Been having some issues getting this board to post properly. I bought it for parts, previous owner gave me zero information on what was going on.

Well the board lights up, fans spin, beeps, everything looks good. Except it has the 3C code after it tries to boot. Anybody have any ideas?

If you're running dual cpu's try booting off one with the other disabled to see if the system will post. Make sure to test both the cpu's in the way I just described.

I only had one x5650 to boot with, so used the primary socket to attempt. Left the secondary socket empty. I disabled the secondary cpu via jumper and same result. Should i try CPU in secondary socket and disable primary via jumper?

Just put together the test bench and unfortunately yielded the same result. The dreaded 3C. Interested to see what you guys think.

Remove all sticks of memory but one stick and see what happens. Can you access the bios?

I removed all but one, tried a bunch of different configurations in terms of which slot the memory is seat in, that doesn't seem to be the issue.

edit: And no can't access bios.

Also wondering if you can get into bios and see if the board recognizes the cpu and memory.
Food for thought; there is a bios switch (on the bottom right area of the board) that will let you choose between three bios selection. Maybe you can try switching to the other two and see what happens.

Noticed the bios switch and thought the same thing, didn't change a thing though. But just to clarify, couldn't get into bios, blank screen with the mobo code 3c

Aside from the bios switch try installing the video card in another slot. If you are using an hdmi cable for video (those can be wonky at times) try using a dvi cable if you are able to. I think at this time getting something on the monitor is most important at this point.

Good idea on the video card and trying to use a DVI cable. I tried multiple PCI slots, but used HDMI for every test. I'll try DVI and update my results. Thanks for your time.

Oh yeah, before you do anything lets start out with: 1) Press clear cmos button and hold for 30 seconds. 2) Disconnect the power supply cord. 3) Remove the mobo battery. 4) Press the power button and hold for 30 seconds and make sure all mobo led's are off. Reinstall battery and power supply cable. Doing this will make sure board is completely reset then you can start your diagnosis. From here you can continue as suggested in my previous post. Just a reminder getting something on the monitor is most important at this point.

C1, C3, 68, 69, or C5 errors are usually related to memory or memory controller errors.

Try manually clearing the CMOS on the boards.  Refer to the board's documentation if you do not know how.  This can be done by moving a jumper on the board, or if the board has an onboard CMOS clear button, depress the button a couple of times.
    W555-SR2 manual

Also try the sticks of RAM one by one in all of the slots to see if any of them are able to boot.  If they can boot, then make sure your RAM is set to the manufacturer's recommended defaults.   Then try two at a time, and so on.

If you have an aftermarket heatsink, it may be too tight on the processor. Try either loosening the screws a bit, or try testing with the stock heatsink that came with your processor.

Please note:  For the SR-2 you MUST populate the Primary memory channel first, which is the non-black memory channels.

Good advice. Just to touch base the error code is 3C not C3.

I apologize for jumping all  over the place. I don't want to assume you already know this board inside out. If you haven't already I would recommend reading the instructions. Yes this board is a beast and also complex with so many power connections and disable jumpers. For example each cpu has its own 8 pin ATX 12v Power connection (so make sure whatever cpu socket you use has an 8 pin connected and cpu jumper is on the correct pin), the pci-e also has 7 disable jumpers (so make sure you have all seven jumpers and make sure they are on the correct pins.). If the pci-e jumper is missing, that pci-e slot won't work. There is also a 6 pin power connector which I believe is to power the bottom 4 pci-e slots. The pci-e slot is properly powered when the red led at the left lower edge of each pci-e is lit.  These are things that could contribute to the problem for nothing showing up on monitor.

We are all here to help.

Got good news all I managed to get the board to post a splash screen and after pressing delete I can see the post results. The previous owner disabled all PCI Express jumpers. I can also get both CPU sockets to get the same results. The only downside is my Mobo still has a 3C code and won't make it past the attached image. Let me know if you guys have any ideas

Yes I did the steps as instructed and same result. Just so i'm understanding the clear cmos button aspect, i'm holding it for 30 seconds when the system is powered on? when the system has power but not powered on? Just so you know i tried both ways and achieved the same results. anything else come to mind?

Computer off but, power supply connected and on. Then continue with steps 2, 3, & 4 to make sure board is fully reset. If same results try move bios switch and redue 1 - 4 again. These extra steps are a redundancy to make sure board is 100% reset. It helped me.  Nice find on the pci-e jumpers, lol.

Oh yeah just an fyi removing battery in step 3 and holding down power switch in step 4 will make sure all capacitors are fully discharged.

Just went through steps as described and same 3C post code. It does start up a little differently after doing all that, and the only difference is the fan on the mobo will stop spinning for a second and then start back up.

Does it post other codes and then stop at 3C or does it go straight to 3C.
Try disconnecting the fan in case it is shorted and reboot.
Power supply is a known good one?
In the mean time I'll fire up my SR-2 and see what it does and what happens up to 3C.

Thanks for the help man. Appreciate it. But only other thing worth mentioning is two short beeps right before code 3C. I tried stuff you mentioned, no luck. Power supply is known good one. Seems to go straight through normal boot codes and then gets hung up on 3C

The beeps happen after code 38 shortly before 3C posts. I believe the beeps are for how many usb devices are plugged in which is my mouse and keyboard
