While playing Control, the computer randomly shuts down and I have to manually boot it again. The first time I started the game, the computer crashed as soon as I loaded in. The second crash happened after about 15 minutes of gameplay. It's not a blue screen, it's a complete shutdown. It wasn't doing this when I was using my 1070 just yesterday. Has anyone else dealt with this and fixed it?

PSU is brand new and was working perfectly fine with my 1070. I'm seeing people say 750W power supplies aren't enough when the card spikes. I'll keep an eye on the temps and see if it's overheating, but so far it's been running at about the same temp as my 1070 ± 1 or 2 degrees.

A complete shut down is either overheating or a PSU issue 90% of the time.  Based on the fact that you have a eVGA 750W Gold PSU, which is a known "does not work" PSU with 3080s across many many reports of issues with it, I'd say test a different power supply that's beefier if you have access to one.

Yeah, based on all of the issues I'm seeing crop up with 750W EVGA power supplies, I'll try out this 850W that came with the card and see what happens. Thanks!

If it shuts down, check your temperatures while in the BIOS. I saw this happen with our 3090 FTW3 ULTRA when I had it in a smaller form factor case with worse airflow (until it was corrected) and the motherboard was getting up to 95C despite being completely fine and cool while under a 2080 Ti. The 3000 series is definitely warmer with a higher power draw so it's something to look into.

My system only crashed with my 3090 once when I had stock cooling fan curves and I suspect it got too hot. I opened my case and turned up all my fans and now my system runs like a perfect little miracle. I suspect a lot of people's issues have been heat. Systems seem to get hot fast with these 30 cards in them.

Yeah, it was the PSU shutting down whenever there was a spike from the 3080. Played for an hour without any issues using the 850W. Thanks, everyone!

Ever since I switched from my old Cooler Master Cosmos case to the NZXT H510 Elite case I'm using currently, I've noticed that the GPU temps on my 2080 Ti are roughly about 5F - 10F hotter then they were in the older case. Once I landed a 3090 @ MSRP, I decided to go all out and replace all the fans in my case with Noctua 3000rpm fans.
 
You can also buy a bracket off of Amazon that allows you to install dual 120mm fans in an PCI slot(preferably just under your GPU). The one I got is called a "Maxmoral Dual Fan Mount Rack PCI Slot". Was $8.99 - attached 2 of those Noctua 120mm 3000rpm fans to it.
