Has anyone put Noctua Fans on the 280 unit? How is the performance?

Are these coolers compatible with any of the aftermarket GPU brackets? Corsair /NZXT?

I'm trying to front mount this radiator and cannot for the life of me get the screws lined up -_-

Does it matter if the fans are in front of the radiator or behind for drawing in air?

oh well I manged to get them in the front.

My temps are jumping up and down 8-10 C per read in the flow control monitor? Is this normal for clcs? I've only used air in the past. It seems odd. Also temps are in the 50-60 range doing nothing. Is the software just buggy?

running this on a 7700K

Ended up disconnecting the USB cable and uninstalling the Flow Control... The software didn't recognize CPU temperature, and only allowed to change LED static color, nothing else, not even fan curve adjustment. The software kept the pump at minimum and the fans would either max out or stay at minimum rpm. This on a clean Windows installation! Very buggy software, has nothing to do with Precision for example...

So now I've got the Pump set at max through BIOS (great pump, very silent), and a custom fan curve through BIOS control as well. Works great, temps are low, and the fans don't need to spin above 1500rpm.

PS: Best looking AIO I've ever had. As for the top mount on the DG-87, it's just a matter of moving the included top fan all the way to the right, and installing the rad on the left and center top mounts. That way the tubes don't strech.

So I have installed this CLC on my MSI z270 M7 motherboard and I am having some problems.

The water block is plugged into my USB 2.0 header on my motherboard, but - for some reason - it is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. When I investigate the issue further on device manager, I get the error message "this device is compatible with USB 2.0, it might not work when plugged into USB 3.0." This is strange since it IS plugged into USB 2.0. I went into my BIOS and legacy is enabled. I am pretty sure I have all the most recent drivers as I have clean installed windows 10 and reinstalled all the drivers from MSI's website several times. If anybody has any similar experiences, please advise.

That is odd, it's usually the other way around! Try disabling the legacy support option for USB. This board has four USB 2.0 headers according to the product page. I recommend testing in the other headers to see if you have the same issue.

If you have a moment, please rate my service. We appreciate the feedback!

Finished my build but the fans are awfuly loud in my evolv matx case... Even at 1200 rpm they sound a bit loud. The fan curve seems a little too aggressive with this 7700k. I'm getting idle temps jumping between 36 and 46 for some reason every second.

regarding pump speed? What's a good setting?

Could u please upload a video where the LED sync, maybe with Rainbow affect, is working with an CLC and an evga graphics card.
Also show how to set this up. It is not working for me since release. Only Single Colour change is working.

i think i am too stupid.

You're not.  Its broken.  Flow Control 2.0.3 DOES NOT fix this.

EVGA are being really damn slow with updating this software, it only needs some bug fixing and it'd be fine. Having to re-apply a custom fan curve profile at every reboot is getting rather annoying.

Does the "device not found" error only occur when trying to open through desktop icon? I am having this issue but have only ever tried to open from the desktop. In device manager I have an error of the USB device not recognized and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling software and then restarting. It says it has the latest driver. However, when uninstalling and reinstalling I get the message as shown in this photo...

Also, anyone with 7700K run prime95 stable with a 4.9/5 Ghz overclock or close to these settings with this CLC? Am hitting temps in the high 90's within 10 minutes.. I know this chip is hot but didn't know if this was the typical heat level for this setup.. or if I have a faulty pump or something..

I just installed the CLC 280 but I can't control the fan speed using the the Flow Control software, they always spin at 2200 rpm.
The noise is really annoying.
Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Think you might have to set your fan to pwm in the bios, not dc.

Does anyone else get a weird pump noise with the EVGA CLC 280 every so often? Sounds like RPM is increased greatly for 2 seconds, then noise is louder than normal for a few minutes then returns to normal until it happens again.

If you have an uncertainty contact EVGA tech support. I have noticed on other AIO solutions that the pump can increase slightly for a few seconds if additional heat is detected.

Can't decide if I should get the EVGA CLC 280 or the NZXT Kraken 62x :/

Both are my favorite brands, tough choice...

Re: EVGA CLC 120/280 Liquid CPU Coolers 2017/07/22 15:23:11 (permalink)
Just got my New clc 280 this week. It is pretty cool.

My old AIO cooler from a popular company that won't be named died.. Pump started to make farting sounds and my temps all of a sudden heightened to the 90+'s celcius. Pretty disappointing . Was only 1.5 years old and the company wanted to charge me shipping back from east coast Canada to west coast USA for a rma under warranty.... So naturally It was more economical to just buy a new one with the high shipping costs from Canada post. Decided to go with EVGA since i never had any component die from them in my 10+ years of using their products. I am glad i did.

I temporarily had a old stock cooler from intel in my system after my old water pump died. Reset my overclock to stock for safety reasons and the temps were pretty dangerously high for gaming or any type of vr stuff. Once the EVGA 280 was hooked up my Temps decresed by like 25-30C when gaming and i was no longer in panic mode. Left it at the default flow control settings. It is quite a bit quieter then my old one and a lot nicer looking with much better performance.

So far so good. My only pet peaves is the software rgb control is a bit wonky right now. The rainbow effect is off sync when following my 1080ti. the breathing effect seems to revert to white instead of black. No Nvidia LED visualizer support and it seems to be ignoring my fan curve upon reboot. I don't quite know what is up with all the closed loop coolers software from every damn company on the planet, but From EVGA to Corsair to NZXT, all the software is buggy. I swear the company that makes non buggy software will be king. EVGA should perfect their flow control and that alone would make em stand tall above the competition. Because right now every single company makes pretty reliable hardware but slacks big time on the software side. It is rather uncanny and strange...

Anyway I am happy with my purchase. Summer is here and it is nice to have some reliable cooling :). Just hope they get the Flow control updates rolling out faster rather then later.

Re: EVGA CLC 120/280 Liquid CPU Coolers 2017/07/24 20:40:56 (permalink)
I just bought the CLC 280 and put it in yesterday. I noticed I was sometimes getting up to 80 degrees in CPU intense games and was trying to figure out why. I finally just noticed that my fans will only stay at 1320-1380 RPM's no matter what temperature I had. I set my curve to a quite aggressive one as well. I did notice that on one of the connectors that come from the block to connect the fans from the radiator, that one of the wires was missing from the 4 pin connectors so it only had 3 pins in one of the connectors and 4 on the other. Is that normal? What else could it be? I tried turning the smart fan mode in my BIOS to on and off and still the same thing happens. Its on PWM too by the way. Just making sure.... I was supposed to plug the 3 pin connector that said "to motherboard" to my 4 pin CPU fan header right? Never have done that before but from I read that is the correct way.

Um... isn't it supposed to go to the PUMP header?

The pump might be limiting the fan speed to avoid drawing too much power through the CPU fan header.

Purchased the CLC-120 recently - and must say I absolutely love it. Looks amazing in the new build I made for my gf, and performs incredibly well!! Could not be happier. We've left the EVGA logo as white LED to match the GPU (Which I also picked up last week, a B-stock 970 SSC works like a charm, just didn't realise it didn't have a backplate so ordered that this week..!)

Here's a pic attached!

There's a mini-USB port on the pump and a mini-USB to internal USB header cable supplied with it. So you'll need to have that plugged in and then install flow control software.

I left mine on auto for both pump and fan speed.
