Were you prepared for the sudden and surprising price drop from Nvidia, and will this reflect in the substantial purchase order's from today?

He means when you buy the regular Non-Founders Edition.  The FE for the 1080 Ti was a $100 markup I believe. This one is $200.

These prices are unbelievable. I thought $999 from the presentation for the Ti was rough, and now I see EVGA is charging $1149. What exactly is $999? Founders I guess?

I need to wait to see some benchmarks and hard numbers. If the 2080TI can run everything at 4k@60fps it could be worth it. But if it is a small bump in performance then the $1200 is a waste. This whole Ray Tracing performance jump makes it sound so amazing, but you don't buy a newer car because the seats are ten times softer than the last years model.

Not that it matters, but I'm quite disappointed in the pricing. We know they will perform better than last gen, but the prices have been jacked since the new year. The 10 series have fallen from inflated prices, to almost where they were. I guess that's so we will "be used to" the higher pricing levels. Blah!

Being as there is a over abundance of 1000 series supposedly, the pricing almost makes sense, but seriously Nvidia, bad time to launch, think there will be a large number of upset people(myself included) that will no longer be buying Nvidia GPU's cards for a while. We all know they launched these cards now, and not late December due to the fact they can use this new generation of cards and work the pricing in for their past gen cards. Guess the market is truly that flooded with 1000 series cards. Lots of disgust in my mouth from this move. Call it over reaction, but sorry already seen too many price hikes over the years to accept this one. Hoping AMD can come up big soon.

was waiting to upgrade my 680 gtx with a new turing card. I guess ill just wait till the 1080s drop in price or get a 2070. that mark up is ridiculous. we definitely need more competition out there.

2080 Ti is priced like a Titan Xp --- because it is several times better

(per Nvidia CEO ---> performance is several times better with the 2080 Ti)

$1,000 was already pricey and I was ready to pre-order. . .  but, $1,200 is pushing it.  I think I'm going to wait for benchmarks first or see what AMD brings.

Checked Newegg Canada, and it's $1750 for the top end EVGA card.  After taxes, that's almost 2 grand.  That's a big no.  The greed is too strong with Nvidia this time around.  I don't care if this card makes me pancakes every morning, it's not worth the price of admission.

I don't think so. The 2070 is supposed to have higher performance then the Titan XP.  Straight from Jensen Huang's mouth.

Supposedly the 2080 will be some 8-15% better than the 1080ti. We will see though. I mean it better be.. lol

Reminds me of those bait and switch car ads.  You'll never find one at the ad price.  Oof, sorry, we juuuuust sold it.

except not that? the MSRP is $499, $699, and $999 which is what was stated and why it shows "FROM $XXX". The pricing on their website is for the nVidia Founders Edition cards with their cooler which has been priced at $100-$150 on the last two generations. If you want a card for MSRP wait for EVGA to release their stock reference cards for MSRP.

@squall-leonhart was that ninja edit directed at me? Or are you also pointing out that the presentation clearly said "FROM $XXX" and Jensen said those numbers were MSRP for stock models?

Not buying this crap. I'll hang on to my 1080ti. I hope AMD can release something decent, I'd drop Nvidia in a heartbeat.
