So I am waiting to receive my 1080 FTW ICX Upgrade to come from EVGA as I sent back my ACX 3.0 and will def be doing the Ti Step Up. I have never done Step Up before and am curious as to how long we can anticipate for the ICX Ti cooler to be added? Anyone remember how long it was for them to add the ACX 3.0 cooler for 1080 when they were released? Thinking of waiting near end of my 90 window to do to see what option there will be.

It has been quoted at multiple places that EVGA will not be adding any "custom cards" for Step-up. I saw one post where someone said that EVGA rep told him only FE would be added.

Seeing the pattern I am inclined to think there is a chance that non-OC ICX might be added but since it hasnt even been announced it is very less likely.

Only time I have seen an OC card added is for UK 1080 SC so EVGA is unpredictable in the regards.

But I would suggest people who are waiting for EVGA to add those cards to enter the queue for FE anyway, since you can easily cancel before making the payment.

They base it on availability. So custom cards like FTW and Classified are completely out as they are short supply. The rest are open season based on demand and stock levels. Only FE is available, so once the base iCX unit is out for awhile it might get added. SC and such get larger orders while FTW and above don't. It's really a waiting game at this point. I'll hold off until either the SC gets added or a hybrid cooler of some sort gets announced. I can't afford water cooling without my evga bucks to help and I'm not a fan of 100% fan speed on a shrouded blower fan. That's the only way reviewers got 2ghz on the cards.

All the water cooled GPU's, SC, FTW have been in stock for a good time yet hasnt made it to the Step-up list.

They released a hybrid kit for the 1080/70 FE cards. If they make one for the 1080Ti I can use my evga bucks to buy it. Combined with the FE card and I'll be happy. I'll even do the base air dual fan card the "Black Edition" but hope for the full iCX base card.

I'm stuck at Step-1 :(

I wonder what happened. I did the Step-Up at 11AM

Things can always go to a stand-still on the weekend because all shipping operations on nation-wide carriers can stop sometimes, so don't worry, i've been through this a couple of times already so i know this is just business as usual. :)

I think I submitted mine around 12:45 PM EST. No second step either.

It started at 1:00 PM EST, I submitted at 1:25PM EST.

Then it was 1:45 PM EST. Same as DogBiscuits, I've had my invoice uploaded when I first bought and registered my 1080 FTW back in Feb.

Sc cards are generally reference pcb.. basically just an overclock.

Sc2, ftw, ftw+, ftw2, ftw3, hybrid, hybrid ftw, classified, and k|ngp|n are not reference pcb's.

Step up is only for reference boards, unoess extenuating circumstances exist.

The stock piece only applies to reference cards.

Aren't the FE cards much more expensive than the reference board EVGA cooler cards will be?

I'm trying to figure out if I should stay in step-up for the FE cards or just wait.

Your only gonna see the base cards in the step up. The longer you wait, the more you gotta wait in line. Jump in now and you can always cancel afterward.

Ah shucks lol mines still saying in queue with no number. What does it mean EVGA! lol :) all you day one lucky ducks haha

Yeah that's the big question.

I see all these people making payments and shipping cards because they obviously got in the queue at 10:03 am... I didn't get in till 1:42 pm because I was sleeping after working the night shift.

You snooze you lose?

I hope this doesn't have me waiting until May for my card.  (Even if it did it's not a big deal, I'm running a 1080.  It still would be nice to get the Ti though!  LOL)

May? No. April? Yes probably. End of March at the earliest, based on previous trends. Hard to do though, since nothing like this has happened. Dozens of people got their step up day one. That's never happened before. YOu may find yourself hitting step two sooner than you know it.

We have any idea what the power target will be on the EVGA FE Ti's yet? 120% or will it have a dual bios like the FTW and higher cards on the 1080 and have 130%? What are the Titan XP's target? I'm guessing it will be the same? Not that it will matter much since they respond to lower temps more than the power target % when it comes to boost/OC's anyway but just curious.

Reference boards do not have two BIOS chips. 120% is probably correct.

Rather than even care i'll probably just take the small hit and sell it for 550 or 600 when the hybrids are released and buy an FTW vewrsion of that.

I'm thinking that I probably will.  As said, with a 1080 I'm not losing sleep over the upgrade whether it's now or 2 weeks from now.  The mad rush is on and the cards are sold out everywhere anyway.  I'd most likely be waiting regardless of the step up.

I figured as much with dual bios. I will assume the target will be the same as the Titan XP. Guessing it's 120% but too lazy to look it up. I'll find out soon enough. Sending mine out first thing in the morning with 2 day shipping so I'll probably have mine back by the the middle of next week sometime. I still have my old one in my system with block still on it. I dread draining the loop and putting the air cooler back on it. I have all the original stuff in the original box minus one of the display port rubber guards that come in them. I can probably find it but if not surely they won't reject it over something that simple. I would hope not anyway, that would really suck to have to start over due to a rubber guard. I did find the other pcie and sli rubber guards just 1 single port protector missing.

I purchased a 1080 Hybrid about 2 months ago, but it is saying that my card is not eligible to step up to a 1080ti FE ("This product is not available for Step-Up"). Is it just because they are out of stock on the 1080ti or will I not be able to step up with it?

  1.  Register your valid product within 90 days from your original purchase"

:( why does it say first 90 days as the first step?

So I have to purchase an extended warranty then I will be able to step-up then since I missed the 14 day window?

its a little confusing when you read it but the 90 days is how long you have after invoice to register for step up proccess. but to be eligible for the step up you must register you card with in 14

  1. If your qualifying product has a 3 year warranty purchased on or after 3/1/2013 and registered within 14 days of the invoice date by the original owner from an authorized reseller, then you will receive the option to step-up for the first 90 days of ownership.
  2. If your qualifying product has a 3 year warranty purchased on or after 1/1/11 and registered after 14 days of the original purchase date you must also purchase an extended warranty in order to be qualified for the step-up program.

@Repo1979 It was just in the plastic. I have the same card and am also stepping up. Still stuck at step 1 though and did it only an hour after it was released to the step up program.

Cancelled my step-up.

I'll wait for something better than Founders edition. SC at least, or will stick with my superior icx card or I'll save myself the 36 bucks and wait for Volta.

1080 ti isn't that much of an upgrade over the 1080. It'll be obsolete in a year.

read the step up TOS. Only reference cards will be added to the step up.
On rare occasions SC models, this doesn't guarantee that it will be added.
Either way, one less in queue.

30% performance improvement for 36$ and you dont want it ?

You can get the hybrid kit if you are that worried about the temps. Most reviews mention that throttling isn't that much at max temp and is still faster than 1080.
