2 out of 3 Asus 2080Ti Strix card died. I ended up selling the third. Hence going back to EVGA but it's sad to see EVGA is still affected as well. Binning these utterly expensive 2080Tis for overclocking is a pain if they end up dying right after you found a good one. Sometimes it takes one day sometimes 4-5 weeks for the artifacts to appear... soon after no more boot into windows.

I’d love to know the real failure rate. Do any of them last even a few months?

Would be curious to know if folks putting Full Cover Blocks on these Cards are getting good results with little issues.....seems its mostly Air and Hybrid Cards that are failing......

I have been hearing good things with those on RTX Ti Black (Non-XC/300) GPUs with blocks on them.  Getting some decent OCs on them but I'm holding off on mine till X1 gets out of BETA and is more stable to play with.

Yes thanks.....its kind of what Im seeing around the Forums...common denominator perhaps is heat and effecting VRAM / Voltage Regulators not playing nice on Air / Hybrid...throw in some OC'ing and it compounds the problem...throw on Water Blocks on perhaps no issues.....?

Pretty sure a lot of failures, mine included, have occurred even when the card has been running with no heat issues. I’ve read about some with water coolers that have also died.

^^^^ vs Water Cooling 75-85c is heat (most efficient WC Max under load is 40c or less).....that could be all it takes with these Cards (not good)...as said not seeing many complaints from my peers on water....

I'm just saying mine didn't get any where near what's considered dangerous temps. So if they're dying at mid 60s that's some really bad news

Yes thats not good.....I hang out at OCN and I have noticed a number of my fellow WC'ing enthusiasts with these same Cards and not really hearing the complaints I am here....or on other Forums with Air / Hybrids......mid 60's full load on a 2080Ti is quite impressive !!!! All im hearing is there peaking out at 78-80c with aggressive Fan Curves.....you must have very good case air flow....

Oh yea, very good case airflow and very low ambient temps.
Fully loaded phantom 820 and I like to keep my room at 65f or so. I'm one of those people that just runs warm. 2160mhz and 8000mhz memory and my highest typical temp was 64c. I've seen 66 but never really sustained. And that was just auto control from px1 without editing the fan curve at all.
The card really does great keeping cool.

64c is pretty damn good with Auto Fan setting for sure.....my old 680's and 780Ti (last Cards I ran on air) used to see temps up to 72c with an aggressive fan curve and a Corsair 900D case with 15 fans.....if you get a chance loop Heaven for about 30 min and throw up a pic....as thats impressive ;)

Well sadly as I said that card is now dead lol, but when I finally get my RMA I'll give it a go.
And yea my old 980ti classified hit 80-84c in the same conditions. I've never been so impressed by an air cooling unit.

One thing to consider, these GPU's are thermal sensitive with a 89c max thermals compared to other gens which was higher than that.  IIRC, my old fermis had a 100c+ max can't recall exactly and one of the reps told me once that it was engineered to handle UP TO 125c or 130c before it would have a complete meltdown. lol

As for the RTX, some other parts of the PCB are hitting somewhat above average temps like the top and left or right RAM banks (can't recall exactly which side it was) since release.  In most cases I've seen the GPU run cooler then those RAM banks and we were only able to see this with those that had the XC2 sensors so I can imagine so many with unknown temps since majority won't have those sensors including myself but I"m not too worried since it's custom liquid cooled with more than enough headroom for cooling.

It looks like these Micron DDR6 chips run pretty warm or the cooler design isn't making full contact with all the banks since one of the 3 banks is usually much cooler (20c roughly?) than the others or maybe that's because the load isn't spread out evenly but again, I'm not sure but what I do know is many have seen these disparities and I cross my fingers I don't run into any issues being custom cooling cause it's a pain in the wazoo to change hardware and troubleshoot as I already experienced this with my rig that took several days to figure out and lots of wasted coolant.  I must've wasted almost 3-5 Liters of premixed liquid and looking to stock on some more cause I'm looking to do some redesign upgrades since I lost one of the two DDC pumps. That all makes sense entirely.....looks to me like the Full Cover Blocks are working to cool the Memory Chips...VRM's and GPU as there designed to do.....yes the 480 Fermis were extremely hot but of course higher threshold.(I had 2 of em in my System running SLi back then).....
That was around the time I decided to "explore" Custom Loops...in all honesty purchasing the "best" GPU at such a high premium requires at least "entertaining" getting them under water....dating back to 280's....the premium cards always struggled with heat.....sure 65-75c aint bad for air.....but 35 - 40c is a heck of a lot better....if I stuck to air cooling I would have dropped down a notch ang gone with the GTX XX70 or GTX XX60Ti line up instead......
....sucks to blow thru so much coolant....my routine is to leak test and run fro a week or 2 on "distilled only".....then drain and replace with coolant......I feel your pain :)

I’d like to hear some success stories of people that have had RTX cards for months with no problems. Give us some hope.

I’d like to hear some success stories of people that have had RTX cards for months with no problems. Give us some hope.

I've had both of mine since 10/19/2018. No issues thus far.

I initially had one card go bad back in Oct when I got mine, RMA was only a few days and my new card was perfect. So far they have both been solid ever since.

With that gorgeous build and 1000D I sure hope you have WB's on em .....like my 900D that 1000D is a WC'ing Case with sooooo much room for radiators....pumps and rez... ....
If and when I ever swap out my 900D it will likely be to the 1000D !!! Like the swing out doors and glass vs plexi...!!!

If its anything like my 900D...with all the WC'ing in there...+ almost 2 Liters of Coolant...has to weight close to 75 lbs or so.....its crazy that anyone would use this case unless 2 Boards and / or WC'ing......I hate tight cases when installing Loops.....the cable management side is incredible....sooo much room!!! My wife would s%&*t seeing Purolator show up with this ....sort of like the box the Dell Alienware Ultrawide showed up in !!!
