Is there any way to revert back to the original factory/default BIOS? I say this as my temps on the primary GPU either with 1.0 or 1.1 are significantly higher than those on the secondary card. For instance, on Youtube two minutes ago, my temperature on the primary 580 were 62 celsius and on the secondary they were 33 - no such thing occured on the default BIOS.

Anyone who is having issues with Fan Unlocker 1.1, Jacob posted links to Fan Unlocker 1.0 here: http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=854218
It fixed my and several others dual monitor and nvidia surround problems.
That fixed my probs so far it seems.. 4 out of 4 reboots i got to the desktop and no black screens! Though i now have a new prob going to the new .83 bios from .82. Now my card wont downclock just sitting idle. Stuck at 943Mhz, so thats really keeping the temps up.

Thats probably because the .83 bios seems to not wana downlock the cards off of the 3D settings when idle.

Is there any way to go back to the original bios? Sorry I'm kind of a noob when it comes to flashing things.
Just incase the unlocker doesn't work properly, I want to be able to revert to the original bios.

Is there any news as to a fix for the 580 not downclocking when 2 monitors are being used. I've tried the bios update, changing refresh rate. I got it to downclock using Afterburner but wondering why it wont or when it will do it natively?

Does the fan speed unlocker in anyway change how the fanspeed scales, like for example before updating at 60c the fan would be at 55% and with the new update its higher/lower or the same ?

Alright, so what is the new bios version after updating as what I've seen from the rest they say this new bios gives 1.1150v as max volts, I already have 1.1150v accessible by default but only limited to 80% fan speed.. not that I would even use 80% or make it go near 75%

Hmm the VID is changed in steps. 1.088 is a valid VID 1.082 is not. That could be an issue with whatever S/W you're using to read it. The flash should not change your stock VID.

I just reached the front of the queue for a second 580. EVGA will likely receive my 480 in about two weeks--I cab't mail it until next week. Will the new 580 I receive have the new BIOS? If not, which approach would be best: remove my existing 580, install the new one and then flash it, or, could I leave the already installed 580 in place, enable SLI, and then flash both? I will be flashing the 580 I have now right away.

I got this bios and tried it. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that with this bios when you start the newest version of windows live messenger for windows 7 64bit the videocard goes from 2d mode to 3d mode speeds and the temp of my videocard goes up any ideal why this would happen and has anyone else noticed this? edit: never mind I see some things with this bios keep the card from going back to idle speeds, I seem to found windows live messenger is one of them ... at least for me

I'm interested but I prefer to wait for a bios that clocks down the same as the card currently does. It's not a huge issue but I just thought I'd put it out there. That said I will probably be switching regardless once it starts getting warmer if my fan tops out, which it hasn't yet, but it has been a cool spring..

is the original pre-30% fan speed bios still available from evga up request? i am curious to try it out because i flashed the bios as soon as i recieved my card and the card does not have enough factory voltage applied to it at stock clocks. under certain DX environments it will hard-crash / black screen constantly unless i very slightly increase the vcore. i am wondering if maybe the 30% fan speed flash had something to do with it.

Does anyone know what EVGA's official policy is on doing this? i.e. is the lifetime warranty coverage affected in any way if I should need to return it for service someday? I know you can use EVGA Precision to overclock; I'm already a bit faster than an SC card now with no voltage boost. I figure if I'm going to reflash the BIOS, I might as well give myself a small upgrade for those situations where Precision won't work (in Linux for example.) Thanks!
