I've wondered why its disabled from going 100% from the factory - is it noise or do you guys worry about current draw from the fan on whatever circuit it sits on?  Maybe its not rated to draw the fans current @ 100%?
 
 
Also - is this easy to install for 3 580 SCs?

Back to where I was. Only displays one monitor 2nd is down again. Flashed 1.1 v , updated drivers and reconfigure Nvidia control panel.  No luck.

My nvidia surround is broken after applying this update. I have reinstalled the drivers many times and contacted support. Any other ideas?
 
Two of my three (non-sc) cards came with 70.10.20.00.82 and one came with 70.10.20.00.80. Now all of them read 70.10.20.00.81 and I cannot get nvidia surround to work. My screens just go black and then the system locks up.

I actually just fixed mine doing something similar. I used nvflash and found the correct BIOS (70.10.20.00.82) that matched my hardware ID. After the flash I'm back to being as good as new! Thanks for the help though.
 
Weird thing with mine was that if I used two cards I could get it to work but not three. This is a word of warning to anyone who uses nvidia surround. Just back up your current BIOS just in case.

Hello all! This is my first post here as I now finally own an EVGA GTX 580 Superclocked on my new rig I just built.
 
Anyhow @ ycgerard, I'm having precisely the same problem as you are.  The original BIOS worked perfectly, but now that I have it updated with the fan speed unlocker, I'm unable to use both monitors at the same time without having to tweak some things.  
Only one of my screens will display something when I first start up despite installing/reinstalling drivers and the updated bios.  
 
However, there is a temporary fix that works for me.  I hope you're using Windows 7 because I have no clue if this will work on other versions.
 
Right click on your desktop and select "Screen Resolution"
Click on the display that isn't showing, and change it's resolution to anything lower than what it's currently displaying.  
Wait a few seconds.
If the other screen (the one that doesn't work) shows a picture, select the "revert" option, then wait another 10 - 15 seconds, and both of your displays "should" work properly and proper resolutions.  
 
I have been doing this for the past few days and I hope it helps you out, at least until we can get a more permanent fix from nVidia and/or EVGA.  
EDIT: I tried using the nVidia control panel for this and this technique didn't work.  However, when I did it under the windows option, it did.

I had flashed back to the original 1.0 version bios and upgraded to 266.58 drivers. Both my dvi and mini hdmi displays now work with dual monitors. Coincidently now I can set my fans to 100%. Strange but happy it works. Previously I had left rocket dock on during my initial flash so that might had given me these issues. Just make sure to turn off all running applications.

hey guys, i thought i was reading afterburner allows 1.15v max w/o bios flashing? what version do i need for gtx570? im using 2.1 b6 and its capped at 1.1v

Well, if you have GTX 570, then you are in a wrong thread.

Well I tried the BIOS flash. I'm not sure if it took or not?
I use EVGA Precision Software to higher my clocks. I use EVGA E-Leet Tuning Utility to higher my voltage to 1.1v. I used 3D Mark 11 to find how high I can take the card stable and run through benchmark at mid performance level 720p and high performance 1080p.
 
I've got a GTX 580 SC on Intel i7 950 3.07 CPU with 6GB Corsair Dominator RAM system. 
 
I was assuming the flash 'auto-overclocked' the card to a safe OC?
I OC'd the card manually since it didn't 'auto clock' like I thought the flash bios did'.
Did I flash it correctly?
My GPU-Z spec the BIOS says 70.10.20.00.81.
 
I'm @ 907Mhz GPU Clock / 1111Mhz Memory / 1813Mhz Shader. Getting 14% gains out of this card on air cooling. Flashed the BIOS from EVGA.

43.5 Pixel Fillrate / 58.0 Texture Fillrate / 213.3 Bandwidth @ 1.10000 Volts. 

  

Played Crysis @ Gamer mode 1280X720 AA x4 stable. Cut through it like a hot knife through butter.
Played Crysis @ Enthusiast mode 1280X720 AA x4 stabe. Nice eye candy.

I had specs a bit higher prior and saw some very slight video spotting in Enthusiast mode so I backed down on specs just a tad from 922Mhz core to 907Mhz and only lost 1.0 GTexels / 0.5 Gpixels / 6.7 bandwidth. No more slight video spotting and plays very stable at full throttle. Didn't want to brick my new GPU and the loss was very very minor to be stable.

Idle temps 39C with fan @ 40% full throttle highest temp hit 76C with fan 80%.  
 
I thought I could push  the core to @ 950Mhz?
Is my OC on Shader and Memory keeping me from reaching full potential by having them set to high?
 
Lastly I had to ask if this BIOS Flash disabled the power monitoring system that dynamically adjust performance in certain stress applications feature on the GTX 580?
