guillotined Sorry but have to rant. Woke up at 8am to check nvidias website (per date and time given by them) and did not see anything about being able to preorder. I keep checking multiple pages and google searches- nothing. Called nvidia an hour later and they said to just wait for the email that I should be getting. Called again at 11 and they said it's sold out. This is already annoying. But then I look at ebay right now and see that there are 92 listing of people selling their preorders (all for 900+). Some guy even said he had 3 available. This is quite a bad business practice, and if you're one of those people doing this.... I hope karma gets you.
People that actually desire the card should be getting the preorders, not people looking to scam suckers out of an extra $300.
Ive edited your post to be within the terms of service.
Also, dont buy from scammers. Period. Nvidia warrsnty is non transferrable, so anyone that buys the overproced cards will get screwed if they need to rma. Just ignore ebay and show some patience.
Plenty of used titan xp's on ebay. Too bad most buyers dont know warranty does not transfer. Its why i like evga

Scarlet-Tech Lets also state.. vr usually needs 1 hdmi, correct? So why do you need more than 1 for VR? Display port has always been far ahead of hdmi, so it should be more available.
Yes, the headset itself uses just one hdmi. The issue is that once you put the headset on, it does not mean you see everything thats happening. So you either need to unplug/replug the hdmi each time you need to click on something, or you have a second hdmi cord running to a monitor. Being that they are pushing the VR so much, you would think theyd have addressed this concern. Its an issue to ALL VR users, not just certain groups. Now, you can use a DP->HDMI adapter, but there are issues when you have a 4k monitor. Long story short, the tv/monitor will flicker (sometimes non stop) because of a strange framerate incompatibility. Long story short: VR users need a second hdmi port if this were truly a card that they market as being VR-centric.

If you are using a 4k monitor, an actual monitor, it should have display port, which supports up to 8k resolutions last I heard. Is there 4k computer monitors coming out without displayport on them? Everything I have had in the last 4 years has had displayport, so I guess I didnt think about that.

Scarlet-Tech Display port can be used. Display port to hdmi isnt expensive. You arent hindered.
Not trying to go back and forth with you, but you must not have read what I said about 4k monitors and DP>HDMI adapters. Also, it would be just as inconvenient for a person needing an HDMI>DP adapter. No one likes having to use adapters. The question would be, who are they trying to market themselves toward more? 3 monitor setups, or VR? Based on whats here, we have our answer. But, thats why I said they shouldnt market this as a VR-centric card.

Only the current VR headsets use the HDMI. My monitor uses DP as do all of the high frame rate monitors. If VR wants to go up in resolution and frame rate the headsets will have to go with DP anyway. And as has been stated, it comes with an adapter for that purpose, just as we used to get dvi to vga adapters before.

I'm confused as well. I mean why don't you just use the displayport to the 4k monitor, like you should be anyways, and then use the hdmi port to the vr. Why does that not work? Frankly I can't think of any new monitors, certainly 4k ones, that have hdmi and don't have displayport, well except for 4k tvs and they're not monitors. I don't see why that second cable has to be hdmi, like you seem to indicate it does. Maybe there is something that both me and Scarlet-Tech are missing, but I just don't see the issue.

Ah, you're correct. Don't know why I said monitor actually. Its a 4k TV, EF9500. I agree that most PC gamers probably have 4k monitors vs TVs, but with VR that might not be the case. Myself and many others (based on oculus forums) use a large 4k tv as their monitor so that friends/family can watch and see while people are using VR. You can imagine a 30 inch monitor would not be so great for this. The flickering causes by DP>HDMI adapters make my $10,000 setup look like dump. If im paying all of this money for these systems, I shouldn't have my experience ruined by a $25 adapter.

Ok, it makes a lot more sense that it is a TV showing the issues, not a monitor. I am curious is a second, low-end card could be utilized to mirror the display, like a 1050 or 1060. It wouldnt have to render anything, just mirror the display for the tv, and it would afford you another hdmi port. Personally, I dont want to lose 3 display ports for any reason. A tv isnt the same as a computer monitor, and isnt a direct replacement.

I have 980ti SLI and have wondered the same thing. I haven't figured it out, myself. A few people have asked about doing this, but the answer has been no, that you cant use both hdmis. When i have tried, the other HDMI output is blank. I would be nice if someone could figure a way around this, but that would still be a silly solution vs a card that just has 2 HDMI outputs. I'd be all for the Oculus using DP, but its not the case and I doubt they will be changing it anytime soon if not ever.

If the cards are linked in SLI, the second card will not utilize the display outputs from what I understand. I may look at this when i get home, becaude i dont have a pc where i am to try it.
EVGA did make the "VR edition" card for a little while, which had a second hdmi that came from inside the case to a front panel header, and came with the front panel bay tonutilize the hdmi and 2 usb 3.0 ports. It could be a possibility in the future.

Wouldn't suffice. Adapter means no monitor HZ overclocking. Does EVGA add or remove ports with their cards vs the reference version? Or do they just make different coolers? I know that ASUS will have one with a DVI port, even though the rerference version doesnt. Curious about how that works exactly.

The reference card is made and designed by NVidia, EVGA usually doesnt change the reference design. Their custom cards are the ones they normally change, but rarely do they add new vga ports. The 980ti K|ngp|n was the biggest one to have a change, and that was mini display ports and adapters.

I see... Just FYI, DVI-D is digital and VGA is analog, they aren't the same thing. (IIRC atleast.)

For those who have followed previous releases of EVGA graphic cards(this is the first time I'll be purchasing on initial release date, I hope), are the Classified models usually the last model to be released by EVGA in the product line? Or will they release with the all the other models like FTW, Hybrid, Hydrocopper, etc... at the same? I'm really excited for this graphics card and to upgrade my two 980 Ti Classifieds, but I'm hoping to get a little information on how EVGA typically releases their product line, even though I know there is no guarantees that the 1080 Ti will follow the same path. Thanks!

Please! EVGA, tell us when you release this to step-up. I have a 1080 FTW Gaming and I would throw money at you if you replace it even with a FE. I still have 40 days left and hope that you could release it before that ends. Just tell us the month and at least I will be happy because I know if I will still have the step-up option or not. Thank you!

I hope that NVidia gave EVGA some lead time to develop their own boards. It would be terrible if they would follow the Apple model and do some significant changes just before release and AIBs have to struggle to redesign their boards.

I'm really excited for this graphics card and to upgrade my two 980 Ti Classifieds, but I'm hoping to get a little information on how EVGA typically releases their product line, even though I know there is no guarantees that the 1080 Ti will follow the same path. Thanks!
I hope that NVidia gave EVGA some lead time to develop their own boards. It would be terrible if they would follow the Apple model and do some significant changes just before release and AIBs have to struggle to redesign their boards.
That would be horrible! I hope that isn't the case. Hopefully we can get some more information on this as time goes on. I'm ready to buy two cards as soon as they release, so EVGA has my money already, they just need to decide when they're ready to take it .

Gold Leader Well I am gonna wait til EVGA released the GTX 1080 Ti Classified iCX and take one of those instead of all the others Only I have no idea when a Classified model would be released, isn't that mostly 1 months after the launch of a new product, or much earlier? My Upgrade path is from a 7 year old EVGA GTX 480 1.5GB to a current gen EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Classified iCX 11 GB... Should notice some differences
My upgrades are usually from "Classified" to another "Classified". I'm very happy with those cards.
Yeah, I 100% agree with you there. I am defint' going to be waiting at least a hybrid version cause I got 2 980ti hybrids currently, Hybrid ftw would be a much better choice at this moment, can't wait till it gets released.
