I'll check when I get home. Thanks for your input. I reached out to Jacob and he stated that 70C is what is expected gaming. So looks like all is good.

eg1122 Ok I have a few concerns about my 3090 ftw3 RMA card. Compared to my original card that died, temps are about 10c warmer and PR scores are lower in general. Card idles around 2c above room temperature but while playing the division 2 it's steady at 65c no matter how fast the fans are. I've seen it hit 70c once during the game. This is with a room temp of 25c. Even with fans at 100% and case door off it still 60c+. What do you guys think? Think I should reach out to evga? Or is this within normal temps for hybrids? This is my first hybrid card ever.
I consider 22c a warm room. Have reasonable expectations with this powerful card.
I completely understand that. It's just that compared to my first card this one is way warmer. But just confirmed with Jacob via Twitter that 70c is an expected temp on the hybrid.

In the past I've seen significant temp improvements by redoing the thermal paste with high end thermal paste. The manufacturer don't always seat the heat sink correctly. Maybe give that a try.

Kryonaut has been king for the past many years. There are a few more recent paste that supposedly beat it by a bit but real world performance test varies. Thermal Grizzly also just released the Kryonaut Extreme but doubt you will see any noticeable difference. Any of these paste will perform better than stock paste as manufacturers usually won't pay the premium for these high end paste.

So I swapped out the thermal paste....O....M...G..... What a difference. PR Score went up a bit on default settings 13595 vs 13533. Max temp was 55C vs 61C. So running some stress tests with +250 memory and +125 core and power set to 107% and it hits 60C around the 4th loop of PR stress test. This is with stock fan profile. So far really happy with the replacement thermal paste

Oh and this is an exhaust push-pull so I imagine an intake push-pull to be that much better. I'm almost tempted to flip the fans, but just finished putting it all back together.

I debated between the two for a long time, the gfx card uses way more power then any most CPUs and thus is dumping hot air into the case for my CPU AIO to pull up thus reducing cooling. But on the flip side it gets the coolest air from outside and thus prob has the lowest possible temps. I ended up going with the intake just to give the gfx card the best possible cooling even if CPU might be running a bit hotter. Let me see what my temps are after port royal stability test.

It's just amazing how poorly thermal paste or seating of the heat sink can be on these cards. I've been replacing thermal paste for over a decade already on stock graphics cards and still we see manufacturers making the same mistakes. How did the stock paste look like? First thank you for the suggestion to swap out the thermal paste. The stock paste was very dry and hard. A very light gray color. Right now I'm running a PR stress test and highest temp I've seen is 64C. But it usually sits around 62C. This is with a +250 memory, +125 core, power set to 107% and stock fan profile. Got a 99.3% pass score. EVGA1225 It's just amazing how poorly thermal paste or seating of the heat sink can be on these cards. Ok so I played Division 2 with +250 memory, +125 core, power @107%, fans at default speed and max temp I saw was 64C. Gpu clock was steady at 2050Mhz sometimes hitting 2085Mhz. For reference before the thermal paste replacement I was getting an average temp of 65C and max of 69-70C and barely hitting 1950Mhz during game with stock settings and with a much more aggressive fan curve.

Hydro all the parts are watercooled since its a custom waterblock. hybrids just have a AIO slapped to them which cools just the core. Rest of the card is still air cooled.

So my ambient is 23C so that makes a bit of difference, then on top of that I have it set to exhaust so that adds a bit more heat to the equation. So I think that I'm doing well @64C. Im sure I could get better temps if I had it set to intake but I really dont want all that heat blowing into my case. So i think I found my daily at +250 memory and +125 core. This thread has been really helpful.

Here are my temps playing Shadow of a Tomb Raider now with Push/Pull. https://ibb.co/sFRFVbZ On another note, does anyone here happen to have this game? If yes, do your cloth flags and foliage jitter like the physics are on over drive? Here is an example that someone else made of the issue. https://youtu.be/m8b14P3aJEg

I am now working on my VRM fan curve. When I dropped my GPU temps it cause the VRM fan to spin slower(it's speed is based on GPU temp for some reason) which in turn increased VRM temps. An interesting side effect of a cooler GPU. I wonder if air-cooled cards are on a similar curve as the Hybrid for vrm based on GPU temp.

The Hybrids are quite a bit cooler then the air cooled counterparts. 400 to 450W is alot of power/heat to disapate! My Titan Xp hybrid with a single 120mm rad ran much cooler then the 3090.

Installed the hybrid kit on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra yesterday (stock OC bios). Best PR score on air: 14,278 Best PR score with the hybrid kit so far: 14,563 Right out of the box, without any adjustments or fine tuning, my PR score went up almost 200 points to 14,447. Is there a performance increase from installing the hybrid kit? Yes, but it's really only in benchmarks and will not be noticeable in games. Why choose the hybrid route then? The stock air cooler is pretty effective, especially when undervolting, but it is loud. I'm not overly concerned with fan noise, but the stock cooler is very noticeable when the fans ramp up. More importantly, the hybrid kit allows for setting up the radiator to exhaust hot air out of the system. The 3090 puts out a lot of heat, and venting the majority of that heat directly out of my case is why I wanted a hybrid. I've had very limited time post upgrade, but I'm very please so far. YMMV.
