There was a mentioning in reddit that in nvidia forums there are a lot of complainers about artifacts and root cause is a batch of defective video memory (gddr6 is new adter all).

Was thinking this when I saw the picture, it looks like bad memory.

With that gorgeous build and 1000D I sure hope you have WB's on em .....like my 900D that 1000D is a WC'ing Case with sooooo much room for radiators....pumps and rez... ....
If and when I ever swap out my 900D it will likely be to the 1000D !!! Like the swing out doors and glass vs plexi...!!!

It's also designed to hold another desktop so you can cool off two PC's in one case. lol  It's a beast of a case.

If its anything like my 900D...with all the WC'ing in there...+ almost 2 Liters of Coolant...has to weight close to 75 lbs or so.....its crazy that anyone would use this case unless 2 Boards and / or WC'ing......I hate tight cases when installing Loops.....the cable management side is incredible....sooo much room!!! My wife would s%&*t seeing Purolator show up with this ....sort of like the box the Dell Alienware Ultrawide showed up in !!!

I feel you fam.  I dread it when I have to move my 900D like I have the last few weeks on troubleshooting.  I feel like my case weights 150-200lbs but it's probably less than that but the way you hold on to it moving to the next room for dear life while slowly losing your grip and hoping you get to the table asap.  Till this day I'm really curious how much this case weights with everything in it.  I can only imagine having a 1000D.  I don't think I'll be moving that thing around without a dolly. lol

Regardless, in a week or two, I will be wasting more fresh fluid (lol!) while purchasing 2 1 Liter bottles since they don't have 5L chugs in stock from the etailers around here (Modmymods/PPCS) to change out my old bay reservoir and pumps (1 dead) for a EK Cylinder Reservoir (My first) installed onto a EK Revo D5 PWM pumps in serial and install it on the side of one of them HD cages.  Been planning it out the last few days on how to go about this and have the best experience as opposed to the pain of filling a bay res, etc and not being able to run the pumps at full bore since the bay res was too shallow while sucking in air.

Ok enough of my story, back to you Barker!

There are A LOT of people complaining about their 2080Ti's dying. Funny thing is, the complaints all have the same symptoms. I hope Nvidia gets nailed with a class action for this series of cards.

Bought a 2080 Ti XC Ultra on Oct 26th from EVGA store. Its been having a LOT of "rendering device lost" issues with overwatch, Black Ops 4 and PUBG (was in the pubg crash XML file as Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006))

I was in severe denial about all this for weeks but its been getting worse, could not even get through a PUBG game today without a crash to desktop. The moment I knew I was done for was when I was in lobby on spawn island in PUBG and flashing red orbs were appearing all over the screen.

Never seen that before in any game until today when the crashes were non stop. And now it wont stop with the red orbs on pubg. I think shes a goner guys...... probably that "GDDR6 memory" issue.

I think im going to go to bestbuy and get a founders RTX 2080 and wait the inevitable few weeks for my RMA..... I cant be without a GPU for days while they cross ship me one..... At least ill get the free games and ill be able to return(or resell if need be) the 2080 after I get my RMA back.

Yeah I sold my 1080 TI FTW3 to a friend.... so did my roommate when he upgraded. I kept my 1080 ti for about a month to ensure I had no RTX issues, oh well..

All I have left is a GT 1030 in my Plex/HTPC box.

It sucks because im in NC and EVGA uses UPS ground and they are in Cali.... In a best case scenario, I would not get a new 2080 ti until probably the 28th.... if I cross shipped.  At least I have a 30 day return window with BestBuy elite membership.

I'm now having this issue on my second 2080Ti XC Ultra. The first one had an issue with RGB. This replacement began artifacting and freezing in every game just this week, and slowly but surely, it's getting worse.

This card hasn't been over clocked or seen consistently high temps. I really don't understand what the deal is. So disappointed with Nvidia's defective line this time around. $1300 is a lot of money.

Are all these RMA's the reason for the price increase on the ti's?

Might want to wait 3 months, some cards took that long to fail.  I have seen cards bought in early January that failed.

My replacement ftw3 is getting ready to be RMA'd
First one artifacted second one freezes as soon as heavy 3D load is applied. Does fine in light games and regular browsing but locks up and goes black screen on stuff like deus ex and odyssey

They just called me to let me know my replacement card may not be a NIB even though they at first assured me it would be.
This entire situation is getting more and more frustrating, as it seems every different rep tells a different story.
$1500 and I haven't had two weeks of owning a stable card and now I may wind up with a refurb. Yay.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I'm fearing the same when I begin the RMA process for my $1300 paperweight.

You paid full price and they are sending you a refurb? Are they refunding some money? That's seems shady AF if they don't, unless of course you agreed to it.

Well I'm talking about the original purchase, but it's past the thirty days so they're trying to pull that card. But my first card they took ages to accept it as defective and rma it, was artifacting for weeks, only accepted it for rma once it was artifacting as soon as the driver would load and I couldn't even load my desktop at full resolution. The second card would black screen when I tried to game without overclock, but with max power target. Apparently they don't guarantee being able to use max power target; but then it began doing it at complete default. So rma time.
I ended up speaking with a supervisor and explaining my case and they approved a new card. Said they won't again, but I'm praying there isn't an again.

The retail box literally just the card and a tiny piece of paper.  Honestly if the card doesn't have a lot of scratches (why would it?), and it works like it should, I wouldn't care one bit since it's under warranty by probably the best AIB out there.  You still have your original box etc right in case you want to sell it later?

I'm having enough issues with brand new cards, don't wanna take my chances with a refurb, and again. It isn't what I paid for. Most expensive mainstream consumer GPU ever, I'd like to actually have a working card, with 0 scratches.

I received my RMA 2080 Ti XC Ultra back yesterday and I got about 5 mins in on Windows and BAM instant crashing on any 3D load that stressed it.

Its a real shame, the card could barely even load windows without crashing and starting blue screen/boot loops. If you did manage to get into windows, random slivers of pixels would artifact and flash.
Load up pretty much anything and if you could even see anything, it would look like this:
https://imgur.com/a/yM5Viw0
I have never had such an instantly bad GPU, it was my understanding that they test these. It came in a plain brown box, so not sure if refurb or new. but seemed new.

Of course, I put my RTX 2080 Founders back in and enjoyed perfect performance and no issues. They did set me up with an EAR RMA which is greatly appreciated (living in NC, UPS ground is SLOWWWW). Just thought id let you guys know we still have bad cards coming out in Feb 2019.

Re: Anyone still having issues with artifacts + freeze with rtx 2080 ti? 2019/02/22 15:28:44 (permalink)
I just got my XC Gaming 2080ti, and started to have crashing, freezing, blue screens, and then......the space invaders artifacts. It would crash randomly and totally freeze up any kind of overclock was applied. It would also get stuck at 1350mhz. So, typical bad 2080ti symptoms. Already have RMA process started, but just disappointed that this issue still remains. Looks like it was a bigger and more wide spread issue than Nvidia stated. What was embarrassing is that I had my friend come over to check out my new build and they all got to witness the card crashing. I was trying to show off my EVGA only build with EVGA 2080ti, X299 Dark, PSU, Keyboard, Mouse etc. Needless to say, they were not impressed. Fingers crossed the next card works.

Got 2 XC Gaming 2080 Ti, 1 for my brother, and 1 for me. My brother's last for 40 days-ish before it keeps having the 'nvlddmkm error' on game, tried so many things but the only workaround is doing the -999MHz on memory (-49 works at first, then need -149, -199 and so on and so on). The second card, i put EK block on it since day 1, but now starts having frequent 'nvlddmkm' issue also after 40 days-ish using the same driver since day 1. Never got artifact or space invader tho. Debug mode also crash, the only thing that works is the -999MHz memory, hopefully it wont ask for even lower than that eventually since precision only allow that much.
