Ok so it comes down to figuring out if you are more likely to refer enough people to offset losing the discounts yourself. If you upgrade EVGA hardware regularly (which many forum members do), then you might want to reconsider being an associate... unless you hand out on a lot of other tech forums and can refer people that way.. except tech forums tend to not like that kind of thing, particularly if it's somewhere like ASUS, lmao. Dunno.. seems strange to me.

bcavnaugh So is this Real or Fake?
Extremely misleading. Sure it's real if you use someone else's code and DO NOT sign up yourself, despite the bottom of the ad saying you should sign up... Yeah, someone didn't think this through. Great deal though. Ironically, for some people it might be worth canceling associates membership to get the deal lol.

I signed up for the program when they released it, but now after thinking about it not sure it's a benefit for me. I'm not out there enough on social media/forums to really spread my code to really gain any benefit from some EVGA bucks kickback. And I miss out on all the special deals they have going with the associates code. So doesn't seem like it's a plus for me to stay in the program. I haven't heard of any other perks of being in the program besides the EVGA bucks kickback, has there been any other mention of potential future perks that I'd be missing out on?

Another special coming for associates program codes - RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin, with AiO 240mm radiator, built-in OLED display to show stats etc.. price TBA. Presumably this is again only if you use someone else's code and you are not a member yourself... which is a great way to get people to cancel associate membership lol. so silly.. Also the 1060 is down to $189.99 with associate code (so again, associate members can't use it).

Was good to see the e-mail/newsletter announcement for the 2080 Ti Kingpin today. I've been wanting to buying a 2080 Ti Kingpin, but haven't bought enough products recently to qualify for elite. It seems I would need an associate code in order to buy one at launch. Does this mean if I can find someone to give me an associate code, they would get a referral bonus and I would be able to buy the card at launch?

Yes that is what it means - and you'd also get a special price. That is providing you are not an Associate member yourself. If you need a code, there is one in my signature. Most members will add it to their signature if there's someone specific you want to use.

The program does have a 30 day window before the EVGA bucks are applied to your account. The program is just slightly over that 30 day windows so I would give it a couple days and reach out to support. Also make sure the EVGA bucks are still showing as "Pending" and the Associates Program page still shows the transaction in question. Since you don't earn the EVGA bucks if the order is cancelled or the product is returned it's important to make sure that nothing happened that would remove the expected EVGA Bucks.

Yes itβs all still there and after the 30 day window. Just wondered if anyone else had theirs hit yet. And I was surprised on the 30 day window. I thought it would be 45 because of return timeline.

I would give it a few days then you could contact support if it hasn't been credited. I haven't had anything go beyond 30 days yet. I just know from Folding it can take a few days after you put in the request for it to be processed and I would assume they do the same kind of window for this program in which the 30 days goes by and then they make sure everything is still valid then award them. As long as everything is showing up when you look up the information I am sure you don't have much to worry about and it's more of a matter of when you get credit instead of if you will get credit.

I think lots of people didn't realize on the Kingpin for example, all they had to do was use someone's code to purchase the GPU and get a discount but too many went in thinking they needed to create a code while not realizing what was happening and missing out on a discount which would have been around $95 off the GPU. Than those funds could have went towards a Kingpin Waterblock (soon) and possibly enjoy another discount if a code is used on that product too. Nonetheless, I saw the confusion from the beginning and tried telling folks how this worked. Some of these EVGA advertisements make people think if they sign up with the Associate program that they will get discounted pricing on products. You have to use an existing associate code while not having one yourself to get discounts. Again, if you get your own Associate Code setup, you lose any discount opportunities. If you cancel your Associate Code, you lose any rewards generated during that time frame.
