very cool! I wonder if this pump would be okay enough CFM-wise to push a 240mm rad?

Very cool mod. What kind of overclock is on the CPU with your vocre and what kind of temps are you seeing under prime 95 or linX load? I'd really like to know the temps before and after the mod.

that gives me all sorts of bad ideas about my brand new H50... you're definitely an inspiration to hardmodders ;3 Thanks for posting, and giving a novice some ideas :) sorry for the wall of pics, but that's my current set up ^^; first placement was hanging off the back and side of my tower, for lack of anywhere to put it... the tower's rear 120mm mount is just a BIT to small to mount the rad, so I tucked it up under the CD drive, along with two 120mm fans. the pump is controlled by a Zalman fan control, and the fans are looked after by speed fan. There's one fan pointed at my GTS250, also zalman cooled, and the 4th 120mm at the front, pointed back at my hard drives. Nothing near as fancy as I've seen on the forums, nor as clean and tidy, but it gets the job done quick and quiet, and that's all that matters :) the last pic doesn't do it justice, the two UV cathode tubes make everything glow, from the Ram sockets, to the power connectors on the PSU.

It ain't much, but it works... M4N82 mobo, 8gb DDR2 1066 mushkin blackline, AMD Phenom 965 BE stock, GTS250 @ 821, 2052, and 1206(zalman cooled), 120gb, 500gb, and 1tb SATA...

Whoa! I am impressed! If I had know the H50 could be modified to use other tubing I would have considered it as an option...

WOW! Awesome job! I'm thinking about going for the H50 in my setup. BTW nice NVIDIA logo on the front of your case, is that a sticker or did you paint it on?? I want one! :P

did you run into any issues with the pump not having enough power to circulate 2 rads?

clutch2go did you run into any issues with the pump not having enough power to circulate 2 rads? Not at all, the pump is working perfectly. I belive that the manufacturer of H50 (the one who actually makes it for Corsair) has another version of it with 120mmx240mm radiator using exactly the same pump.

Well I ordered myself a new case so while I was waiting for it to arrive I thought I would mod my H50 as well. However I added a Thermaltake reservoir and I was able to get it bubble free in only a few hours. My case shows up tomorrow so I will post completed pics but for now here is the cooling system. I am letting it run over night to check for leaks. Oh I also added some LED's for a nice glow too! Thanks for the info it made doing this very easy! I even went to Home Depot and picked up the tubing. BTW, it is the 3/8" tubing needed for the mod. I took the radiator in with me to be sure I got the correct size.

All these Mods for the H50 are great, which gives me ideals on how to mod my own. for a closed loop i wonder if it would be possible to add a petcock to the radiator (like a car radiator) to let the air out and be able to add coolant? the separate res method looks to be the best way though and give a more true water cooling setup look. aww the choices!!!!

You never gonna get 100% air out of close system like the H50 mod, but i dont think it is neccessary anyway. Even stock H50 comes with a lot of air and you can hear it when you shake it :)

I will be following your guide and modifying 2 H50s with a similar setup, but for the purpose of using it as a cooler for my GTX 470. Mainly with this waterblock/heatsink combo from Swiftech created specifically for the GTX 470 and there is even one for the GTX 480. I am just considering it now as my GTX470 fan blows like a jet when under a full load and it gets HOT! Do you guys think it would be possible? or would 2 H50s be insufficient for the huge amount of heat that comes off the 470?

A single H50 can handle 95w @ 48C to 50C. (test of core i7 870 with H50) and the 470 GTX has about 215w TDP. With two H50's you might be able to support a load of 215 @ 60-65C I'm guessing.

It was definitelly worth the time. Pump is enough for two rads, no doubt about it. The temps are better enough to let me run my 920 at 4GHz on full load below 80c. My 920 is pretty bad and requires high voltage so stock H50 didn't really do the trick.
