Hey all I am looking for a good program that I can use to monitor my CPU temps/usage for my GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 motherboard that will show up on my G15 screen as well.  I was running CoreTemp, but ended up finding out that it was screwing with my Win 7 64bit Ultimate version and causing problems.  Anyone have suggestions?  I know ASUS boards have built in programs like this, but as far as I know Gigabyte motherboards don't.  So anyone have any thoughts???

Intel Core2Duo 6750 (2.66Ghz) OC'd @ 3.55Ghz stable / GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 Mobo / ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler / Ultra X-Finity 600 watt PSU / EVGA GTS 450 (FPB) / 2 x 2Gbs Mushkin and 2 x 2Gbs G-Skill DDR2 1066 / 750Gb & 320Gb WD HDD / Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer Soundcard / Sunbeam Transformer ATX Full Tower Computer Case / Windows 7 64 Ultimate + Ubuntu 10.10 + Fedora 14

Will it run on my G15 LCD screen or in the toolbar?  Or is it a program that you have to manually start and have pulled up on the screen to see the information?

that i cant tell you cause i dont/have never owned one of those keyboards. i dont see why it wouldnt. as far as running it, yes it will have to be in the screen or you may be able to insert it into vista/7 gadgets.  you cant tray it, only minimize it but it works very well.

Have you checked g15mods.com ? there are some applets for the g15 you can check the LCDsirreal but i think that has no temps but you gain other features. You can ask on that forums web for someone that can guide for this purpose.

Thanks NerdGZ I didn't know about that website.  I am currently running LCDsirreal and I love the app except it doesn't have the temp monitoring.  I will look on that website and see what I can find.

AFAIK, CoreTemp is the only one that has G15 support. Problem is, it bombs for me during high activity like benches. I find Real Temp to be much more stable, but sadly I haven't found a way to make it work with the G15.

The developer of LCDSirReal is pretty responsive, though. Have you tried asking him?

@Brazen, no I haven't thought of asking the developer of LCDSirReal.  You think there is a possibility there?

You never know until you try. I'm not sure that Real Temp offers anything to integrate.

FYI, Core Temp integration was a request.

Ah, yes, you're right. I've disabled it's LCD output since it doesn't integrate with LCDSirReal.

Except doesn't this program only work with EVGA motherboards?

Re:CPU Temp Monitoring Programs 2011/01/11 12:27:18 (permalink) ☄ Helpful
Sorry didn't notice you said you had a Gigabyte board.  So I'm not sure.  The program uses CPUID data so it may still work.

I was curious myself so I tried it on my company laptop.  It works the same as CPU-Z more or less and displays all of the CPUID data, it just doesn't let me tune frequencies (which I wouldn't do anyway).  Don't have a G15 to try it on at the moment but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Also, I don't know if it matters to you but it will only display the average core temp on the G15 LCD, meaning you won't see the temp of each CPU core.  The link to the utility has a mouseover pic that shows you what it would look like.

Sounds like it will be better then nothing at all.  I have CoreTemp running finally (found a standalone version for 64bit) but I still don't use it 24/7.  I will check out that program you recommended and see if I like it or not.

You need LCDSirReal. Works with Core Temp and Speed Fan.
It takes a little to configure and the standard font isnt that great but once you set it up it's really nice. Everything all on one screen.

All of it is customizable. Here are the supported apps.
The following modules are allowed:##
CLK# Show the world clock. Click to change timezone.#
STW# Stopwatch with lap time. Click to start/lap, long-click to stop/reset.#
SPK# Shows speaker setting, volume, mute.
TS2# TeamSpeak2 running: Shows mic status, player count and will display current # speakers and people joining.
AMP# WinAMP running: Shows current bitrate and time remaining when the current song , shows the title in the log area.
NET# Shows network history the last ten seconds, or totals. Click to # change displays between OUT, IN and TOT.#
FPS# FRAPS running: Shows the current FPS count if it isn't zero.
COR# CoreTemp running: show highest and the average core temperatures.#
TUN# ITunes running: Shows average bitrate and time remaining.
RIP# Nonresponsive program detected: Shows the first few characters of# the window title.
CPU# Shows detailed data from CPU and memory.

Yeah I even paid $5 bucks to SirReal as a donation.  I have the settings configured and love the program.  It works like a champ!  Was just hoping that somewhere there existed a program that would work directly with the Gigabyte board, but since I got CoreTemp running with everything I think I am good.  Thanks all for your thoughts and input!

Hello,
whats about these Temp-progs noted below? I assume, these should be compatible with your GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 motherboard.
- Core Temp  from http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
Core Temp has a logging feature, allowing a user to easily record the temperature of his processor(s) over any period of time
- CPU-Control  from http://www.koma-code.de
CPU-Control handles the CPU-affinity for multicore-systems (supports quadcores as well). Instead of running each process on both CPUs you can define it as you want it. For example, if you want to seperate the firewall and the anti-virus-software from the graphics-application.

Core Temp is nice, but it always bombs on me on stress tests like Linx. RealTemp is much more stable and dependable in my experience. Core Temp does integrate with LCDSirReal for the G15, though. E-LEET can display its values on the G15, too, but on a separate page.

I have no experience with CPU-Control, nor have I ever heard of it.
