The current 2080 Ti is missing a cluster, EXACTLY like the 1080 Ti is and the full GP102 chip was the Titan. So the full TU102 chip is out there and most likely will come as the new Titan based on Turing die. So the prices are very inflated, and this isn't even the least expensive one yet.

So it's not the full chip? Well I guess the 2080 Ti couldn't be called a TITAN then, nor a TITAN replacement. The "product stack shuffle" theory sounds like bunk if the 2080 Ti is a cut-down version and not the full chip.
 
The die size is much larger to accommodate more, power delivery and cooling is beefier; all things considered I wish the price hike were less but it seems unavoidable. RTX is simply more costly to make although I don't think it's as costly to make as these price increases would suggest.

What price drop? I see a price increase not a drop. How does nvidia/EVGA expect people to enjoy their products when prices are thru the roof. The equivalent of a GTX X70 is now more in cost than what a GTX X80 was. This started with the GTX10XX series, on the premise that bit miners were driving prices. So instead of increasing product output, prices were jacked up saying manufacturing components were in short supply. This price increase seems to have less to do with supply and demand, and more to do with greed.
This is hurting the PC gaming industry huge. A hardcore gamer used to be able to save up a little extra cash and get the flagship card. Now, even the second best offering is priced higher than the flagship card was. This effectively took a lot of people out of competitive benchmarking as well. Including myself.
 
So how about a real price drop? I didnt see one. I was a loyal nvidia fanboy until these price hikes. I am seriously thinking about jumping ship from Green to Red and give the AMD graphics a go. This is making PC gaming un-affordable and pushing more PC gamers to console gaming. Pretty sad when a single GPU costs more than a MOBO+CPU+MEM. I am sure PC game sales have suffered as well with the GPU price hike.
 
 
 
 

Well, Intel is also working on GPU’s. I can’t wait to drop Nvidia.

All the chips are missing a cluster because the process is too large to do them at Geforce clocks.
 
Your point is nulled; the Titan V wasn't fully enabled either.

The "product stack shuffle" theory isn't my theory anyways. As others have stated it originally came from Jayz2cents. It still sounds questionable regardless.

Depends if you're looking at higher SKUs and or supply and demand.

So maybe the best movement it's to wait and upgrade after 6 months ?

Nah.  I mean you could wait 1-2 years and maybe see a price decrease or see if you can have one used but if these GPUs are not in your budget, have a look at the 10xx series line.

I'm more concerned about what performance % increase we get from any upgrade, rather than is something is or isn't a Titan replacement.
 
I think it's more about what you pay and what you get, rather than what it's named or how much of the chip is disabled.

Kind of hoping AMD and Intel can bring something to the table to stop the green from Nvidia. They cant even match their Keynote prices. What is this world coming to.
