so what about people who did the step up? i dont qualify now because of it but was an elite member before.... i was told to span forms in the support chat essentially to reach my 100 posts saying to just post emojis... is that really what i have to do?

i had my 1080ftw and i thought that i need to un-register the card.. to "free" them to the new buyer 

lol all doing the same thing? spam emotes-emojis?

yup im ordering my 1080ti asus strix now, to have to jump through that and destroy forms where people want to talk is ridiculous, i only did it in here to prove a point..... i may be fed up with EVGA but im not about to mess up a community of peoples forms to get something i already earned from purchasing 3 cards.

The "elite member" promo with that way.. is a little bit point-dead i think...

dude its ridiculous, and the step up program voids your elite purchase that would originally qualify you as well, so if you did the step up, the only way to get the colored cards is to spam the forms for hours. yea nice one evga, lost me wonder what itll do for others

UPDATE on the EVGA bucks situation for Elite upgrades:
 
After my troubles with email support I gave EVGA a call.
Within 5 minutes they had it sorted out and EVGA bucks should be deducted when the GPU ships.
 
This continues the flawless streak of EVGA phone support coming through to resolve my problems.

Although, this is a non-issue now since you can just order the Elite cards regularly and use bucks at checkout...

I'm hoping to sell my FE card from stepup personally and get an Elite card. Have nothing but great things to say about the stepup program. Have gone from a 980ti classified to a 1080ti FE in just over a year.

EVGA is the only company to offer a step up program and it loses them a customer... I'm biting my tongue here but the self entitlement from some of their "customer" base is unreal. Sorry but you really can't please everybody no matter how hard you try. It's sad.

first of all the step up was a pain in the rear for me as i got the wrong card, second of all its not like its the most magical thing ever, got burned once let it slide when customer service lacked, got burned again and now onto other brands

See, these are legitimate reasons to ditch a company. However, not meeting a requirement set by a company is not. Especially when they give you a 100% free and attainable way to meet said requirements. They put that 100 post think in there for a reason. You can spam emojis if you want (nobody cares) or add to a conversation. It's not that big of deal. I dunno... Just my 2 cents... I can't keep my mouth shut sometimes when I should.

How come it does not qualify for the Elite Membership?

I understand the "company" side of Elite membership, but from a consumer perspective the market is going to be flooded with cheaper items, like power supplies that the consumer bought only to get Elite membership. Raffle the first set off to winners guaranteed to be able to purchase the card. This isn't the way to make consumers satisfied, just additional aggravation.
