If you plan to use waterblock, go for reference PCB.

Question why would you say only waterblock reference PCB. I get it for compatibility but what about the improved power phases? Technically the overclocking potential is greater on a FTW3 PCB under blocks would it not be?

Doesn't really matter for Pascal gpus.
Better temps due to more mosfets to spread the heat load and larger heatsink and fans to reduce board temps.

I am still incredibly surprised that people still believe the extra vrm means there is better overclocking potential.

Yea most PC Gamers are not going to know diddly about board architecture or power delivery. They usually assume the card has more potential because of the way EVGA markets their cards. The more expensive aftermarket PCBs usually come with higher overclocks so based on simple logic we assume it would perform better under the same circumstances as a reference card.

I hate this radio silence. I wish EVGA would at least say when they can tell us more. "Coming Soon" could mean literally anything.

Most other manufacturers are silent as well.

I know asus released a 1080ti strix to a few review sites, but I have not seen a release date or anything yet. Hopefully everyone will be giving out details here soon. Once again, keep in mind that the 1080 and 1070 had a grace period before AIB could release boards, so that the founders cards had a wider window before AIB took over the market.

People...just be patient. EVGA isn't doing this to purposely make anyone mad. They're not entitled to give you information when you want it. They will release information when they are able to do so. Waiting a few days or a couple of weeks isn't going to kill you.

I am contemplating a new build. What the 1080 TI FTW or Classified costs and performs will determine whether I do the build. I have been waiting for this release since the 980TI was released. Having waited that long, I don't think another few weeks or so will make much difference. It will all work out in the end.

Besides, think about it. EVGA is in the business of making money. We have a whole lot of people throwing our credit cards at them right now. Does anyone honestly believe EVGA would not be very happy to take our money as fast as possible? They aren't taking our money or talking about their products because they can't. If other companies decide to violate the agreements they made does not mean EVGA should violate the agreements as well. That's what we like about EVGA, they do what they agree to. Be patient, I'm sure everything will work out in the end.

Ryzen R9 5900X, Asus X570 Crosshair Viii Hero, 32 GB DDR4-3600, EVGA RTX 3080 Ultra FTW 3, Phanteks 400A Case, 2X 1TB M.2 SSDs.

Ryzen R7 5800X, Asus TUF X570, EVGA 1080 TI FTW3

I definitely have my eye on the FTW3. I'm anxiously awaiting, but my current 1080 FTW is doing just fine for now :)

asus strix is for ln2 purpose.

I'm not interested in LN2 at FTW3.
And to be precise - then any card is suitable for LN2, especially with a serious voltmod. ;)
So it's not about the mosfets.
I would love to buy a Classy version. But I'm afraid she will have to wait until June.
I already have almost no patience to wait and FTW3. Although even after the appearance of it, I will not receive it until a month later (in my coutry local resellers toooooo slooooow)
I currently do not have any video card at all.
I sold my 980Ti Classy.
To buy the funders edition and calm down? ))))

So with my build I will have a budget of 745$ left over for a FTW3. Do you guys think It'll be priced higher than the FE edition being at 699$? Thanks!

True . If EVGA don't release the FTW soon I'll go with ASUS as I already sold my 1080 FTW Hybrid now I play on my 1440p monitor with my old 980 SC which is not really pleasent.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know where I can get 1080ti FE in the UK? I've sold both of my 980's ti to buy EVGA 1080ti, but I didn't realise I will have to wait for so long for a graphic card.
I keep on checking NVIDIA website, but the card is currently out of stock, the same story with Amazon.
As much as I would love to own ftw3, I don't have enough patience to wait.

Without a doubt it'll cost more than the $699 MSRP of the FE.   I'd guess $749-$799.  And that's being generous on the low side.  More likely around $789.  Hopefully we'll learn the actual price soon.

Where does that come from? All review sites simply state, "ASUS has not released a price or date this card will be available" and asus doesnt provide details, so where is the information coming from?

As a matter of fact, almost every sight says "the card is expected to launch in early April" which is not the end of this month.

I think your budget will be enough for FTW3.
But only in the store EVGA.
While it appears at the recommended price of resellers - you can die of old age.
So be prepared to spam F5 and pre-order))))
PS in my opinion more expensive than $869 there will be no video card in this line. I mean - the whole wide line - a hybrid, a hydrocopper, a classy - when they come out.

The problem is that the market will not be saturated with them soon. And the recommended price will not be soon.
By that time, it will be half the time before the announcement of a new generation, haha. GTX 1180 may be.

I have a budget of $1000, but I can not get what I need. It's sad.

Precisely. I want the FTW3 the most but I feel like I'm being forced into getting the Strix if EVGA don't at least say something soon.

Its out at the end of the month, I have no reason to lie & I've only ever bought EVGA cards for myself, I won't be changing unless EVGA take another month to get the FTW3 out, dealers in the UK already have the card up to pre order and with prices.

I never said you had a reason to lie. I simply stated as of today, according to asus and all review sites, asus hasn't published a release date or set a price. Could you post the links to the pre-orders and prices for others please? Every site I can find says early April, so it would be helpful to everyone to have links.

You need to break the link. Links only work once you have 11 posts. Just put a space between the period and com, like this: www.evga .com

There was a bit of controversy about overclockers. They apparently photoshopped pics and added random prices just to let people preorder.

Please tell me you read the description.. this site has no idea what they are posting and they are trying to get your money before release. Actually take time to read the description top to bottom and see all of the incorrect and misleading information..

Examples:

the title says 1592mhz, the article says 1607mhz and 1584mhz. It also says the strix has 8+2 vrm, which is already said to be 10+2.

It says at the top of the article that it has 6pin and 8 pin power, but later says 2 x 8 pin..

This site it taking advantage of people that dont read anything about what they are buying.

Feel free to give your money to a website that constantly lies, and is listing incorrect information.. you would be wise to not use them as the example if they can't get the little details correct, and you would also be wise to not preorder or believe their lies..

Now, do you have any actual links to actual product release dates? Because everything else says April.
