I purchased a 3090 on 11/04/2020, EVGA said we would have water blocks later that month, I'm still waiting to put the card in my PC, this is ridiculous.

I purchased a 3090 on 11/04/2020, EVGA said we would have water blocks later that month, I'm still waiting to put the card in my PC, this is ridiculous.
I have been waiting for the same... but I have been running mine in my case on air. I've already done hard tubing to the approximate location and looped it back to the radiator. So do a patch of flex tubing until you get your card... or do some test bending with hard tubing like I did, and 95% sure will need to replace once I get a water block.

Why not just get an EK block. At this point I just need a 3080 of some sort, I'll figure out the cooling once i can get the card. My 1080ti is crying under the load of triple 1440 in newer games.

Why not just get an EK block. At this point I just need a 3080 of some sort, I'll figure out the cooling once i can get the card. My 1080ti is crying under the load of triple 1440 in newer games.
Ek's 3080/3090 FTW3 blocks are out of stock, with a predicted restock in April.

To me that sounds like there may be a PCB revision coming and would also explain why the HC cards have been delayed so long.
PCB revision sounds good to me, having had 2 FTW3 Ultras hit with the red light. Maybe its related?

Yeah, the delay is getting to be unusual. A simple block revision doesn't take three months. It makes me wonder if EVGA decided to redesign the blocks for the 3080 Ti cards before NVIDIA announced it was freezing new SKUs. 
 Have water, will cool.

I think if a PCB revision is coming then it’ll come around the time the 3080 Ti will launch. My guess is that the new PCB will then be used for the 3080, 3080 Ti and 3090. So they’ll probably wait for 3080 Ti production to start before switching over for the other models. Revision could fix some of the issues we are seeing reported for the FTW3 cards (load balancing, black screens, red light of death, etc).

Yes, the bit that was registered for queue of them when they first went live before eVGA cut off the first batch have shipped or are shipped, apparently. Hopefully that means SOMETIME soon they will get their queue buttons turned on & we'll finally get a Kingpin HC listing & button soon.

The November limited-sized tranche of registrations started receiving FTW3 HCs this week. XC3 has not yet launched/dropped. The latest summary for the North American queues can be found here: North American Notify Queues. I hope that helps.

I assume these are the redesigned blocks. Sure would be nice to see if there has been any changes to the PCB, considering there is already talk the blocks wont be sold as an addon (KP block not withstanding).

How long was the queue open for the first tranche? I keep checking your NA notify queues (freaking awesome btw!) and they are almost at 10 am ~1 hour after opening (3090 FTW3 Ultra). I completely missed the first queue, but I know it wasn't open for very long. If they satisfy the first round I imagine they will open up the notify button soon after.

I don't see switching to 7nm as that fab is already full with all of AMD's products among others, so I don't see that as an option to supplement capacity at this point. Not to mention that the (alleged) reason that Ampere is on Samsung is because of the way nVidia handled the situation. I don't see TSMC caring to help nVidia out while AMD would gladly take all the available capacity. As for a board revision, who knows. I think that most of the AIB's got jammed up by nVidia this go around with a short turnaround window to develop final products because nVidia was holding so much close to their chest until their reveal event so it's possible that some board need revisions for a multitude of reasons that may have been fleshed out had everything gone at a different pace with a different level of information being shared. None of the above is meant to blame or **** talk anyone, juse what I've gathered. In the meantime, I roll a 3070 until my name is next on a 3080 or 3090 que, because cards aren't really available elsewhere lately.

Is it safe to assume these HC are ok in a Non-Aluminum loop? My other EK parts full Nickel (or Nickel Plated). I mean it’s called the Hydro Copper so...lol. Just not seeing any comparability language anywhere.
What if my loop was aluminum? I’d be out of luck right?

Essentially, yes. The standard is not aluminum loops and unless EVGA pivots away from prior offerings, they will be copper loop only cards. You're best bet would be then to get a reference design card like an XC3 and put another vendors reference design Aluminum block on the card.

Yeah makes sense. But since I don’t have an aluminum loop, I should be fine then? It’s EK nickel, which I assume is brass with nickel platting.
