Man this thread is making me scared that I just dropped $1500 on a EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid card.  I sure hope it works out of the box and doesn't die in 1-3 months.  I guess I better keep my Radeon RX Vega 64 liquid cooled card for 6 months or so.  Its odd because I was just watching this video and Gamers Nexus was saying how the failure rates were only 3.5% or something for retailers and 1% or so for partners.    says that in the first 50 seconds of the video.  This is what convinced me to finally buy one of those.  Of course now that I look at it this video is from mid November so I wonder if those stats still hold up as true.

Of course most people that post on NVidia's partner forums are those that are having problems, as people that have stuff working perfectly probably don't even come here much.  So could just be that.  Here is hoping!

If I was to jump into the tank I'd really only be scared if I was water cooling the card as it would be a mess to possibly take it apart for rma. Air cooled not a big deal as long as I had a 1080ti standing by as back up.. it's sad right?

Well I bought the RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid edition so will have the closed loop AIO cooler on it from the start.  I got spoiled by the 2 crossfire Fury X cards I used to run and now I have a RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled edition so both of those cards were great with the AIO factory water cooling.  The Fury X cards still run well in other computers in my house right now.

Card came in and installed it, all working so far though I haven't run anything on other than Windows so far.  Looks like I got Samsung RAM though not sure that really matters now as the Micron RAM thing seemed to be uninformed information.

This just happened. Anyone know a program that let me downclock memory further?

I have had my card for 2 months now too. 2 days ago I had random crashes (complete computer crash) and I thought it was BFV being stupid. Anyway a day later and I get this on booting. Then windows barely recognised the card and would put me in 1024x768 or some other super low resolution and no amount of DDU, safe mode and driver installing would change anything :( Device manager had an error code 43 on the card, saying that it was disabled because it reported problems.

I sent a service request to EVGA, but its Sunday in Europe so I guess they arent working. Is there anything else I can try? I tried the obvious things like different cables and drivers.

Just started having weird green/red artifacts randomly pop up watching YouTube or just browsing in Chrome. At first I chalked it up to being a glitch with riva tuner, but just a few minutes ago I saw a red glitch artifact appear for a millisecond. I checked my ICX temps and everything is cool and the card is idling. I've had the card for a little over 2 weeks and I've been having more frequent crashes, albeit while overclocked. I'm now starting to wonder if the memory is going. I've been building custom PC's since 2010 and have owned 6 different GPU's and this may be the first one I may RMA or return.

Having bad manual OC's outside the advertised speeds doesn't necessarily qualify for an RMA.  You just might have a bad OC'er if this is the case.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

You may want to run some benchmark stress tests. Like MSI Kombuster or Heaven TimeSpy. Slowly dial up the overclock until it becomes unstable, then you will know the limit. I can only go +175 core (2150 mhz) and +800 memory (7800 mhz). Any further and it is unstable, even when temps are below 50 degrees at stock clocks. I couldn't overclock at all, or it would freeze up, every time. I had to RMA my first card, but it would freeze the screen, cause BSOD and cause the space invaders artifacts. If it is doing that, send it back. My second card works great. I have the XC Gaming. Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone still having issues with artifacts + freeze with rtx 2080 ti? 2019/04/12 19:53:31 (permalink)
Within an hour of installing it(2080ti FTW3 Ultra), crashed while live streaming on Twitch. Restarted the game (Division 2) and froze with this weird pattern. Within 30 minutes of the last crash and filling out service ticket, black screen, artifacts, and freezing.
 - About 8 or 9 minutes    Channel: Sam_Hammerballs
 - About 30 seconds
Disclaimer, I do not live stream for any benefit nor do I care if anyone subs to this channel. I am there only infrequently.
Let's see how long it takes for EVGA to respond for the replacement request.
Next Day -
Two issues in one day -
#1 - Failure to apply a discount on my FTW3Ultra card when I was billed.
The reply customer service email was just lazy, "Sorry we can't help you". The invoice had the sale dates on it showing 4/1 - 4/30 (purchased on 4/8). This was supposedly an instant rebate. In my email I pointing this out. I suggested a store credit. I am building a new system and there were a few parts I could use on the website. The rep had to step away and speak with a supervisor. When he returned, the only option was EVGA Bucks. Not a refund for the difference. I received the card the day I called and was fully prepared to send it back unopened if they declined to provide the refund.  I settled for the bucks because I was thinking of getting a cooler or power supply.
#2 - The 2080ti FTW3 Ultra started failing within the first 30 minutes of use.
After hanging up with the refund issue resolved, I opened the package and installed the card. In the first thirty minutes, the card failed while playing "The Division 2". I was actually live streaming on Twitch (Channel - Sam_Hammerballs, not monetized). Apparently I chose poorly when I didn't send the card back. Artifacts resembling space invaders, black screens and computer freezing up. Within an hour and while I was trying to fill out the service ticket, the artifact again and I froze up. I again got the black screen and had to do a hard restart to finish the EVGA service ticket. I eventually had to be removed the FTW3 card and reinstall my old card to finish filling out the service ticket. You just can't request an RMA. You have to first submit a service ticket and upload your receipt. Of course, I purchased this from EVGA directly so that seemed redundant. I understand the need for the receipt if not purchased directly from EVGA but really.
So within 6 hours, I get the response email approving the RMA. So link to fill out another form and said receipt from above. Complete the form and get the following message:
[<font]There has been an error while requesting your page, and our team has been notified.
[<font]"The request from 73.254.18.32 at 2019-04-13 14:29:35 GMT for the URL /support/submit rma.asp cannot be served due to error 159 on the host
So now that it's after hours on a Friday, out of luck, the RMA department does not work on the weekends.
Today I call and speak with the only option available, tech support. The phone tree is long. However, the wait once you reach the destination was not. The Tech was helpful and actually started the process. However, another process that is three-steps? He could not just take the information and make it happen? And since its on the weekend, out of luck until Monday.
So a bit disappointed. I have purchased many EVGA products over the years. At least 4 video cards. It's nice there is a warranty process, but going through that process is frustrating when it's multi-step and it doesn't work. It seems more like its stalling, hoping you will just walk away out of anger or frustration.
The icing on the cake - Recieve a survey from EVGA via email this morning. Complete the survey and get the same "error 159" message. Go to the website and attempt to do it there, the same message.

I'm having the same issue with the card I purchased at the end of April RTX 2080 XC Ultra. What are my options?
