few minutes. Such a shame considering the original pre-thermal update card had no whine whatsoever. Everything considered (original price, ERA, extended warranty, and upgrade) I'm looking at a total of over $600 to maybe have a usable $400 card. Pretty sad. It'd be great if part of the upgrade cost went to increasing the step-up MSRP, especially considering the price difference is only $10 (excluding the current ACX discount).
Read this article on page 2 they talk about the fans and how they are controlled. Apparently there is an issue whereby the 'right' fan is controlled by the temps of the Memory chips situated under the left fan which might be by design, but is in their words "illogical". http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/evga-gtx-1080-ftw2-icx-cooler,4925.html If it is by design it would validate Steve at Gamers Nexus point that EVGA was going for moderate Temps and Moderate Noise at stock. Because if the right side fan were controlled by the Temps of the hotspot on the VRM bank and Memory chips right next to it the 'right' fan would be 100% all the time. The 'left' is controlled by the Temps on the GPU. Of course one can always set a custom fan curve but as most people won't know how to do that and or start to complain about the noise it is a no win situation.
It's by design, not an issue. During testing, the hottest VRAM chip tends to be the one closest to the PWM area, which is within the cooling sphere of the right fan. As the PWM gets hotter, so too does that memory chip, for which the right fan generally compensates for. Visually, I understand it would make more sense to use the left fan to cool the memory, but the numbers bear out more that the right fan will keep the other components at a lower average level. As noted, you're always free to run either fan at whatever speed you'd like. So, if you'd like the left fan to run a bit faster to compensate for what you think might cool the memory better, then you can use Precision XOC to do so.

LFaWolf Warranty and Step up questions - 1. I read that EVGA will provide "full" warranty of the new ICX cards. Does that mean the 3-year warranty starts on the shipped/billed date of the ICX cards (reset), and not my ACX cards? Can I purchase extended warranty just like a new cards? 2. Also, if the GTX 1080 ti comes out within 90-days of the ICX shipped date (I feel it might due to AMD new cards), am I eligible for a Step up? From what I read I, it is. "EVGA iCX cards received through the iCX Upgrade program are eligible for the EVGA Step-Up program for 90-days from the date the iCX Upgrade product is shipped to you. For EVGA Step-Up purposes, the value of the iCX Upgrade will be based on the MSRP value of the respective iCX graphics card listed on EVGA.com"
1. Yes. If your ACX 3.0 card you send in had an Extended Warranty, then the EW will transfer to the new iCX card. Otherwise, the iCX card is not eligible for an EW purchase. 2. If such a hypothetical card were to come out within 90-days of your Upgrade, and that mythical card was placed on the Step-Up list within the 90 days, then yes, you would be able to Step-Up. The price for your Upgrade iCX card would be set to the MSRP for your respective model of the iCX.

Thank you!
I know what you can apply from Asian sites.
But, in the explanation of this thread
Http://www.evga.com/icxupgrade/
Since only the site of the site was written, I was worried whether I could subscribe from Asian website without permission
I applied for it at once.

DarkTech i think this is absurd and a slap in the face to release a "safer" product after selling what i suppose is classified as unsafe and then to charge customers more. now pretty much all current acx 3 owners either give evga more money or suffer from crap resale value. i definitely wont be surprised if this company crashes like BFG did i have lost total faith in such a company after such scummy tactics to give a big middle finger to its customers. its ok tho nothing wrong with the beta 10 series of these cards after all they are labeled safe too right oh wait no there not. it should be a damn free rma exchange for these "unsafe cards" instead evgas gotta make more money off their screw ups in design as its the customers fault for trusting such a company. my damn 1080 ftw cards a month old. and i got 4 year ipr on it. over $1000 candian investment to be slapped in the face yet again for there flawed cooler design and very terrible slogans.
It was never classified as unsafe. NEVER. The cards were always still marginally within SPEC. *snip*
So safe they added a protective fuse to the new version. Haha.
Designs are updated over the life of a product. Do you know why the fuse was added? No, you do not. To imply that adding a fuse means that the previous design was unsafe is defamatory and without basis.
I certainly do not have "peace of mind" when gaming without it. I really hope someone is putting together a class action about this.
I couldn't agree more! I bought mine from Amazon December 28Th and had till January 30th to return it but I never did I then jumped on the upgrade program and to get a spot in que so I could have time to think about it. I literally just got off the phone with Amazon customer service and explained away the situation, they are letting me return my EVGA GTX 1080 SC in favor of any new GPU. I couldn't believe it, Major props to Amazon for understanding the situation so for now, I pre ordered the EVGA GTX 1080 SC 2. I am still going with EVGA because IMO they have some of the best customer support although I think and believe that some people are getting shafted. I don't mind if anyone disagrees with how I feel about this situation; the bottom line is that it's my PC, My money a possibility of a better GPU than the original design. I am removing myself from the pending que so someone else can have it.

The iCX version will not have RGB LED for the main logo, similar to the ACX 3.0. The iCX card will have configurable RGB LED for the G, P, and M letters on the heatsink, however.

ACX is definately NOT unsafe! If it were a recall would be issued. A benjamin and your old card to get a brand new card is a pretty good thing and something not many companies do. Internet search for "salt lamp recall" and you'll see what happens with unsafe electrontics.

Well, I placed myself in line to do the swap. Not 100% sure I will go through with it since in all honesty, as others have posted already, my current card works fine with the BIOS update and the pads. Plus, I'd be without my main rig for however long it took for shipping.
