Don’t bother personally! Kingpin is seriously for LN2 getting a few more MHz isn’t worth it per dollar ratio. The card you have is fantastic enough on water

thknight I have an Evga 1080 ti FTW3 Elite and it is watercooled. I have been looking at the 1080 ti Kingpin and the Kingpin waterblock for it and was wondering is there a considerable performance difference between the Kingpin and the FTW3 Elite, when running under water? Is it worth upgrading to the Kingpin from a FTW3 Elite, if I am only going to be running it under water ? Does the Kingpin overclock a lot more than a FTW3 Elite, or is it the same and you only see the benefits of the Kingpin when running under LN2 ?
Ehh. Are you going to keep the FTW3? Or sell it? If the later how much money will you lose on top of the premium cost of the KPE just for the potential for a few extra mhz? Maybe if you were getting into tinkering but otherwise LN2 is where KPE rules. Using KPE with water or air is just horseshoes and hand-grenades..."close enough" to your FTW3

I recently got this card and I am keeping it stock air-cooled to use in a very small form factor quiet gaming build, very excited! What kind of performance are you guys getting? In my computer case, at stock 100% power limit, I am getting 1.050mV, 2025 Mhz (+15 core clock, anymore=crash), ~66c at constant 100% usage. Also, does anyone know what difference there is between 1080 Ti Kingpin air-cooled edition+hydro copper kit, and the 1080 Ti Kingpin water-cooled edition? I know that the former is $50 cheaper so I am curious. And anyone see improvements going from stock thermal paste to aftermarket? I use Noctua NT-H1, and would replace the thermal paste if people say it is good improvement :).

Nope. Ek doesn’t make the block and this terminal will not work with the evga hydrocopper. Buy the founders edition with ek block and ek single slot I/O. No need for hacking and you can mine away or do whatever it is you need to do with 7 graphics cards. The kingpin is a stupid purchase for a 7 card system to start with.

thank's for response and clarifying)))no mining)not my case.i needed 7x combo for rendering purposes (octane/f-storm) because of its OC possibilities.and moreover-what an imbecile would use WC GPU in that purpose???it goes too expensive.for rending too-i understand but what a pity thou.... '

buying a 7 kingpin combo for rendering would be a really bad purchase, especially because the kingpin wouldn't render any better than the founders cards. You can buy 7 1080ti founders for $700 a piece, plus a waterblock per card for $125, making each card $825, and gets you 7 cards for less than 7 kingpins, and they are all watercooled. The kingpin is built for benchmarking. If someone is spending between $1000 and $1250 per card to render, they should be purchasing the Titan Xp, since it ACTUALLY has better rendering quality and is meant for that work load, not to mention that Nvidia unlocked more performance to make the Titan X and Titan Xp perform better at rendering. Trust me, you can waste the money buying 1 Kingpin for rendering, since there is a 1 card limit, and then buy a 7 block terminal. Anyone that knows about rendering probably wouldn't waste all of their money on a card that costs $300 extra before watercooling, and doesn't actually do any better than the lower tier cards. Someone actually wanting to set up for rendering would actually look at the line of cards that would perform the best at rendering, like the Titan Xp. heck, you can even get the super awesome Star Wars cards for less than $1200 each. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-1080-gtx-ti-nickel (1080ti block) https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-titan-x-pascal-nickel (Titan Xp Block) https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-store/ (where you should purchase)

actually.i had titan X))))maxwell and paskal as well.1080ti performs better per cost.in standart atx i have no possibility to put 7 of them due to it's 2slot size and i m not going to buy server blade as well.Yes,i can either watercool it but it will cost much more to make even comparing to Evga solution.it will be smth around 1200+120 dollars per 1 card.and to put 7 of them ill be forced to cut the dvi port... quadro cards.u can even double the sum per 1 card/so 1080ti is the best way on pascal chip.on maxwell architecture it was much reasonale to have titan x comparing to 980ti due the gap of Vram onboard.as far as i remember titan has 12 vs 6(?) on 980ti.while 1 gigabyte difference (titan x vs 1080ti) is not so much significant. of course id buy ref 1080ti-if i could find!for today 1080ti FE costs 1118 dollars in russia.it is more expensive then MSI EK sea hawk...(thanks to miners).so of course better solution is to buy ref when the cost will go down. thanks for your advises guys.

Need a little help. I currently have a 1080 ti with normal DP/HMI/DVI connections and a G-Sync 165hz monitor than is more than 10ft from my PC. According to Displayport standards, i had to get a DP version 1.4 cable in order to maintain high refresh rates over a 12ft cable. I found one and it works great.(club-3d makes great cables) However, the Kingpin has mini-DP connections and I cannot find a a DP to Mini-DP version 1.4 cable over 6ft anywhere. I assume throwing in some janky DP-mDP adapter will not work since all of those are DP 1.1 or 1.2.

This cable + this extension cable will most likely be your best bet.

Not sure what you meant. If you are trying to get a kingpin bios for your FTW3, you would need to buy a Kingpin card.

I have the standard, if you can call them standard, 1080ti KiNGPiN & it is artifacting just on the menu of Metro Last Light, so it would be no good in the game & it crashes playing other games anyway. My question is, what would be the replacement under warranty? What card would be its equivalent now? I don't want my seller to rip me off. I would dearly love another 1080ti KiNGPiN, but I don't think EVGA has any. I noticed some on Amazon & Newegg, would EVGA buy them to replace my KiNGPiN (wishful thinking)? Should I RMA the card through the seller or through EVGA Australia? Thank you in advance for all the replies. I shall go & drown my sorrows now at losing such a wonderful card, I will miss it very much

RMA it with evga. EVGA may have another kingpin to give you. If no 1080 ti kingpins are available evga will replace the card with a card that performs equally to, or better than the 1080 ti kingpin, so you could end up getting a different 1080 ti, or even a rtx 2080.

Thank you, I will lodge the RMA with EVGA Australia then. I wonder why the seller was so eager for me to send it back to them? The only thing I can see wrong with the 2080 is the drop in vRam, 11GB to 8GB, and it is a bit slower than the 1080ti KiNGPiN I noticed there are some 1080ti KiNGPiNs on Amazon & Newegg in the States, EVGA would they source the 1080ti KiNGPiN from them if they don't have any? or just give me a replacement inhouse? I will miss my KiNGPiN

I go to the Aussie EVGA site & before I can submit am RMA I have to contact a tech via their website, so I do that He "emails" me this morning saying we have to see if the PSU is not causing the problem. He wanted me to start HWMonitor & check the voltages of the PSU. Should I RMA my 1200W EVGA P2 PSU as well?! What a joke, I know when a GPU is gone & did a video of it artifacting while just in the menu of Metro Last Light - he (David Olivares) never bothered to download the video. He also wanted me to try the GPU in another PC, I just have a spare gaming PC in my pocket To make matter worse, he said to reply, go to the Oz EVGA page he gave me to reply to this 'email'. I write things down but it only has a 1500 max, another joke, I hit send & get an error about the host at au.evga having a problem So I find another page that says you can send complaints here, just type it in & then hit enter, but there is no way to send a file on that page, another joke. I type all this out & hit enter, guess what? I get another error at host au.evga. How can I get my 1080ti KiNGPiN to an RMA when I have to contact a tech who I cannot contact again either by 'email' or by the au.evga website. If this is typical hassle everytime I have problem, I will not buy EVGA ever again Could someone contact David Olivares at Aussie tech so I can get this RMA happenning, please. Tell him emails only since their website is rooted

Thank you for that, but I only have a local (in Australia) mobile plan & that would cost too much for me to ring them in the USA (why no Australian number?); I am new to mobile, where I was living for 2 decades had no mobile coverage until I left in April last year. I have been on the internet for over a decade thou. But fear not, Kevin emailed me, he is "I am one the supervisor in the US office", and he got me an RMA number - woo hoo And if the postal charges are too much for this pensioner, he will help me out; isn't that nice of him? And you too Sajin for all your help - Thank you :)
