Got a confirmation call today. If you dont call them, they will call you, no problem. They have a pile of boxes waiting for the UPS guy today. Once the UPS guy gets there we will be getting shipping updates, I imagine. Mine has shipped, woot

Where do you live? My temps don't go higher than 61C. From Michigan though so we can get a lot lower temps here.

Yup that what i got to ow gp seems to soar my card around 66c to 69c. Never goes over 70 i dont use an aggressive fan curve works fine and quiet. That is normal no worries. A little info my ambient temp is 20c to 25c. I have a closed tempered glass case with a radiator in front.

Yes, seriously. Underclock to see if there is an issue or No one will be able to help out. This isnt permanent, anf if you were willing to spend the money, you are willing to verify. It could be a bunch of things, just take a little bit of time to run the test. You already said you are new to overclocking, so you will learn along the way. If your cpu is overclocked, try setting it to stock for now as well. Test your gpu at stock as well. No changes to anything, 100% stock is the best way to start.

the only thing I have done is set that powerlimit to 120% since then i have set the powerlimit back to 100% Evga told me to run fire strike benchmark and userbenchmark and when i gave them the results I was told the issue might be that the cpu is causing the stutter and fps drops and they told me to set my memory to stock settings..as it was on xmp profile and apparently makes my system unstable. .again i diden't spend the extra cash on fast memory not to take advantage of it..but anyways I did what they said..set it from xmp to auto..tried games again..no crash or artifacts but performance is the same.. can anyone give me an estimate of what sort of fps i should be getting on a game like witcher 3 at max settings at 4k with vsync enabled. or prey? in wicher 3 im getting 60 but dips in the 40s. and prey is very bad sometimes going as low as 30fps.

you say its standerd at 60 frames..im saying its not staying at 60 frames..alot of the times it is in the 50s. i playd it last night for a good 4 hours. cpu temps dident go over 55.gpu temps dident go over 69. clocks on the cpu were at 4400mhz most of the time and the clockes on the gpu were not stable they kept changing.. when in menu it was around 600mhz or so when in the game world it fluctuated in the 18-19k the % of th gpu was all over the place..sometimes it was 30% others it was 94-100%.

domjam, did you ever resolve the issues you were having last year? They sound very similar? domjam Wednesday, August 03, 2016 5:05 AM Hi all iv noticed that in some games. for example witcher 3. I can not get a solid 60fps in novigrade or outside in velen countryside even at 1080p on lowest settings whats wierder is sometimes it will drop to the 50s and then shootback up to 60. tested in sli and single and same performance. dosent seem to do it in skeliag. in anycase considering my setup this seems wrong. wondering if anyone can help me figure out what could be causing this..at this point i think its hardware related. i had afterburner monitor in the background and my cpu was in the 70s c and both gpus were mid 60s. I dunno if this is normal or not but could the fps drops be related to these temps or a failing powersupply?it is on the 5 year and over mark. system CPU: i5 3570k 4.1ghz corsair H100i v2 motherborad: ASUS sabertoothz77 psu: Corsairhx1000 memory: Corsair vengance 1600mhz gpu1: Inno3d hybrid black 980ti = Nvidia driver 368.81 gpu2: EVGA Classifed 980ti OS Drive: samsung 850 evo 250gb game drive:WD1002FAEX case: coolermaster HAF-X From this post you made? At 69C the card is throttling some due to nvidias temp binning. Try gaming again at 100% fan speed on the Kinpin. See if the GPU stays up closer to 2000. I'll install witcher 3 tomorrow and see if I can replicate what you're seeing.

Nvidia temp binning? whats that?..I set the fan at 100% in evga precision and loaded my save game in novigard. Once loaded in the clocks are at 2000mhz then it starts to decrees when the temp goes beyond 41c. at 41c it drops to 1987 then at 55c it drops to 1978 and and so on.the number for the clocks dose not stay at 2000. is there a setting i need to enable in nvida control panel or in evga precison to make the clocks stay at 2000? I'm a bit lost.

Bins, temps & GPU Boost 3.0...nvidias answer to keeping temps in check. Anandtech did a small write-up here (scroll down to "Observations on Clocking with Pascal" section. There's a chart too). Basically, the card will throttle down more and more as your card gets warmer and warmer. Pascal/1080 ti is more sensitive to temp than ever before and most of these cards, Kingpin included, are already OC'd near the maximum out of the factory. That being said if you want 2000?--You need to figure out a way to keep the temps below ~40. Doesn't matter if you had a Kingpin, FTW, Asus, Gigabyte etc, it's all the same. A lot of folks were happy to simply have the 1080 ti founders edition and a waterblock because the amount of effort to get anything more is a bit of a challenge. In the past there were custom bios' that allowed you to skip a bin or two before the card would throttle down but I haven't seen one, maybe someone else has. As for Witcher 3, it's not looking like I'll have time in my day to install it. However, I looked up some youtube video reviews, like this one, and at 4K & Max settings, they too are getting 40-60 FPS. Try turning down one or two settings, you'll probably get a steady 60fps. Also, what are your goals with your computer & kingpin? e.g. want better gaming experience or are you more into benchmarking/stats/problem solving/fun with numbers? For now things to try that are easy: lower the temp in your room if able; increase fan speed on case/remove side panel; and/or shutdown your computer, remove the power cord, change the BIOS switch to "OC" and boot

domjam i trid running firestrike stress test and its failing at stock settings. heres the link to my result if you care to take a look. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/22336560
Did you run the test with your gpu fans set to 100%?
sorry forgot to mention that part. yes i did.
Sounds like you may need to rma the card. How hot is the card getting while running the stress test? This is what I get when running the fire strike stress test with my fans and power target set to max... https://www.3dmark.com/fsst/575467 Note: I do own a 1080 ti kingpin too.

are you serious?? that cant be it just cant be..i had 3 defects 1080ti gigabyte auros water force extream..and then i get this and your saying its a bad card...... my temps on witcher 3 are 69c. the result for firestrike is here everything at stock. apart from the fans. i did not test power limit higher then %100 beacuse last time i tryd the extream test it crashed when changing anything to do with that setting in evg pracision. .it dose not make sence why im failing a stupid test. there is no crash or anything.. not happy about this. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/22348424

I'm serious. You shouldn't crash with the power target at max. The kingpin has 3 available vbioses to select from. I would try testing all three vbioses with the power target set to max to see if continue to crash. The 3dmark fire strike stress test will give you a higher score when your temps are lower. https://www.futuremark.co...ew-3dmark-stress-tests

Are you saying that you've been thru *three* 1080tis? If so, were all the problems roughly the same?

So, does anyone have any Benchmarks to share? I'm surprised we haven't seen any reviews. I love Overclocking and really want one of these with the waterblock when it comes out.
