I will definitely be getting one of these. From what I have been reading it seems this will be a month or so behind schedule. The new products coming out this spring/summer are going to break my wallet.

If the new UHD resolution didn't just come out, I would probably get one of these. But I already have a regular 27" 1440p screen and am waiting to upgrade my monitor with a UHD one.

"There are currently no formal changes. The product is still under design and development as such we are tweaking and tuning to aspects that can still be changed at this stage to release the best product possible. Projected release time frame is still early to mid Q2. Stay tuned for more information." "We are currently looking at trying to achieve the best balance in the implementation of the polarizer. Overall we expect it to meet the demands of the majority of gamers. For those interested in a solely gloss based implementation we will continue to monitor feedback from our users and the community." There seems to be matte/gloss-war going on.It will be matte, but more towards gloss than usual matte screens. Source: http://pcdiy.asus.com/201...e-best-gaming-monitor/

I'm completely fine with that. I think Asus did a pretty good job on the pb278q.

a 2560x1440 >120hz TN panel Quick, tell me how many IPS or any other tech can reliably do that. Oh wait, there aren't any. There's also the built in G-sync going for it.

No matter how you put it 800$ for a TN is very expensive. But oh wait because there aren't any more quality panels, than TN, that can reliably do 120hz, we don't need to build one! People with money will surely buy it when we put the ROG logo on it...

That is a bit expensive I believe. My monitor can clock up to 120 hertz and it's also 2560 x 1440. It costs half the price. However, ASUS monitors are very good quality. Maybe the price will come down a bit after all the hype.

I love the looks, its a bit expensive especially we have seen 4k monitors go for a bit more. Why can't EVGA make monitors like this instead of the interview... I will wait until hype is done to buy, hopefully prices will reach $600 after a few months.

quality/1ms/Gsync raises cost quite alot..and ofc ROG-sticker.Sure it is little overpriced, but everything new always costs.Sadly there aint currently any similar monitors in horizon,so asus can ask what they want.

I just sent my 24" Asus TN 144Hz back to Amazon. Could not get over how the color was muted and reading text gave me a headache. I spent a couple of hours adjusting the settings and used the NVIDIA color correction tool as well. It did get a little better from stock. Also the vertical viewing was extremely annoying. If I moved up or down a little, the screen would not be in its ideal viewing angle. I had to sit in exactly the same spot or I had to adjust the monitor. Blacks were horrible as well. I wanted this monitor to be a great little monitor for my second computer, but I could not stand it. My 2010 Mac Air 11" has a better picture! went back to a Dell. Got a 24" 1920x1200 ultrasharp for $230 instead..hopefully get it this week from Amazon. For the ppl buying the 27" Asus, I hope they fix the color and viewing angle.

that's my issue with TN panels, particularly as they get bigger. i would bet that the 27" will be worse than the 24" you had because the sweet spot is going to be smaller given that it's bigger :(
